Stunning. In the UK we have the Sparrow Hawk which is very similar to the Sharp-Shinned Hawk. They are incredible hunters whose speed and agility is almost supernatural. It's kind of like death comes out of nowhere, bang, finito.
Awesome carvings !!! as a painter I know many of the difficulties that you must come across to get such a high standard in the end product ! So can I ask what is your preferred timber to use as a medium to carve with ? And do you use timber purchased in a block form like I saw in the video or do you incorporate natural timbers that can be found lying around in nature as well as the block form that you use ?
Thank you Sandstorm9562 for the compliments and respiratory concern. I always wear a good dust mask when carving. The TV show that filmed this asked me to do a quick demo for the segment and at the time didn't have the mask with me. Thanks again for your concern. All the best,
Absolutely fantastic!!! For those out there that respond with idiotic remarks it only shows that they have no idea what the work, patience, skill and foresight is needed to create such masterpieces. Anyone who creates art of whatever fashion is to be applauded. As a would be carver I can only look in awe. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder? . . . it's certainly in mine!! A-mazing!!! Praise whoever that such talent is out there!!
Thanks for your nice compliments. It is when I see the bird in nature itself is when i get the strong urge to recreate with what I see. and feel a presence with it.
MR.TIM AS A BIRD LOVER SINCE CHILDHOOD YOU HAVE AMAZED ME WITH SUCH BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS. YOU BRING SUCH WONDERFUL CREATURES TO LIFE WITH YOU WOOD CARVINGS. I WISH I COULD HAVE THE SKILLS YOU HAVE TO CREATE MY OWN BIRD COLLECTION. AS A CHILD MY GRANDMA AND RELATIVES INCLUDING MY MOTHER HAD BIRDS...I WAS SO INTO THEM (BIRDS) I LEARNED TO SING LIKE THEM. I'D LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU SELL SMALL FIGURINES TO THE PUBLIC AND IF SO WHAT ARE THE PRICES??? THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR PRECIOUS COLLECTION. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Hi Nancy Thank you for your nice complements, Yes I do sell my work and also take commissions for specific birds you would like. Please write me threw my www.natureswings.org contact page and we can talk in a private setting about it. I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks, Tim
Hi from Australia Tim, we have the perigrine falcon here and in a dive can reach terminal velocity. You probably knew that, you are a true artist and a perfectionist, all the best.
Fantastic work, a woodcarver I once knew told me that the wood tells him what to carve, it could be sat in the workshop for months waiting and he would not touch it until (it told him what was inside), how dose it work for you?.
Fantastic work! Could I suggest a bit of respiratory protection though? Breathing in sawdust isn't good for your lungs. It would be a shame to lose a talent like that to preventable illness. Take care!
When I carve a Raptor I get the sense of the strength of the animal and as I finish it I feel like I could actually fly with it! Does that seem as crazy to you as it sounds when I have written this out?
Tim, I am sure you have already thought of this, but to be able to get up close with most birds of prey to study them, you should contact the North American Falconers Association at www.n-a-f-a.com/ as there are many falconers who would be happy to let you study their birds.
+David Hadar Depends on the individual and what they are wanting to achieve as the end result. Painting it to me brings the wood to life and helps capture the species of bird I am trying to create to look more lifelike.
Iam blown away by your attention to detail your carvings could almost take flight.
Guau!, estas esculturas tienen alma, miren sus ojos ,hay vida ahí, gracias.
Great work 💪look forward to seeing more
Tim, These birds are just beautiful. What a challenge they are in trying to re-create.I love the thought to try and do it. who !

Hi Joan Beck you are right. Tim's work is amazing, and so beautiful to look at.

Whoever gave the thumbs down for this video should have their untalented thumbs snapped off.
Those who gave a thumbs down, are fans of the plastic pink flamingo.
