So glad to hear a dyer focus on tonal colors. I don't like to knit shawls or socks (I only wear black socks, LOL) and certainly not spend hundreds of dollars on crazy colors. I like garment knitting and prefer solid or tonal yarns and when I do colorwork I prefer solid colors. I wish more dyers understood the market they are ignoring. I would buy 5 skeins of one tonal color, but never 5 skeins of crazy variegated yarn.
If I had to choose a desert island (fingering weight) yarn, from what I have ever knit to date, my favorite is Candy Skein Yummy Fingering which is a 75/25. It's soft, plump, and durable. Definitely my favorite!
I also wear leggings as tights because I've found some great heat tech ones that work well on a cold day. My dresses are typically knee length if they are shorter say above my knee I'll wear jeggings as they are thicker. I'm way too old to wear leggings as trousers/pants ! I've been watching from the beginning when Mina (knitting expat) recommended you so congratulations on your podaversairy
I'm with you when it comes to leggings 🤣 need to treat them as an accessory to your outfit. I'm also with you on the yarn base...Merino all the way 👍 Great podcast, thank you xx
Even though most of my knitting is done with fingering weight yarn, I would pick Malabrigo Rios because whenever I knit something with it I fall in love with it all over and they have gorgeous, rich colors.
I REALLY love that shocking pink yarn. I would love for you to make more of that yarn to sell. The other colors are beautiful, too, but that pink is awesome!
Hi Andy! Nice to watch you podcasting, but through your vlogs I got used to seeing you often anyway! I live on an island, not deserted, but in front of me are Kornati island archipelago, and I used to take there any cotton yarn I had, as it is mostly too warm for anything else to hold and knit :) Nice dyed yarn, pink is my fav so far. And I live in my leggings, and they are no pants indeed!!! Hugs from Croatia, Ada
I have done one project with helical stripes but I could never really get the hang of it. Plus, I don't mind the ridge as much as most people - I don't even bother with tricks to try and get jogless stripes.
My desert island yarn base is bfl (I don't mind the scratchy!) but I also love Romney. Again it's quite firm. I completely agree with the leggings debate. They should be worn with an over garment !!
What do you find the difference to be between Stroll and Felici? I don't think I've ever had a skein of each at the same time, so I've never made a side-by-side comparison.
To me the Stroll seems to have nicer stitch definition and seems to have a nicer "look" to it. I also prefer the way it picks up the dye - although that might just be my imagination! And Stroll is s bit less expensive (not much though) :)
Preach it! LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS! We're a dying breed, though.
absolutely!
Yes indeed!

My desert island yarn base would also absolutely be Felici.
Welcome to Alabama!
Have you tried Helical Stripes yet? So much fun, twice the excitement of regular stripes and no ridge!

@@10000StitchesPodcast did you try Jen arnall culliford's video?

Mine would be 75/25 merino wool fingering. You could aways double for dk, triple fo worsted .
True! I didn't even think about that!
For me it would have to be Knit Picks Stroll fingering bare. i also like Felici but if I have to choose only o e it would have to be Stroll :)
