Thank you for this information. My niece is doing her second year at UJ, but she is pregnant and they don't allow her to stay at Res when she's 7 months gone. She's 6 months and won't go back there next semester, meaning she won't finish her second year but she is willing to continue next year, 2025, with her course at another university nearby here in KZN because of the baby. How should she go about this process, will she be able to get NSFAS after this semester gap? She is doing Chemical Engineering, please advise.
If she won't deregister for this year, then she will continue getting her Nsfas allowances this year. But the issue is that she will not write her exams and that will mean she will obviously fail her exams and Nsfas will reject her.
Next year she can appeal for Nsfas and say she couldn't continue her studies due to the fact that she was pregnant but she must keep in mind hat she'll be left with only 2 years from nsfas to continue funding her if they approve her appeal
ow thank you so much darling I've been worried yho 🥺
❤️
Hey, I de-registered at a college but the course I was doing is a 4yrs course but I have to register every year, so I deregister at my first year because I don't want the course, I want to do the course I want at university, so will nsfas fund me?
Hey and yes, Nsfas will still fund you.
Hello, I would like to know will one have to register with their own money 1st and then they receive NSFAS afterwards
I'm sure alot of people who are using the bursary will find this helpful👌
Congratulations on more than 500 subbies 🎉
Thank you so much and I hope I explained it properly 🥰
Hi I'm currently a transfering student and I haven't received my allowances apparently they saying my they can't pick my data from my current school am registered with 😢
When I transfered it took me 3/4 months for my allowances to get activated. Just be patient and if possible, put preasure on Nsfas
My problem is the waiting game, I have no money while I’ll be waiting. ☹️
Unfortunately patience is what is needed 🙆♀️
Thank you for uploading this video 😭😭😭 where are the Nsfas offices?? Apparently their headquarters are in CPT. Unless you're referring to financial assistance offices of a particular institution
The last time I checked, there's one in Pretoria. Try calling them and hopefully they will answer and also try going to the financial offices at your institution to also get assistance
Hey can I ask if you were not funded by any bursary, then you want to change the University go to a different one do you have to pay the debt first??
Hey, if you were not funded than unfortunately you will have to pay for the debt or else they not release your academic results
Even do I apply for a different course using my matric results? I will not use my academic transcript
I am not sure about that but what I know is that they going to ask you if you've studied at another institution and you cant lie about about
though*
Thank you I wanted to know about this since I'll be doing a first year next year at NMU but I wanna transfer to UJ the second year
Hopefully everything works out for you ❤
Plz help where can I find nsfas office. I have changed institution
Hope everyone who needs this comes across this video!
🙏❤
Thanks hey🎉
Hii my sister...i was at tvet doing N1 engeneering nd i am planning to go to TUT next year for first year new course....will nsfas still fund me or should i apply again? I really need your help
Hey. If you are at Tvet this year and you pass all your modules than there is no need to nsfas but that's if you were funded mara if you weren't studying this year, then you will have to reapply for nsfas.
@@lethabosibeko yeah i was studying nd they funded me this year...So meaning i should re apply
@@lethabosibeko can i get your email or number if you dont mind
If you seere studying this year then there is no need to re apply for Nsfas but I also suggest that you send Nsfas a message on one of their social media platform just to be on the safe side
Lethabisibeko@gmail.com
Hey Did you fill any forms of transfer at TUT before relocating to UMP..and if you did how was the process?
Hey, I didn't fill any forms. I just didn't register the beginning of the year
I made mistake on my Nsfas status I have two existing status, First 1 is application approved and the second one is withdrawn by me as I applied it by mistake. so I don't know which one they consider between the two
Hey and don't worry. As long as the other one is on approved than you funded.
I went to NSFAS to ask what should I do since I want to transfer next year and they said I must apply again for NSFAS but many articles I read say I shouldn't apply again for NSFAS...I am lost
There is no need to reapply for Nsfas. You will automatically be funded. Speaking from experience
Hi, I am currently doing my second year in applied math and computer science at UJ and I would like to change my majors to mathematics and computer science in the same university. Is NSFAS going to continue sponsoring me ?
Thanks
Yes. Nsfas will fund you for only two years since you already used up two years. So be aware of that.
Can you appeal before they have accepted you to anather institution, let's say u left the coarse and applied for a new coarse in anather university, can u appeal before they have accepted you?
Appeal for?
Yho thank you I needed this, but will NSFAS still fund me if I decide to take a gap year and register to another institution?
Yes nsfas will still fund but bare in mind that you'll need to reapply for it.
