My nephew works for the Bacardi rum company! In 2001 when he came to visit me in Chicago, he brought me a bottle that to this day I still have untouched!👌😂👍 great history!
Rum was produced on Islands of Puerto Rico, especially Vieques and some in Culebra. The best rum party I ever attended was on the Island of Palominos and friends have attended rum parties on Icacos and Isleta Marina. All the Islands of Puerto Rico go better with rum, maybe that is why the movie RUM DIARIES was filmed in Puerto Rico.
Interesting video, btw, Bacardi arrived in 1936 to distill in the building that today Archivo General. In 1944 Bacardi began to export from Puerto Rico. Later, it moved from San Juan to Catano.
I respectfully disagree. You did mention a few great rums, like Don Q and Trigo. However, you also mentioned ron Palo Viejo a rum used more for mixed drinks and cocktails. Three star Ron del Barrilito is an award winning rum known by connoisseurs the world over. In my honest opinion, it was a glaring omission on your part, to say the least. You, can't mention all of the names, reasoning doesn't excuse the unfortunate omission of a signature Puerto Rican rum. I don't mean this as an attack on your channel. I very much enjoy your videos and applaud your efforts. However, I firmly believe you should have included Ron del Barrilito to do justice to the topic. Best wishes, and continued success!
Why is the rum always gone?? 😂😂......I use Palo Viejo rum when I make coquito!....Also, when I was young my cousins and I would get sugar cane from a neighbor farmer and just suck on the pieces of the sugar cane and it was delicious!!!
The cultivation of sugar cane and the production of Rum was brought to Puerto Rico and other areas of the Caribbean specifically by Canarian immigrants who were specialists in this crop. Even today on the island of Gran Canaria there is the oldest Rum factory in the European Union. The Arehucas Rum Factory.🇮🇨🥤🇵🇷
@DoramasGuanarteme No, The production of Rum was not brought to Puerto Rico or the Caribbean from the Canary Islands..Sugar cane was but Rum originated in the Carribbean as a byproduct of sugarcane..The oldest Rum distillery, Arehucas Distillery in the Canary Islands was established in 1884 way after it was established in the Caribbean..
Delicioso! Me gusta el Ron con Coca Cola de botella, y hielo molido! Tambien en Pina Colada, el Coquito es incomparable, echale canelita por encima y pa-dentro! El Pitorro es fuerte, cojelo suave! 😅🤣😂

Don Q has a rum that is as smooth as can be. Gran Añejo is the name, it’s great for sipping silky and tasty.
