    A Day to Remember (often abbreviated ADTR) is an American rock band from Ocala, Florida, founded in the spring of 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. They are known for their amalgamation of metalcore and pop punk. The band currently consists of vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, rhythm guitarist Neil Westfall, bassist Joshua Woodard, percussionist/drummer Alex Shelnutt and lead guitarist Kevin Skaff.
    You're Welcome is the upcoming seventh studio album by American rock band A Day to Remember. It will be released on March 5, 2021 and is set to be the bands' first release under major label Fueled by Ramen after spending six years as an independent band (with assistance from Epitaph Records for the distribution of Bad Vibrations) after leaving and the eventual lawsuit against former label Victory Records. The album will also be the first new release by the band in 5 years, marking the longest gap between two albums in their entire career. The album was produced by Colin Brittain and vocalist Jeremy McKinnon. #ADayToRemember #YoureWelcome #ADTR #Degenerates #Rocked #AlbumReview

      @@RockedNet I'm pretty sure both Mark and John went at length about how any band that has signed to Fueled By Ramen within the last decade get's chewed up and spit out. Also see, for a similar example, Mania by Fall Out Boy. Album was announced to drop in September with a terrible lead off single, then less than a month before the album comes out we find out that the album wasn't even 20% of the way done or something, and then it get's delayed into next year (Also I think the band confirmed the label slapped a release date on it before they even had a song done). Only difference with that compared to this is that they it did to a stalwart of their line-up... yet again, considering the completely awful promotion behind Hayley Williams' solo ventures, I wouldn't be suprised if they were just completely incompetent at this point.

      @@XLRider2 do you know of the band Misterwives? They're not really a heavy band, they're more indie pop and they also signed to Fueled by Ramen and put out an album last year. I liked the album overall, but it's _easily_ their worst. They went into the mainstream sound WAY too much on this one, with a couple of the songs being a complete loss of identity. Most of the tracks, I actually dug the different sound though. Again, a lot of the album is SO not ADTR, but I liked it for what it is and not necessarily what I wanted it to be.

    How do bands still fall victim to the Imagine Dragon?

    • @alex_flamer
      @alex_flamer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Because major labels saw their success throughout the 2010s so they feel that with every band they sign, they have to make them sound like them. Yes the bands give interviews talking about their new direction, but I don't think it's genuine 100% of the time. What you'll never hear from bands is label involvement in the creation of their music. Therefore, not giving them creative freedom and forcing them to make something mediocre for mass consumption.

    And this is why people say rock is dead in the mainstream. Bands incorporate too many electronic elements with weak songwriting turns them into pop. Wouldn't be surprised if some of these songs get airplay on rock radio because it's bad recent music, and on alternative radio just for being car commerical music.

    • @ryanbollinger1759
      @ryanbollinger1759 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    • @thenightmare92
      @thenightmare92 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It seems when bands get to a point where there about 5 plus albums in, they’ll try to go outside there comfort zone. But sadly in rock, they’ll just jump on the band wagon of whats on alt/rock radio to be safe because they know more of the pop or alternative crowd will gravitate towards it & the record label loves that shit.

    • @alex_flamer
      @alex_flamer 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@thenightmare92 I wonder why when bands go outside their comfort zone, they don't experiment with more complex and mature songwriting? Instead, they regress and go basic with songwriting and overall sound. Unfortunately, this band regressed too much and now they're probably going to get radio airplay. The change in labels also probably guarantees that too.

    Sadly, yet another good band corrupted by the newer style of rock in this era. So many bands were better back in the early 1990’s and 2000’s than present day. There are a few bands who kept their style through their career but they’re far and few

    This album is a sad attempt to make a mainstream music from the peoples, that have no single idea how mainstream music sounds. This sounds like it came straight from 2005, and even then it would not make into top charts. Nickelback songs from this era wipe the floor with this shit, and it says a lot. Compare this to 3DG, BB, Nickelback, Green Day, and any other top rock band from that era. See the difference? This album literally makes me sad, not even angry. Its just literally pathetic, ADTR try to fit into category they don't belong to, with pathetic results. Its like a non-popular kid in high school trying to fit himself into popular groups. Its just sad and pathetic.

    You know, I'm a big A Day to Remember fan, their music means a lot to me and and I liked pretty much every record they dropped (including their not the best received Bad Vibrations) and I dreaded this album, because out of all singles (and ADTR singles game usually incredibly strong) I didn't liked a single one. My hopes for this record were rock bottom low, but now, after seeing your review, that Resentment is one of the highlights for you (I thought it was one of the better singles, just really forgetable) and your score, ooooooooooooof, I expect to like it even less. Please let it be their first and only miss, pretty please

      WELP, now I listened to it and overall, You're Welcome is the worst album I heard this year and the biggest disappointment for me since...I don't even remember since then I was disappointed by the album from the band I love that much. Absolutely uninteresting instrumentation, especially drums, lyrics are pandering or bland cliches, compositions are whatever, production is skincrawlingy appalling and I don't feel like even band had much fun doing this album. So, ADTR, one of my favourite bands ever, who mean so much to me, it pains me to say it, but this album from first listen gets 0/10 from me, I didn't liked a single song or even moments on it.

    I will say that Everything We Need sounds way better than Brick Wall tbh. Brick Wall isn’t bad but the mix on some of the vocals isn’t that good especially during the breakdown. The guitars and drums really overpowered the screams and that’s what really killed it, along with having the same riff as the chorus during the breakdown. It just sounded exactly the same throughout. Nothing wrong with it, but the mix and how everything sounded, just sounded incredibly lazy.