Eyy thank you so much for an amazing step by step explanation! I registered at TUT and it's going to be my first year, I haven't started classes yet and I got accepted at Ufs. Would take that long for nsfas to get my data base if I decide on transferring before starting the year with TUT?
In your case since you a first year student, I don't think it will take long . Just deregister at Tut as soon as possible and than register at UFS
Will nsfas fund me for the 2nd time. I finished at a tvet college now I want to register at a university . Will I be funded
Hey, unfortunately nsfas will not fund you for the second time.
Whats happens if you fail modules , will you be able to transfer??
Hey, I am not sure about that
I transferred from Wits to Uj, it has been 6 months waiting for nsfas😭❤ But thank u for reinforcing my hope❤
I definitely understand. Everything will eventually work out 🙏❤️
Same situation😢
Did you finally receive it 😢
@@SbusisoInnocent-ns9qu I received it late September.
@@seventeen_7teen Hey. I also transferred from Wits to UJ. On my nsfas portal I'm funded, but my student number is not on the UJ nsfas funded list. What should I do?
Hey my love
Where exactly are the Nsfas offices besides the ones in Cape Town?
Hey, I am not sure. Please kindly search on Google
What about if i want to change from college to university..is it still the same??
Hey and yes, it's possible
So if you're doing a 4 uear degree and uou tranfer to UCT to do a 5 year degree does nsfas still cover those 5 years in total basically the 6 years counting the one feom your previous varsity?
Unfortunately not. Nsfass has a N+rule meaning it funds you the years of your degree and it adds a year. That means if you chose a 3 year degree, nsfas will fund you 4 years.
So basically since you already doing 1st year out of your 4 year degree, meaning when you transfer to UCT, nsfas will fund you four years
Thank you for the explanation 🥰🥰🥰
You welcome ❤
You welcome ❤
Does NSFAS cover flight costs?, because I am in Mpumalanga and UWC has accepted me, and the flight prices are skyrockecting
Hey, Nsfas only covers for transport allowance, food allowance, institution allowance and accommodation allowance
If I want to change university to another,do I re apply?
I need help, i registered at triumphant college in 2022 to do psychology. Then the school applied Nsfaf for me and i was accepted. Nsfas payed my tuition fees but i didn't receive any loan. Then i put my studies on hold at that school because i wasn't attending classes or do any assignments. That's because i wasn't active to go through their portal. I was only activated late while others finished writing exam for the first semester.
Hey, what help do you want?
I want NSFAF to continue paying for me at IUM.
Do I have to reapply for NSFAS if I change course at the same institution??
Hey and no, you don't have to reapply
@@lethabosibeko thanks alot dear
Where are NSFAS offices?
Bathong Ke batla nsfas and at my school nsfas does not cover that
Where are you schooling?
Hello..I want to deregister from UP to VUT but I failed one major module at UP will NSFAS fund me ? If I change?
Hey, please contact the institution to get clarity on that.
Hi. Do you pay your own registration fee when you transfer ? Even when you are using NsFaS ? Or does it pay
Unfortunately you will have to pay for it but you will be refunded back
@@lethabosibeko Yoh🥺😭 okay thank you 🙏
Dear i transfered to University of Mpumalanga but unfortunately by this month i still haven't got my allowances though my registration data have been sent to nsfas in june. Where are the NSFAS offices
Hey, I'm sorry to hear that. Nsfas offices are based at Capetown. Have you tried callijg Nsfas regarding this issue?
How did it go?
Hi Lethabo, I am in my 2nd year doing a 3-year course and wanna transfer to another university to do a 4 year course but I know that they will admit me in the second year even though I'll pass my 2nd year, will NSFAS still fund my studies...?
You already did 2 years at another institution, meaning Nsfas will fund you for tge remaining 2 years and not the whole 4 year degree
@@lethabosibeko No, I will be admitted in the 2nd year, meaning NSFAS will have to fund me for 3 years, from the 2nd to fourth year at the institution I will be transferred to, although I have already completed 2 years at another institution. is that possible
I need help on what i should do for NSFAF to continue paying for me at IUM
How long as Nsfas funded you?
For 1 year
Than it will continue funding you for extra 3 years
Hi, If I was doing a 3 year course but did two years then switch to a 2 year course how many years of funding do I have left?
I've never heard there's a two year course but in your case, that will mean you left with 2 years to receive funding
@@lethabosibekoalryt thanks it's a diploma course from CUT
Since they cover your funding for 5 years, does it matter if I transfer in my third or fourth level? That's obviously if I planned to get another bursary to finish up the remaining 1 or 2 years after the 5 years of NSFAS gets finished.....I don't even know if my question makes sense, I hope you understand.
