Honestly building a mega base in the "extreme hills biome" would probably be really cool. Maybe a bunch of rickety homes connected by bridges, or maybe something more celestial

i would love to just have a little village there (maybe some on extra built platforms), all connected with bridges.
The extreme hills look like those infdev glitches monoliths
I have experience with mountaintop homes and I wouldn't recommend it. Sure, they look impressive, but actually trying to live in one is a bit of a pain. First off, it can be a bit of a pain to get up there, especially during the early days before you've built something to make it easier. There are also no resources up there, so you have to move everything yourself. Then there's the snow and freezing water to deal with. It's just a lot of inconveniences.

I love this idea of trying to traverse terrain that was never designed to be traverse able. It's like a procedurally generated puzzle that is meant to be unsolvable, and the challenge is to figure out how to win despite it.
These biomes remind me of that April fools snapshot Mojang released with the infinite randomly generated dimensions
back in 2020? yeah i never got to play it but it was awesome
