To me, the best thing about the state of wow is this:
We are getting to more and more refined and specific things that need change/improvement while simultaneously hearing the devs give answers that are more and more relevant to the underlying concerns and thought processes that we want them to have.
Like, compared to early shadowlands, every single concern we have feels like a nitpick.
And yet, they keep refining things.
I love it.
"let's forget about shamans for a second" that's easy we are all pros about forgetting shamans
Max learning more about cinematography is my new favorite subplot
Blizzard needs a lot more people like the guy in the red winter clothing.
@@contentenjoyer_ You're getting confused, Mike Ibarra already ''left'' Blizzard. Jokes aside this guy answered mechanical questions and it's clear he plays the game on a lvl above casual, what PR did he regurgitate? I'll be the first to shit violently on Blizzard but I'm not a braind*ad hater.
they need cross over for raid buffs like every class should be able to bring 1-2 raid buffs so youre not hard locked comp wise
In regards to item level, you boost the gear through M+ so you get the item level your skill level deserves at the end of the gear push
Fronk is a legend, love that zoom bit at the start!
"It's actually a PvP issue too, but I don't know enough to talk about that".
Incredibly refreshing take. Big kudos, Max. 👏🏻👏🏻
I am still a little worried about Delves being a Mage Tower because what made the Mage Tower awesome was Character specific rewards that pushed class fantasy. Also I loved playing different classes for my legion weapons and even specs I never tried and since Delves are this universal thing with their own theme idk how they'll do it. Time will tell, but for me Delves are high hopes and I am also desperatly in need for a mage tower-esque activity ingame since Legion so I hope it checks out.
Delves at the highest rank will be a mage tower like difficultly ( in theory). No one is saying it’s like the mage tower. Important distinction.
I'm excited for delves cause outside of Raiding and M+ the gear that can be obtain from them equals to that of heroic raiding and M+5 yes this is only for Tier 3 delves, I know some people will get pissed but honestly? it's good blizzard is doing something for those who'd rather play solo.
@@keithb6344 Tier 3 is the highest and most likely the hardest sense it offers gear at the item level of Heroic raiding and M+5. I'm not sure on how hard it will be but I think when soloing its hard(like you'd have to manage tool kits and defensives properly) but if you go with 2 other people then it gets harder. I don't know but I'm excited for something that solo players can do that rewards them with gear especially gear that is heroic raiding and M+5 lvl.
@@Titan.Fox56 there are 11 tiers at endgame. The other big difference is mage tower at the end of legion you could just out gear, this will be adjusted per season to new gear.
it's just another version of Islands, they said the same shit about islands before came out in bfa. dev hyping boring ass shit.
It's either going to be shit rewards, so no one is doing them or they are going force us to do it min/max for raid and we do them but hate it
I am ERECT at the the description of high level Delve challenge, FULL MAST ROCK HARD.
This reminds me of the great feature from bfa expeditions and the war thing
I love the part where he talks about topping my overall
That’s big news for base default ui changes
I'd like the season 4 raid to be a best of instead of cycling through the raids, just have a raid that ports you from bossroom to bossroom of the bosses that were best received.
Hero talents seem more like shadowland covenants where the covenant ability is now a core ability, but also some hero talents are just like covenant trees.
the zoom in the beginning is a "crash zoom" it is done in post not via the actual camera.
A question that really burns in my mind and hasn't been asked here is whether this is now the new format with only three raid/ seasons per expansion
Pretty sure they want expansions to be 18 months now instead of 24 so I’d expect only 3 raids per
In mythic raid surv over all does a good amount less DPS then the other two choices, yet if you look at the top damage hunter in the world hes surv... so it works out in the end normally
The gentleman with the coat on is very intelligent.
Im glad we get to gear up again, lmao. Im easy to make happy when it comes to content.
I feel like at some point in the season they should add a new tier of gear that can be awakened so that guilds struggling on progression can get a power boost to help them clear it. It would at least give some players a goal to come back to. Could make it like a token system that you get x amount of tokens from mythic boss kills etc. Instead of the curve continuing to be flat at the top end.
active raid buffs, just give ele a crit multiplier or something that can be kept up some of the time and give resto some healing multiplier or something, does't have to be passive.
"Every spec will get a rework"
Cries in survival
Looks like he edited out some word usage that could definitely be clipped and taken way out of context, that's good. Keep up the good work Fronk
I'm calling it now - there will be a boss fight where having the arachnophobia filter on will be an advantage either for seeing a mechanic or seeing the mob or something.