Your question makes absolute sense. You can transfer in your third year and that will mean you'll be left with 2 years meaning nsfas will fund you for 2 years than the last year, you responsible for your fees.
Oh mos it simple they do everything for you
Yebo yes.
Hi Lethabo can I please ask I am getting confused here. ok I did my first year in 2022( studying a three years degree at Central University of Technology(Free State) using nsfas) passed all my modules but then this year in 2023 I changed to University of Mpumalanga also doing a three years degree funded by nsfas. Do you think I am going to have any problems as we go forward like being excluded because of n+ rule?
Hey, you won't be excluded because Nsfas funds you the years of your first degree which waa 3 years plus a extra 1 year which makes it 4 years in total.
Since you've already used the 1 year at Free state, meaning you are left with exactly 3 years of finding.
To answer your question, you went be excluded unless you fail.
@@lethabosibekoThank you alot Lethabo
@lethabosibeko does she have to appeal or apply for the n+1 rule or it will happen automatically given they did well academically?
As long as she/he passed, nsfas won't exclude them and that will mean there won't be any use of appealing
The process is a bit of a struggle but you explained everything so nicely
Thank you💕
Hey. I registered at TUT this year but I’ve been accepted at another university, and there at TUT I’ve been approved by Nsfas. Must I deregister at TUT ?
Hey, since you already registered at Tut, you will have to deregister in order to register at another institution then Nsfas will be the updated registration list from your new institution.
thank you, my sis, I have the same story but a bit different. I have changed an institution from CPUT (2020) to TUT (2021), the problem is that I registered and deregistered in CPUT on the year I was leaving, then i went to tut 2021 I was funded by NSFAS 2022 I have not received any allowance from nsfas and it's August now, on the offices they telling me to wait nsfas will fix my things. when I phone them they do not pick up at all.... what should I do
Hey, that's what happened to me and I as I mentioned on my other video's, institutions are different. Some institutions things get processed and some things just get delayed.
Just keep on going to the financial aid office and pressure them because TUT is just slow to process things and Nsfas hardly answer their calls but just try also sending them direct messages on all their social media platforms.
Rest assured is when everything gets sorted, all you money will be allocated to you including the book allowance
If I deregister from my current course in spetember and apply for a new course for next year, what's that process like?
The process is the same as explained but I wouldn't advise you to deregister now on September not knowing if they had accepted you at another institution or another course
@@lethabosibeko hey thank you for responding so quickly, I'm busy currently applying for other courses
You're an angel 😇😭🔥🔥
Thank you so much 😍
Hey what about the school fees if you not funded yet
Don't worry about the school fees. If you get funded at the later stage then Nsfas will pay all your fees
Thank you for walking us through this process
❤
this was actually super helpful!!
❤
This is valuable information for people
❤
Love how you walked us through it nice video.
🥰
Hey sis do I have to mention that I'm studying this year wen applying to a new institution?
Are you applying for 1st year or you wanna continue with your course?
@@lethabosibeko 1st year
According to my knowledge, there is no need to mention that you transferring
This was helpful thank you 👌
❤
Aww thank you Sis❤❤❤🔥💃
You welcome 🥰🥰💕
How about when i change courses?
If you change courses then you apply the same way. No need for complications
Do I have to tell them that I'm at another university? Or should I tell them that I have taken a gap year?😢
Are you at another university or you took a gap year?
Informative ❤❤
❤
when month had your academic year started and what month did you get the funding?
I got it around July and the academic year started in February
the process seems hectic though. I'm also planning to transfer to another institution next year. The other institution is just waiting for my second semester results, i am a bit nervous about this nsfas issue. I'm even thinking of not transfering so as to not tamper with my funding because yoh this year they treated me well. i had no problems whatsoever with them. so does nsfas have its own offices or you get them offices within these institutions?
Nsfas has their own offices but I am not sure where the offices are based and as I said, it all depends with the institution if they'll be fast with the process or not but I can advice you that you won't lose your funding in condition that you pass all your modules
what do i do if while i was applying nsfas i mentioned uj ...but i got accepted by another university .. what should i do ???
It does happen so don't worry.
Just register at the institution you accepted at then Nsfas will see that
Hi there I wanted to know whether you paid the registration fee,or they allowed you to register without paying it since you had nsfas .
Hey, I paid the registration fee
@@lethabosibeko did you apply for a refund, nsfas covers it right?
@@mhlengindlovu8450 Hey, yes I applied for registration refund since nsfas covers that and I got it
