If you get the chance, you should try out the Nio with the FiR O module! It offers the best sound imo
Where can you buy that module? I keep looking for it and I keep seeing the atom one.
@@meltinini7920 Just email FiR Audio and ask for that specific one. You can buy the 4 pack (Atom XL modules) for $150 too
@@titienne1937 What's the difference between the FiR O vs the Atom XL modules?
@@meltinini7920 Isolation and sub bass mostly. You can see the differences on the website.
Favorite IEM I’ve heard in a while! :)
The quality of these videos is so great. Subscribed and bell turned on \m/
Outstanding review Andrew, one of your best, thank you.
there's a person in the fr graph at 7:39. turn your head 90 degrees counterclockwise
Yes.
Lol and a very recognisable figure indeed.
Will you try the unique melody MEST? I heard it at a shop for 10 minutes and it’s the best IEM I have heard. My number 2 would be the z1r.
Shat youre mouse smol men!!!
I have both...the Nios sound better; the z1r is better built, like a tank. Love them both, but if I had to pick one for sound, Nio.
How does a 12t compare to mk2 monarch
I own the A18Ts, I tried the U12T. Can’t part with my A18Ts so far the best clarity and very detailed and awesome soundstage as well as excellent controlled bass. I can’t wear universal I have weird ear fit. I just wish the odins came custom fit. Happy holidays everyone!!
The new 18s sucks azz and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpriced. A18t much better
@@Usernotknown21 agree.
@@dzemoski45 you heard it?
@@Usernotknown21 I own it
@@dzemoski45 so u think it's crap for the price too? I know crinacle and other reviewers, reviews that will admit when something is crap, they all say it's not good
Thinking this would be good for on stage in-ear monitor for Bass Player.
Hi Andrew Andrew, I’m just getting into high end IEMs and find your reviews fantastic thank you. Were you using a DAC/DAP for the Nio, and if so what would you recommend? I tried them through the audioeze dragonfly red dongle and thought they were awesome, however do you think you get much more out of a Mojo2 DAC ?
Great review im still on my u12t the next iem I have been eyeing is unique melody mest
I am still in love with U12t. Considering nio as an alternative of U12t. If you have listened to Mest which provides similar sound of U12t please let me know.
@@shaikhshahriyar8703 hello, the best way i can describe for my ears of the UM mest is that its not as detail, at least not of the level of the u12t but i maybe in the mood for the dynamic driver bass vs the BA bass. That trade off maybe enough for most ppl who wants a flavored thump with the bass (mainly listen to rock and metal but edm and hip sounds fun on the lowend) The setup i have is the cayin n3pro tubed with the mest with its 3.5m termination while the 4.4 balanced i go with the u12ts (hiby r6pro). I have not demoed the nio so im not sure which maybe more detailed vs the mest. For me um mest sounds really good tubed (musically fun) and the u12ts balanced all the way (analytical fun). Hope my input helps.
Spectacular Review, very thorough. Bravo! You mentioned that you used Dakoni audio ear tips. Do you remember what models you used? I just ordered the Nio's after listening to your review. I want the best seal as possible with full comfort. BTW: I enjoy listening to your reviews, you really convey the info an audiophile as well as non-audiophiles need to know.
I just got a pair of Fiio FH7S and I love it 😂😂😂
Do you use EQ with the Meze Empyrean? Is so, could you share it? Thanks!
For the images. They have Chambers instead of pipes. Better like a speaker. Then quality of b,driver. Then the raised 400 to 800 hz to give the voice for a like more real live show tone
Do you see them making a CIEM counterpart? Also, there will never be a reason to leave "thank you for such meaningful reviews" out of every comment I make (seriously man, keep it up), so that too ❤️
The N8 is essentially Nio in a CIEM.