Maybe to keep mythic intresting. Maybe just make very cool cosmetic rewards like insane 2handers for like doing the raid achievs on mythic or for killing like the last boss 15 times on mythic or smthing. Or like new spelleffects(could be anything rly)
give shaman a raid buff called fury of the storms and have it give 1-2% increase attack/cast speed problem solved
You couldn’t brick the water temple, but you could definitely make it take longer.
I hope they fix shaman and DK. They are always looked over compared to pallies and mages and druids. Please make shaman and DK great again!
But Max I need you this morning for season four! where da stream at?
In regards to defensives it will always be a problem with infinitely scaling content. Of course there is also a damage wall but it doesn't matter the amount of damage a class can do if they die. Could just give everyone the same defensive, which would technically solve the problem but would also just simplify everything too much
Shadow probably is going to get a rework. Voidweaver locks in almost their entire tree.
Holy Shit bys, I think I actually want to play WoW again when TWW comes out
That moment when "reaction" video has almost double the views (and growing!) than the actual video. 😎😎
Let delves scale infinitely like M+, please. I want some solo content to challenge me when I don’t feel like trying to find competent dps in the M+ queue or waiting for friends to log on or because it’s 4am and I can’t sleep.
16:30 Literally a boss in new raid journal states that it EXECUTES your character if it falls below 10% Hp. It’s actually a sick mechanic and hopefully helps give healers a little more excitement and terror during this fight. Really looking forward to going back to try healing in TWW although HPal gameplay needs a complete rework. It’s just not fun anymore.
PSA: streamed around 22nd of April with the vod title "🍉 war within alpha all day 🍉 playing everything 🍉" at about 1:31:45 into the vod
The druid class tree looks great to me 🤷 Infinitely better than the current one.
For me atleast, addons and what we can do with them as far as customization is incredible. I love being able to have my own UI that I feel comfortable with and can play the best with.
I do not think they should be removed at all. Rather, the base ui needs to be brought up to a point that the you can play the game to a reasonable level of content. It’s understandable that high key players need to track add casts, have specific weakauras and timers for events, but a brand new player shouldn’t feel that they NEED these things to be atleast playing the game at a medium level. It only hurts the game. PvP is a great example of this. You need several addons and weakauras to just play the game and have the information you need, therefore a new player will feel discouraged to put the time in to get all that set up, you can’t even blame them for that.
For the awakened season… I do not like being forced to do content I don’t like (raiding) I am absolutely love that I can get my BiS trinkets and stuff from raid without having to really raid at all. I wish this system would be for every season, however I understand why it’s not haha.
Beating delves early solo to get "prebis" before everyone else is gonna such a flex is possible
Have been watching a bit of wow content again, last time i played was legion. What happened to shaman? I had a resto shaman main but it sounds like the class is a mess now?
The "i don't think they will have a problem balancing hero talents" is a crazy take to me. And the reasoning being that they did a better job in DF than ever before.
Well, the whole reason that was the case is because they simplified player power. You don't get power from 5 different systems, each compounding on each other like we did in BFA and SL, you only get power from talents and a few minor bonuses from sets.
With the addition of hero talents, you have new compounding bonuses and procs on top of having to balance for each Spec having 2 sub-specs. ( take mage for example: Instead of having to balance for 3 specs, now you have to balance for 6 with each of those having the potential of interacting differently with class set bonuses, stats and types of content)
if you want a varied comp to generally be the best comp, passives are a boring way to do that, if a resto shaman can buff other heals for example but there is choice in how to do it and just doing it willy nilly gives you the same results as any other comp, but if you optimize it, it is better, well then it will be more fun and playing well will be more valued. i think that is a good thing to do, make it so that synergy with variation is the best generally and with mediocre play it doesn't matter as much, that would be a nicer way to deal with it i think, instead of passives.
Delve , delve. Yeah delves. Wows newest elf branding
Arachnophobia filter: I picked up somewhere that this filter is something blizz got access to through Microsoft. If that is correct, the wow developers did not have to invent the whole thing themselves. So no dev time wasted. ;-)
this dude into spider holy based
the thing you are missing alot of players don't get the great vault rewards cause they don't want to be in a group . regardless if its boring solo players will love this
If a player doesn't want to do group content, they don't need gear that is only necessary *for* group content. Even if you want that gear, dragonflight gives players the option to get basically the same level of gear without ever joining a group as heroic raiders/mythic+ dungeon drops. Same as what delves will offer.
