Korobeniki is a traditional russian song written years before the Bolsheviks took power, so short answer: no, it is not communist long answer: no, but it was made in the Soviet era so got to give credit there for communizing a traditional Russian song
In music class we was taught the Tetris song was based on a Russian folklore song. Lyrics was “Treasures i have in my korobushka can you hear the peddlers cry, though you see me in rags in tatter I wear a smile upon my face” I don’t know how I still remember that 😅
The truth is, the tetris anthem and that Soviet Union choir is actually the Russian folk song which name "Korobeiniki" and very original version is from 1861 and do have story for the song. *Source from Google, not sure if true but let's just think it is. Of course, the song is not about communism.*
I'm not talking about history or now what is happening. But i always think Russian folks melodies are really on another level. You really won't hear like them anywhere.
Hard these days the original song was written during harsh (which was the golden age for russian literature and music) and it was made a song theme also during hard times where creativity is hard to find

Because Tetris is actually is it going to freak a lot of people out it’s a Russian made game. It was developed in the last year’s. Of the Soviet union, but it is Russian.
This is because the tetris game was originally invented in the soviet union. so naturally, the person living there wouldve been of one of the soviet nationalities and based the theme on a soviet choir song
while Tetris was invented in the USSR by Alexei Pajitnov, he wasn't the one who put this song to the game - he was coding on a Soviet clone of a mid-80s computer that didn't really have sound output because it wasn't necessary (he did it on his work computer during breaks, so the game was property of the government agency he worked for) - it was Nintendo who put Korobeiniki together with Tetris and turned it into "the Tetris song".
The song was added by the game's publisher to add a Russian flavor to it. The game was created by a Russian so western publishers added a Russian folk song to market it. The song however is a sort of love song about a guy meeting his lover on a rye field where he bought gifts to her and they spent the night doing the "business".
The truth is, the tetris anthem and that Soviet Union choir is actually the Russian folk song which name "Korobeiniki" and very original version is from 1861 and do have story for the song. *Source from Google, not sure if true but let's just think it is. It was not originally a Soviet Union choir song. Though the Red Army sang it, it was written long before the Russian revolution.
