    :) I’m just experiencing the moment after Partying with the ‘anxiety out of nowhere’ and feelings are very interesting:
    On this Sunday relaxed morning I suddenly started to feel some tricky nervousnes & deep weird fear I’d usually call anxiety.
    So I managed to tune into it, sensed it and did some exercices (from SmartBodySmartMind program) and now, in the evening (on the same day) I feel so spacefull inside and inspired for getting some things done that are on the waiting list since.. ages ago.
    This really is Gold

      This is SO wonderful to read!
      Great that you are putting your tools to use and how quickly your system responds.

    Feeling is healing! I find that Yin Yoga is a wonderful practice as it assists in gaining awareness of your body and what may be stuck in the tissues. It also helps to release those stuck emotions/unprocessed events and as you sit for those long periods (3 to 10 minutes) you build up the capacity to sit with the "uncomfortable" and ride the wave of feeling. You learn to be with whatever arises and how improtant the breath can be in integration.
    Thank you Irene for all you share!

    I've noticed something interesting. On the rare occasions when I have been able to totally go into the anxiety 100% and leave my mind behind that these sensations are actually not unpleasant, they can in fact have an orgasmic quality to them. The problem is that the mind on an unconscious level, and conscious too, label the anxiety as bad, which causes the experience to be percieved as unpleasant, which it is really not. Long story short, I feel that the party-analogy is very true, but that the party can evolve into an orgy if we simply let it.

      agree! On my side anxiety often hides the excitement which I have somehow been suppressing- as you said, my mind possibly labels it unsafe, or that I have not been allowed to express my excitement when young. Fascinating stuff!!

    I'm doing some research on ptsd, and someone recommended this channel (so for, very interesting!). As far as "panic attacks" go, I have read a number of things (in natural health) that indicate PA's can very often be helped/cured by addressing a mineral deficiency/poor diet. Hardy Nutritionals may have figured this one out.

    Thanks so much for this! So I did my first Feldenkrais exercise yesterday and my body feels so relaxed in a way like in amazing way! But I also have that tightening in the throat and stomach... I sense that it is because maybe my mind or body is kind of on alert because it actually feels relaxed? Lol does this happen?

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's totally possible! As part of you becomes relaxed there may be a new awareness of something which could have been there all along and now there's just a new sense of it. Or it could be that this tightening is a new response to the fact that something else in you relaxed. It's like "what the what!? That's not familiar and I better be on alert..."
      Be curious about it and see what you discover!

    This has been happening to me for the last month . At first, it was a full out panic attack and was at work. My question is. I was feeding my anxiety with fearful thoughts for a bit before that..( health anxiety) . most doctors believe that, that in itself can cause the cortisol levels to get out of wack and then that is what triggers the physical symptoms. Is that not true and this is all old trauma? I have dealt with these on and off since my mid 20's. I went on zoloft back then and was on it for a very long time.. like 20 yrs. I just went off it about 1 yr ago and now it is all back. I went off because I started a meditative practice, working out, alot of inner work, changed my diet.. I guess an "awakening" if you use that term. etc. But now I am confused and starting to think perhaps this is all chemical and I should go back on the meds again. which I really really don't want to, but I am a single mom of two sons with a full-time job. Coping with these symptoms daily is sometimes taxing.. othertimes, I am able to allow it

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sometimes, when there's trauma, doing things like meditating, working out, diet change and "inner work" can be a temporary fix or help mask what's really going on. Until something happens to trigger those old incomplete responses again. And bam. The anxiety and symptoms are back. This is where finding regulation and capacity and starting to work with the trauma is key.
      I suggest connecting with a doctor or therapist in regards to going back on your meds or not. Are you working with anyone?

      @@IreneLyon Hi Irene, I am working with a therapist, and the SSRI medications are not very good for your nervous system or actually any part of your body. They basically produce serotonin which stops your body from having to do it and/or regulate it. There is no wonder that I am experiencing these symptoms after using them for 20 yrs from a physical perspective and trauma. I am working with supplements to fortify my body and brain and natural options for stress. Things are getting better as I am able to handle the sensations and allow them to release without panic now. I think our body is fully capable of healing itself if we allow it Meditation, working out and diet change I think will help give me the tools and strength to get through these symptoms why allowing the trauma to release. I honestly don't think they masked anything. I think it was just time for them to come up now. I love your videos and thank you for what you do XO

      @@IreneLyon hi team Lyon. What if we are experiencing fight/flight energy every day? This year has been tumultuous. I didn’t process anything, and like you said to Ann, a lot of these “holistic” practices mask the trauma which I think happened to me. Now, everything is coming out. I am resourcing when needed and trying to grow capacity slowly. I feel very on edge, like everything is a danger sometimes. It ebbs and flows throughout the day. Is this all part of it?

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Doorto_theriver, Jen here from Team Lyon. As you suggested, when this is the case it's often a sign that we need to take steps to grow foundational nervous system capacity. This can be a gradual process, and ebbs and flows along the way are often part of the process. Knowing what supports, resources, and for some, distracts us, can be important as we're in the process of growing capacity and navigating these experiences.

    and Trichotillomania.

    • @IreneLyon
      @IreneLyon  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When addressing disorders like these, we would approach it with the same nervous system lens - where the focus is in finding regulation and building a sense of capacity and safety within the system. This in turn can often lead to a greater sense of how to be with the symptoms and can also often lead to a change within the symptoms.

      @@IreneLyon will definitely check that out. I've cut out most of my meds and besides the few exceptions I now just take CBD/THC. It makes me care again. (I've been drowning in anxiety and depression and have lost interest in life.)
      Walking in the woods actually is like taking medication for your body, only naturally. Results from studies show great medical benefits from "Forest-bathing", (besides the obvious and expected positives of exercise). My Dr told me years ago that he was reading a study that said something about the trees letting off pheromones (or something like that) that help our bodies heal.
      Deep breathing exercises can strengthen the lungs among so many other amazing benefits to our health.
      I look forward to reading that info you shared, and incorporating your findings with my own. Thanks for sharing that!

      HI Phyllis Boyle, Jen here from Team Lyon. I'm sorry to hear that your Lyme's is so debilitating. I'm assuming you've been seen by an allopathic medical professional as they often have some interventions that can be helpful. We've also had many people with Lyme's go through Irene's online Healing Trauma programs (The 21 Day Nervous System Tune Up and SmartBody SmartMind) with good results.
      Lisa Dennis, a SmartBody SmartMind alum, wrote a book about healing from Lyme's. I'll link to her book here in case it's of interest.