I'm incredibly introverted. A hermit. Agoraphobic - Fear of crowded spaces, "leaving the home" or being in areas where escaping is difficult. If I can join a group, anyone should be able to. Nobody is demanding you be social. Most people in most groups I've ever been in say NOTHING. They might as well be bots. You can always just turn chat off, and act as though they are bots.
Edit: Additionally, *especially with timers removed* - mythic+ is soloable. Sure, you're not gonna be getting the 1% title, or maybe even +10s... but play a tank. Take it slow. You'll get through it, entirely solo. A scaling, solo challenge that offers rewards.
@@SupachargedGaming This sort of autistic rant about someone wanting more things to do in the game is the exact reason so many people avoid the groups for M+ and raiding these days. I say this as a person that regularly pushed front page M+ and raiding for many years. The game needs more solo content cause it can be exhausting dealing with the community that has continuously gotten worse every expansion.
I agree delves shouldn't fully replace that content, then again I would've said the same thing for m+ and they've started letting m+ players ignore raids and world content. If they are going to let M+ players isolate themselves then they have no justification for not letting delve players do so.
Bro I said the same thing. "Did she do this interview from a church?"
Yo Max i liked your content before but you are the GOAT for mentioning PvP (16:00)
PvPers often have the same problems as PvErs like Demon hunters beeing OP or Augs beeing completly busted for a season straight..
Or Having Addons play the game for you. (Weak Auras and CD Trackers)
If any relevant class balance was found before S4 I would be more interested, but it’s just gonna be the exact same meta for another 6 months, in dungeons I’ve already done…
The EU event probably had less babytalk and great accents. I'm looking forward to 11 Delves and War Bands. They listen!
Subbed
35:20 so its like valshara
I really want them to add the ability to not choose a hero spec and instead just get a damage buff
Can confirm that if delves are just mindless t kill x creatures or collect x things I will be extremely disappointed. I'm hoping the tiers dont just increase numbers nut also complicate the traps and objectives
too bad the majority of the wow playerbase for both game tends to prefer mindless easy dogshit. don't get your hopes up
Im sure they’ll rework Shadow priest (again) before ele shaman
they just need to make skyfury totem a pve ability on a 1 to 2 min cd
Delves should have an unlimited level of tiers. Reward ends at the current max of 11. Then you should be able to lvl it further, just like m+ to be more challenging etc for fun. Maybe that it rewards more items or something too, or some achievement. But just being able to challenge yourself further. Have it cap out at a max level, feels very awkward, as it's like a filler for M+.
Why is skyfury not a pve elemental shaman group cd? Its in the game.....
12:12 MAX IS HIM! LISAN AL GAIB!!
12:55 max just came
This dev is looking and acting like a pogchamp Jeremy Renner
Unpopular opinion:
I personally hate the feeling of not "feeling the weight" of the difficulty i'm playing:
You are running heroic "progression" 2-3 weeks into the patch and you have alredy half of group or more M+ geared... That shit completely trivializes the raiding experience, it feels like cheating. The fact that people can gear outside raids to be stronger to just join their guild and destroy the bosses. It feels like you have no reason to be there. Its not ok. Make Raiding matter again. Scale down M+ gear inside the raid. If you are progressing on heroic, it should feel like it.
I actually agree with this. This removes part of the fun as well. It feels like you are getting carried and that sucks
Give shamans raid wide spirit walkers grace from wind rush totem
We need more interviews of Max, Dorki & Dratnos talking to the devs directly. Should be a monthly dev checkin podcast to get the community juice flow'n lol
Wanna REALLY scare people?
Halondrus filter 😂
I love niguura
* cries in Shadow Priest *
lol. i love the live stream comments. Its called video editing. lol!!!
They said the same fucking thing about Island, toughest or Horrific Vision as they're saying about delves
I came across a hunter in a dungeon during Wrath of the Lich King when it was current. The dude was begging the group to let him tame a spider in one of the dungeons. He told us it was because "Everyone hates spiders, and it would give him an advantage in PVP if people are throwing up cause he has a spider pet." I'd like to think that is the guy who is hard Dobby on the fact that there is going to be an Arachnophobia filter. And he is just going around to everyone's streams to downvote the idea hard, at least in my own head cannon.
Shadow Word: Bonk
Shadow Priest spell
Permanently reduce all damage dealt by the Priest. This effect stacks.
Automatically cast whenever the Priest shows up on the damage meter.
