@@bradenweller2531 The type of turf plays a big part too. Cool season grasses stripe better than warm season turfs. I have Zoysia and it is a bit tougher to stripe because the blade growth is so dense and the blades are stronger, so they are harder to push over without them springing back up. I'll have to check out this roller this guy has used here and see what kind of return warranty they have, just in case my lawn doesn't stripe as well as I like. My first attempt with my home built striping kit had mediocre results.

Pete, your lawn just keeps making me falling in love with lawn care. My friends thinking I'm nuts and you can just imagine the jokes, all in no harm good fun. I call my lawn a Frankenstein lawn, don't know what kind of grass is bit I have a feeling a mixture of all of them in patches, this I inherited when I bought the house. Im on a thight budget, but thanks to your videos I'm learning so much and my yard is looking so much better. Hopefully soon enough if I play my cards well and I receive all my blessings. I'll have a yard you'll be proud of, and I say that humbly.

John Curtis he’s right it’s not really a million dollar home and I can personally tell you every million dollar home out of the hundreds if not thousands I’ve worked at the lawns were horrible because they were huge and done by random lawn outfits butchering them and sliding around the yards cutting on wet days just to get the big yards done. I’ve seen very very few perfectly kept yards and those people tend not to hire anybody to work in their yard regardless out of ocd and mental confusion. I work pretty much only on upper end homes and every yard I work at I leave looking better than when I started. And that’s after an escalator or trencher or other heavy machinery usually sometimes just hand work bur some people are just crazy. I’ve ever seen an expensive home like this one keep their yard like that year round either, tbh this part of the season it would grow uneven and look horrible the next day lmao. With the raining being how it’s been yards like this are impossible for even the people who have the time and patience to do such, which requires a ridiculous amount of free time to begin with.

@@brothermustgo4497 Definately a million dollar house where i'm from. One just like it sold for 1.3 million not too long ago. I guess it just depends on where you live and the cost of living in your area to determine what " a million dollar house" really is. My house is worth ~$250K. It could be worth millions easy in L.A. Or it could be worth $100k in the middle of nowhere.

hey yall PLEASE don't get it twisted to have nice stripes like pete lets say if your quality of grass is close to petes you need a high quality mower...…..commercial mowers most like petes strip even without the strip kit.... strip kit for pete just adds more definition to the actual strip if you have a regular mower even with strip kits it will strip but no as defined due to a commercial mower naturally creates a lot more lift under the deck more power higher quality...….. I just don't want people asking why mine don't look as good as petes lol...…….

I used to stripe with a normal push mower. you don't need an attachment to stripe a lawn. The suction of the mower will stand the blades upright. The plastic flapper on the back of most push mowers lays the turf down in one uniform direction. To stripe, simply go back and forth with most mowers.

Look, I'm a certified pesticide applicator. I see lawns every day and all day. Prodiamine pre emergent in spring, weed n feed every 6 to 8 weeks, mow once a week at a height of 3 1/2" and my turf looks healthy, and green, with minimal attention, therefore no unneeded stress on the lawn. My neighbor on the other hand mows twice a week, down to the dirt, and aerates in the summer because they want to Out Jones the Joneses. Lawn diseases, grubs, and weeds, with a bunch of soil compaction is what they've got. Lawn is so stressed, the only thing saving them is the company I work for is treating their lawn, if it weren't for us they'd have a melted out, disease, pest riddle turf. The bottom line, don't be an over achieving, try hard, doing your best to piss off your neighbors by tomahawking your turf to death, trying to dominate their landscape with yours, has a way of blowing up in your face.....

Hey Pete! Question.... I know The “1/3” rule but is the rule cut only 1/3 per day or can I cut 1/3 at a time? Meaning, can I cut 1/3 going in one direction, get to my edge, turn around, lower the deck 1/3, then proceed to cut the same grass a 3rd lower or must a wait several days to cut it another 1/3??? ,

Omg, there's a kit for it? Are they expensive? Can't you just attach some make-shift rod (weighted down with some stones) like that one guy did in his video? And what if you have a bag attachment. Can you still attach this?

    Pete,
One more question when comparing your grass seed to others like Scott’s, Rebel etc. why does it appear their seed only adds up to about 50% of the bag along with 50% of some fertilizer/coatings and yours is almost 100% seed ? Also I live near Greensboro, do you have a location I can come purchase the grass seed? Or is it the same price as it is online? Thanks

I just ordered a stripe kit from Big League Lawns about 3 hours before watching this video. I even tried to search for a discount code online to no avail. If I would have only waited a few hours...LOL
I really enjoy following you and appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Your yard is amazing...I only hope to have mine looking half as nice.
    All the best...

I love your stripes dude... Have you ever done a pattern and got almost three or four stripes to the end and thought oh s*** I messed up...😂 I only ask because I'm trying to get into striping myself just for certain customers..

I'm more of a plaid guy, myself... And used to drive the neighbors absolutely crazy when I'd polka-dot the lawn... I'd lay hoops of all different sizes on the yard and sprinkle fertilizer in 'em...drove 'em out of their minds.

Pete, you are a true pro! Looks killer. Going to order one for my 36” walk behind today. On the website, it says to subtract 6 inches from deck. I would order a 30”? I tried calculating by the number of rollers on your machines and it looks like you went a bit wider, no?

Worked in golf courses for a few years. Solid metal rollers on those. And golf course maintenance folks take pride in striping the fairways, greens, tee boxes, rough and approaches like this guy does a yard.

    Hey Pete,
You are now my "go to" yard guy. It used to be a guy with the initials R.K. but I just can't relate to that "low mow" lawn he is converting to. Since you have such a nice thick fescue lawn and you love mowing those stripes let's see a video on the "zig-zag" pattern. That one seems to be the hardest to get right. Thanks for the videos, information, tips, tricks and most of all for sharing your faith and not being afraid to do so. Keep those videos coming my friend. #getyourzigzagright

The turning is what's giving me fits. My yard has low spots that won't turn loose of the moisture and so they stay real soft. Turning in those areas causes the striper and the Honda 217 itself to dig in.
Yesterday I did double fat stripes in the back yard for the first time. Turned out pretty good. I was very proud of it. I'm in love with that mower, AND that stripe kit.

I tried using the code and it didn’t work. I also tried using the link from your website that directed me to big league lawns, and there was no code there either. Is there a new code to use?
