This is still my favorite resort, not moderate resort but, resort. The first time my parents took us to Disney World, we stayed at the Grand Floridian and I loved it. We stayed at the Contemporary the following year and the Polynesian the year after that. My parents took us to Port Orleans when it first opened and we went to Dixie Landings the following year. I remember the old flower bedspreads and that ugly wallpaper but, I just fell in love with the theme and the old dixieland jazz music that played throughout the resort. You couldnt not be happy. It was impossible to not be in a great mood. I've loved it ever since. I have taken my family to stay at several resorts as well. We have been to Caribbean Beach, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Grand Floridian, All Star Movies, Wilderness Lodge and both Port Orleans resorts. We all agree that Port Orleans French Quarter is our favorite. It's small, intimate, quiet, easy to navigate and we love the theme and the food. I'm actually pretty unhappy about the fact that they have yet to announce when it will reopen because that is where we want to stay when we go back.
We LOVE the French Quarter. Sometimes you can get good deals to stay there (around $200/nite). It is calming after a frantic, crowded day at the park. It is great to soak those tired legs in the hot tub while you have a glass of wine, aahhhh.
This was the first resort I've stayed at during my first Disney trip in 2017. It's remained my favorite. I really enjoyed the grounds and small size compared to other resorts. Thank you for the video. I always enjoy watching your channel.
Hey Gina! Thanks for checking it out! I needed to see what the hype was about and was honestly amazed at the size of it. It was so easy to navigate and get around everywhere - I have never had a more accessible stay that is for sure :) I hope you are going back soon!
My wife and I will be starting our 15th wedding anniversary trip at Port Orleans French Quarter, spending two nights there, and the rest of the week at Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It looks like a ton of fun, and our first day is currently slated as a resort day, exploring the pools, eating at Boatwright's at Riverside, and maybe even taking a carriage ride. I'm a big kid at heart, as is my wife, so trying out the waterslides is a must! :) We also want to take the boat to Disney Springs, maybe on Tuesday, and see how that goes. I last stayed at Dixie Landings in 1992 with my parents, so it will be cool to see how much it has changed. Should be fun! :)
Looks like a fun place! Thinking of this for the next trip cause of the gluten free beignets and all the gluten free substitutions! I need a good price, any tips? We were thinking 2nd week of November next year 2021.
Last time my family stayed in art of animation and we hated how far we had to walk to the bus stop from the park exit. Does French quarters or riverside have closer bus stops at the parks?
Kristen Gurley Ou did all 5 of you fit well! That’s awesome, I will pass this review over to others who might be wondering if it would work out for their family!
That Disney Girl it was for sure a family of 4 room. But being a family of 5 my parents couldn’t afford the deluxe resorts! We used a twin blow up mattress and I slept on the floor and we put it on the wall while we were getting ready. It worked well for us!