And $499 seemed a lot to pay for the Polaris 2 "basshead" IEM
please do a video on the best IEMS for gaming. Tracking enemy footsteps clearly I realize this doesnt really fit your nornal reviews but youre trusted and you know way more and have access to more iems than anyone on earth pretty much. itd get a ton of views and believe it or not a lot of people wanna use iems for gaming and theres no real in depth reviews and reccommendations from reviewers like yourself. imaging is everything and some of the iems for gaming that ive been able to find that people reccomend are the tin t2 the bgvp dmg and the ie800
thank you
Yeah. I don't really use them personally for gaming but I think a lot of people do. I'll consider it. Best at the moment I think would be the campfire Ara. Tia Fourte and EE Odin at the crazy high end. Maybe Blessing 2 at the more modest price range.
I have my pair of custom IEMs from when 1964 first started. They had great prices back then. Out of my league now.
Hey man great review. It's definitely quite more expensive, how is the Nio vs. the Trio? I know you reviewed and really liked the Trio just wanted to know how it is vs Nio/U12t and your thoughts.
I own a Trio and really love that hybrid tuning + overall technical performance, I've listened to Empire and they just have ridiculous slam and Nio sounds similar to that type of approach. It's super fun though!
Great review but what do you think of neo vs legend x? I think later will have even more bass than neo, isn't it? & also have you heard qdc Anole vx & aaw canary?
Legend x has better technical performance but a less desirable bass shelf in my opinion. Like, it's too much.
imo for an basshead iem, you don't need to spend that much to get similar result... if i spend that much i'll definitely go for more balanced pair
Yup. That's why he left out the real competition in that price range
if nio and n8's overbearing bass shelf could be so easily controlled by some simple mod on back vent, why did 64 audio decide to tune nio like that ..
like just a 5db cut on the bass would have made nio a perfectly balanced yet still bassy iem
Great review
Legend X is still the ultimate basshead's dream
@Jacob Dawson LX is a hybrid
@Jacob Dawson better than u12t or vx?
@Jacob Dawson how do YOU feel about those iems tho
I think this the one of the most beautiful looking iem ever. Would look perfect with my hip dac. (If I could afford it. 😭)
64 audio should do more designing like this one on other model for the amount..
IER Z1R When..
I wonder if it stacks up to the Unique Melody MEST at a similar price...
on paper i think MEST has greater all round abilities than Nio... it's all down to tuning and personal preference....
in terms of bass quantity - Nio vs Hero vs Legend X - how do you rate it?
Legend x, nio, hero. But... Legend X bass shelf doesn't come down early enough. It's also the most technically impressive though
Mest MKII vs Tia Trio ?
I bet the cca C12 could compete with these. and they are 6 drivers
What would you think a worthy pair would be around 2000 USD for someone that listens predominantly to classical music - mostly symphony work?
U12t
@@TheHEADPHONEShow thanks! Was looking at those as well - I'll give them a try!
Anything close for 150 to 200$
64 audio is setup for loud volumes. Theb the treble is never recessed . Pump the volume brother
Nio vs UM MEST? Still not convinced of Nio's build quality, particularly the chipping abalone faceplate -- th-cam.com/video/qRUbnA-k2BQ/w-d-xo.html
I have the MEST here at the moment and I'd definitely take the Nio over it. The MEST is highly detailed sure but it's a bit sibilant at 6khz, and lacks some dynamics so far. I need more time with it though and to test different tips. I should have a review here shortly.
@@TheHEADPHONEShow Ouch those are definitely dealbreaker for me. Looking forward to the full review!
Only thing that's disappointing is the cable, looks very fragile, nothing beats the SHURE cables nothing.
You want in ear for basshead?
Final e5000 is enough.
MEST is the best
I personally will not purchase from Audio 46.
I was looking to purchase a Klipsch headphone. Searched different sites. Went to Audio46 site. They had the headphone marked as on sale. The problem is, the raised the price by $2000 and then lowered it by $2000 for their "Sale." In other words they were advertising an item on sale and selling it at full retail price.
I won't give my money to any buisness with such lack of ethics.
64 Audio is not Audio46...
