    Original owner from Sept 2017 DSG DCC w/ 19inch Cadiz in Canada 😁 I test drove both, Even though I love manuals, DSG sold me.
    Only thing I didn't like, no LED tail lights in North America, no spare, no folding mirrors, no sunroof and no option for the Akrapovič exhaust.
    I upgraded the mirrors , 7.5 tail lights and spare/ tool kit.
    Now Stage 1 flash, PS4S tires and H&R sway bars = OEM +

      I would love to experience the Golf R in North America where your climate experiences a lot more snow than we have in the UK. Love the sound of your spec and for sure the sunroof and akrapovic exhaust are a real added bonus to the car. Very suprised you do not have folding mirrors considering it is the top of the range model. Enjoy your awesome car with the added touches 🇨🇦 🇬🇧

      I plan to restart my series called "Sam Talks Cars" in January 2023 where I go through my subscribers comments in a video to share. Last years playlist is here to give you a bit of an example: th-cam.com/play/PLApEm-9raRRp_vma-rrFhd6eCIw1rXC_N.html - If you comment with the vehicles you have been looking at, or any other comments you have, I will share my thoughts in the video and subsequent comments each week. Ill use yours to kick off the series along with others I find from other videos I have. I am on Instagram but best to comment on TH-cam particularly in future videos called "Sam Talks Cars"👍

    I’ve got a white manual r, the golf r will be talked about for years to come, amazing car, been drifting about in the snow doesn’t struggle one bit in winter either, best car I’ve ever had, only way I’d get rid of her is for a dsg but the manual is more than good enough

    You wouldn't get 20k for your car. Dealerships are selling ones for about 20k with less miles same year.

    Hello sam i have a question would you reccomend me this car i have a salary from lets say around 2000€ or pound +/- do you think i can handle with this kind of salary the monthly payments for this car i want your point of view and opinion it would help me a lot since you know hoe this car breath’s you have owned it for quite some time so i think you can give me the best answer and another one i almost forgot what is the most expensive part that can break down or cause a problem “often” on this car ??

    • @SamAustin
      @SamAustin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello and thank you for your question! So do you mean €2000 per month before tax? Financially speaking I only purchase my cars in full and I have never financed a car. This is my opinion on car ownership but this is not to say you should not go down the monthly route. As I do not know your outgoings financially I cannot advise if the car is affordable specifically for yourself. What I can say is the car is the car is fantastic and costs no more to run really than any other VW Golf. The Thermostat housing / Water pump + Clutch for the manual are the biggest bills I have had. Other than that it has all been normal and cost effective. This video I did may help you the most - th-cam.com/video/lZclSAZKbYQ/w-d-xo.html - 👍

    • @SamAustin

    • @SamAustin

      Wrong car for cheap tyres. I would go premium tyres with the lowest price being about £90 a tyre.

    I bought a DSG 2017 a couple of weeks ago. I love the thing. Don't bother looking at the MPG, as it's way better than the Jag XE it replaced. The biggest pain in the rear end is the back window dirt. Forgot how much of a pain it is in a hatchback. It's just constantly boggin. Obviously getting a bit fed up with dafties trying to race me too.

      Under seat storage trays 👍 an extra 10 BHP, unique body styling, LED dynamic cornering lights, digital dash, upgraded infotainment, physical buttons, no OPF, retuned haldex, sweet manual gearbox, 3 doors. . . . . 67 plate 7.5R FTW! 😎
