Well Colin, hats off to you on the wierdest collection I've seen. The Cobra replica is actually a replica of a famous car. COB 1 is the legendry monster built and I think still owned by Rod Leach, who is one of the world's leading experts on AC Cobras. His business "Rod Leach's Nostalgia" was trading up until just before Covid. He's an old man now and I am aware of some legal trouble, but I don't know any more.
COB 1 reg always used to belong to Rod Leach, famous Cobra man - his company was Rod Leach’s Nostalgia and he used to advertise it C&SC - he sold all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff … this must be something to do with him.
It's still registered to a blue 1968 COBRA, which according to the government website, has NEVER been through an MoT, yet strangely it was taxed up to the end of July 1995, and as we all know, our UK government is always well on top of everything, it couldn't possibly be a mistake made by one of their departments
I saw Cob 1 at power engineering in Uxbridge back in 1993 being tuned with twin turbos think it made 700+ horsepower beautiful midnight blue with the signature plaques on the engine 👍🏻

I've had multiple trespassers recently on my property, wandering around filming like they own the place. I have cams up but live 2 hours away. It's incredibly annoying and stressful.
Make it nicer & they won’t come. Clearly define the border with a hedge, that kinda thing. Tidy up the place. Not close board fencing because that’s ugly. Problem Solved.

You can imagine they were lonely but you really don't know. It seems likely that the collector died years ago & their heirs just abandoned the place. When the collector was alive, it might have been a neat & tidy place, possibly even a hub of activity. Whoever he was he clearly had a passion for cars & trucks. The sad part is how it's been abandoned. It was asked in the video what might happen to the vehicles. Sadly the answer seems obvious - they will continue to be ignored by whoever legally owns the collection & allowed to rust to dust.

Such a sad sight! Some valuable cars and license plates out there. I always just wish that at some point people could just take abandoned cars after a certain amount if years. So cool you found a old custom shop. Some of those body swap cars are very interesting. People in the USA still custom body swap. For example old pickup bodies on new frames, old volkswagen beetle on utv cage or Mini Cooper drivetrain, etc. I especially enjoy your automobile find videos. Great content
@duviworthing As far as I can remember, anyone can apply for the V5 of an abandoned car, and DVLA will contact the current registered keeper, if there is no reply, the vehicle along with number plate is transferred to the new keeper! It's a fairly simple process to transfer the number plate to another vehicle I suspect this is how many cherished number plates unscrupulously change hands, especially high value ones.

The ford galaxy or seat or vw convert to the classic Citroen is one of the strangest convert I have ever seen, I doubt it would be completed but it must be a true one of a kind. Love the cobra. That’s a classic I would love to own, but I’d happily drive the e34 5 series, had a lot of those in the past, my worst had the new type front which wasn’t my favourite but I would still happily drive one today. Apart from the road costs. This whole site must be the strangest cut a shut garages that got the concept of cut n shut idea very wrong

Rod Leach's COB 1 was widened - not a standard Cobra body. It was also twin-turbocharged, if I remember correctly. I saw it outside Rod's house as I was driving past and went back and talked to him about it. The COB 1 in this video is not that car.

This is what happens when you have some land, an interest in cars, some cash but you get old / ill / die and your relatives don't want to / can't bring themselves to get rid of a loved ones collection. However this is a stark reminder that we don't live in California so NEED to store cars INSIDE....save some of these please before they just sadly rust away...there are some absolute Frankenstein monster vehicles though...😂
Great find. The COB 1 is a 1967 AC COBRA MK III TWIN-TURBO ROADSTER, and it sold in 1998 for GBP 188,500 at Christies. Some searching about, you can find who owned it, or at least did. A well known Cobra lover and classic car seller of the late 80s. A court case too, around this car possibly? Those cars have given me a Nostalgia trip.
Yes indeed, I parked next to this car in our classic car sometime back in the late 70s, at a regular monthly pub car park meet , remember the name well and as you say a dealer - extraordinary how such an important car can end up like this !.

Amazing!! The COB 1 is a 1968 7L blue Cobra, last taxed in 1995! The "Fury" is a Frogeye Sprite!
That is not the real COB 1, the real one is a highly modified and very well known car, that is a kit car with a vanity plate.

It's on an E Type which is taxed and it's been on the car for years. This is just a fake plate, like COB1. This is all crap.