I am mythic raider, I have CE from all 3 raids, and I am still excited for season 4 (with one disclaimer, I hope the bosses are not overtuned, I want it to be fun season, with very fast progression - for people who already killed it). I think this type of season is much better than having 1+year season at the end of the expansion as we had almost every expansion before. Imo most of the people who hate season 4, are no longer playing anyway, maybe raid logging, maybe not even doing that. And for those, what is the difference? just take a break, come back on prepatch, it is not really different from what you are doing anyway. While people who actually enjoy this type of season can have fun instead, while waiting for the expansion. Its not like they traded real new raid or content for that, the new content working force has already switched full to expansion after s3 content was finalized. Only alternative would be revisiting some of the older expansion raid instead, but we are sorting getting that as well with that mist of pandaria thing.
And for m+ who cries about going back to dungeons we already did. I dont understand that either. All 8 of those dungeons, were literally only played 1 season (around 6 monoth) with 6-12month break as of now. While every other expansions before, we played same 8-10dungeons for the whole expansions (3-4season, +-2years). DF dungeons will still keep incredibly fresh to me compared to almost anything else.
That one dev knows what hes talking about
Love the Affix answer. Seasonal can be not as interesting to some players.. and the rest of the sentence would be .."so we decide to make it not interesting for all.players."
even at the lower level you can feel the effects of over abundance of defensives in pve, if you play or level any class with a normal amount of defensive or even lacking defensives you just feel like you get stomped even in 1v1 leveling fights while you get on a dk or dh etc it feels like you can take on groups pf 20+ enemies.
it doesnt feel good to be struggling to kill 1 elite while a dk runs by pulling the entire area on similar gear/level.
Highest loot of delves like a Mythic 5 *now* or a Mythic 5 *in the new system*? That's a huge difference. The latter: Delves remain a pog way to get easy good gear. The former: Delves DOA.
Edit: i get that people hate swimming in WoW, i hate it myself but like. WHY do an underwater delve... if it's just gonna be a regular delve with headache-inducing screen overlay? What's the *point*?
"The goal is to make the player "Feel" like they have choice." Which is completely different from "giving the player a choice" definitely spoken like someone with "CEO Energy"
3 raids an expansion is so weak, thats 2 in a row now like this. IDC what blizzard says the expansions have been shrinkflation so hard
So shaman is a safe bet this next xpac
Unending breath warlocks win water delve
Delve guy at start: Nobody's managed to beat the hardest difficulty
Delve guy at end: Yeah, so there's a blood DK dev who's been testing them and they haven't died yet. My goal is to kill them... but we've only just started testing the hardest levels.
Kinda changed the narrative, no?
33:18 False, im a mythic raider and Id rather see them remove all addons next patch than having to setup private auras and shit like this. It´s bloated af.
Just remove all addons and dont design the game around people having them
Which would be huuuuge workload for blizz and would decrease Player experience for a signficant time until fixed (which max also said)
@@davidw.5984 ? No it wouldnt, its extreme workload for Blizz now to fight the addons constantly. And there would be no decrease in experience for players, because it affects only top 1%
52:43 Nah Asmon's chat is the biggest group of haters (when it comes to wow at least) on the internet I've ever seen. Those guys hate everything retail, every single change to that lot is bad. Blizzard can make a move around that crowd without, somehow, stepping on their toes.
Has ele even been like good since mop? and even then why not just bring a warlock.
The Delves challenge will only be cool if the reward for completing it is a sick cosmetic, ideally the cosmetic is unique to at least each class, but spec would be even better.
So Group Content again wins out over Solo Content, still leaving unbridged rewards (M+ 5 max loot) for those that sometimes have 5 minutes, sometimes have 2 hours, can't really commit or make time to consistently run M+ /sadeyes
The acracnophobia filter likely required like 10 engineering hours at most. People are just silly
Yeah they just need to replace the spider models with crabs. What a bad take by the doomers lol.
healers should just heal imo, but maybe im just old :d
Couldnt they make dbm integrated easier than wa?
shaman would be brough to raid if they didnt give lust to mage
Sonic drowning
Love how Max is always noticing and talking about the most boring useless random crap he sees in videos, like a guy staying warm in the office, somebody's eyes randomly rolling etc. 😂 Now I am imagining someone commenting like this in real life, thats pure ahole level 😂
Nagura looks like shes in a classroom in a ye olde school building 😂
Hope for follower dungeons - your warband fills out your group.
Blizz should just hire the weak aura devs and build weak auras into the game.
M+ was very balanced. I ran through a few on feral druid even, and people act like feral is terrible, but I did top dps in those keys while doing some ok off healing
Gotta respect max going down for a line every time he doesnt have much to say
