LRPS2 PARALLEL renderer is GOATED. It upscales and super samples and it does not break up 2D elements or cause weird artifacts and other misc visual glitches. The GPU hardware accelerated software emulation with upscaling is the best way to experience PS2 games now. This is how an uspcaled PS2 game should be looking in emulation.

They need to implement folder mem cards. Also like I said before, the database is still quite a bit outdated, so a lot of patches are missing and automatic hw fixes are outdated. If they can do these things it will be good.
Thanks for the tutorial. I have the bios folder only in the root of pcsx2 and haven't had any issues so far. So I don't think it needs to be in the resources folder.
It allows for the use of shaders and compatibility in platforms where PCSX2 is not available. Take Android, for example, where AetherSX2 is closed source and has been abandoned.
Well I could not get this going on the Linux flatpak sadly. The core downloads fine, but the extra files downloader doesn't seem to download anything. It says it does, but there's nothing where it should be. I'll try it again at a later date.
@VideoGameEsoterica hi dude, thanks for replying. I did try that actually, in two different locations as you said but it still didn't work. I think I'm missing that Gamelist.yaml file.
@VideoGameEsoterica If it's not updated then I guess it would eventually fall behind the standalone. This is very cool since I prefer using RA when it's worth it. I can only assume that's the issue with dolphin on Retroarch?
I haven't really kept up on RA recently, but is it still a convoluted mess of endless cores and unintuitive controller abstraction layers? Asking for a friend... Also, great job on the video still bait. 😂
As someone who shares your opinion on Retroarch being a bit of a mess, I'd recommend trying it with a front end such as Launch Box. Launch Box at least has enough integration with Retroarch that you really don't need to fiddle too much with Retroarch itself.
@@PM-xc8oo I actually paid for a couple lifetime licenses of LB/BB back in 2015 because of the brilliant work Jason was doing. Considering the decade of work that's gone into it since, I hope more people buy/donate to the project. Recently I've been experimenting more with Batocera and Linux distros, but yeah, that dependency on RA drives me nuts sometimes. Still beter than MAME though... 😂
Why i would want a new PS2 Emulator that doesn't run the PS2 Based Arcade games ? Unless its more friendly play for people on Non-Windows OS due to being in LibRetro.
I stared at the thumbnail way longer than I should've before pressing play..
🤣
That lady has a pretty impressive butt. lol
Many a few young lads were _awaken_ by Ivy
Haha the designers knew what they were doing there
While I only understand like 70% of what you talk about, I am absolutely still here for the other 30!

Thanks for sharing! I’m looking forward to trying this on my Steam Deck!
I may do a steam deck specific vid next weekend. In case people need it
@ yes, that would be awesome!
I’ll look into it
awesome as always
Glad you liked!

I’m sure more changes and improvements will be coming now that the core is out
It's showing on Xbox Dev Mode, but continues to crash. I can hear the game, but can't see the picture. When I set it to Vulkan, it crashes.
Set Vulkan to the renderer in both RetroArch primary and the core
I don't see an option for Vulkan for primary for some reason. @@VideoGameEsoterica

It’s odd it did not appear for me. Probably day 1 issues. So I figured if I told people to put it both places they’d be covered
Pretty cool to have a PS2 working core on RetroArch but honestly - PCSX2 is so good so why even bother?
Some people like just assembling all their emulation under one roof. Also the new rendered has fixed some bugs that still exist in PCSX2
I wish we could build pcsx2 as a core .
It allows for the use of shaders and compatibility in platforms where PCSX2 is not available. Take Android, for example, where AetherSX2 is closed source and has been abandoned.
@ Yeah this is fair enough but is it as polished as PCSX2?
@ 100% agree - it is so polished and runs pretty much everything flawlessly!
These guides are probably really good. But I’ll struggle on my self then have to listen to your information
Just how I talk

You can create the folders yourself too

Hmm. Odd. Sorry I don’t really use Linux all that much but I’ll ask some people I know who do
@@VideoGameEsoterica DW, thanks dude. I'll try it again in a month or two. 👍
LRPS2 is not visible in retroarch on android i updated everything but the core is not in the list?
Not available for iOS or Android yet. Just Windows / Mac / Linux
@@VideoGameEsoterica thanks
👍
How's performance compared to standalone PCSX2?
Seems par to me

How do you get your ps2 saves from your memory card onto a computer ?
You can use an application to open the card and import saves you find online. MyMC
How goes inputlag in gradius V?
Haven’t tested it. Check and lmk :)
Dang bios folders and their not appearing shenanigans!
Haha yeah no matter what I did that folder would not create itself
Thirst works lol. Is that with a texture pack?
Nope just internally upscaled 4K
@ wild. The thigh/hip crease looks like it could be PS4 gen
Just a lot more clarify in the detail the artists put in
Would ya recommend this over the one on emudeck?
No real opinion yet. Both are great and I’m checking both out

Haha gotta pick intriguing thumbnails. RetroArch hasn’t changed much on the UI no

I need to do a front end vid one of these days

It’s just the convenience factor
I think that unlike PCSX2, this requires specific instruction sets from newer CPUs, because it crashes on launch on my machine
Change renderer to Vulkan
When it out for android
🤷🏻♂️
This core is still outdated compared to PCSX2. The PCSX2 standalone is the way to go.
Having more than one option is still good
Copy bios from original ps2 ok got that😂
🤷🏻♂️😉

Haha just how it goes
I hate RetroArch. I use standalone emulator whenever possible.
That’s fair. Everyone gets to pick
If you hate RetroArch why are you watching a video about RetroArach? Go have some fun playing games on standalone emulators. LOL.
lol well he gave me a view. Let him watch!
First!
Ten more points!
