Ah memories... So many hours spent at this park, admiring and riding the trains.. even played some baseball there.. Went to high school at the neighboring school.. GO LANCERS!!... I even got married at this same park.. but that is another story.. lol Thanks for sharing and stirring up old memories..
Thanks. Nice video. I am impressed with the equipment loading/unloading lift and transfer table. The local club "Utah Live Steamers" here finally just found a real home in Shay Park at Saratoga Springs, UT. Maybe that will get back into the hobby.
Hi Bill - Like how they get the equipment from the trailers to the turntable. A lot of fine railroad action. Thanks for the ride. • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway, “ A Toy Train Layout” 🚂
+littleevan99 I went to your channel and viewed the videos of your CliShay engine. Is your CliShay engine installed in an operating locomotive? If so, I would be very interested in seeing any videos or pictures of it you may have.
It's an operating locomotive, and I haven't posted any videos of me actually running it yet. It runs at the SVLS and the GGLS when I can make it. I have some videos, but they need editing.
Hello Bill got the video seen great here, because I have a lot of inspiration from myself am reflect with a ho model railroad inspired by America namely North west America. My name is Jan Veenstra living in Netherlands
My Bride , in profile photo, and I just moved up here to Citrus heights, near Sacramento. Where the heck are you guys and when are you open to the public; if ever? I "need" to come and watch a bit. Sorry, only "play" in 1;20.3 electric, indoors. I can't be in the sun too much but I miss going to Tilden Park and watching the Golden Gate Live Steamers. Found this you tube short totally by accident.. Greg and Jeanne Uzar.
+Jeanne Uzar I was just visiting the Sacramento Valley Live Steamers when I shot the video. They are open to the public on some days. You can find out more about them and about public dates from their website: www.svlsrm.org/
That is a very well done model of Southern Pacific's GS-1 (Golden State or General Service depending on who you ask). This design would be subsequently modified into the "Daylight" streamlined locomotives and later non- or semi-streamlined locomotives for SP and Cotton Belt. A model of the GS-2 or GS-3 locomotive was at the meet and is on this recording at 11:05.
wow... can we say , disposable income!!.... wont see anything like this in New York!... id be lucky to build in HO!!.... lol........not. would really like to visit......someday.

I am always amazed by this scale. The work that goes in to the cars and locos. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing Bill.

It's really handy for unloading our equipment. Makes getting my CliShay out much easier.

+littleevan99 Great! I subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to seeing the video.
Nice video. Would've liked to seen some footage of the cab forward operating on the mainline.
Me too. It never went out the day we were there.
They were having a problem with the valve gear on the fireman side, it somehow got bend

I wish more people would do 1/4 scale
Its the cost that stops a lot of people.
Awesome
I have to pick better numbers for the lottery, great trains
How much do these cost? $500,000 per train?
Priceless, or at least way out of reach for me.
I think most steam locomotives are built not bought.
Instead of seeing live steers, I see live lawn mowers.

I clearly live on the wrong side of the pond.... :-)
It's a wonderful railroad and our hosts made us feel welcome. It was a very good day.

idk

Mt1 if I recall
EDIT: Yeah I just saw the 4 axle trailing trucks, NVM. GS-1
I'm curious, is that dual gauge there?
+sillywesties Yes, in some places it is dual gauge 7 1/2 inch and 4 3/4 inch.
Looks like fun :D
Huh, never would have guess that is the way they unload stock
What in the world would an outfit like one of those cost?
wow... can we say , disposable income!!.... wont see anything like this in New York!... id be lucky to build in HO!!.... lol........not. would really like to visit......someday.
Cool toys. But, when I think of the cost the only word that comes to mind is, "Why?". Beautiful stuff. But, kinda crazy.
Why? Because they can...! :-D
Many build their own equipment
