Just found your channel. I'm a floor loom weaver, and your series on weaving and block construction is excellent. I wish you'd do more. Such a great learning experience. Thanks! Jill, Oregon
Oh my goodness I love the starlight knitting society!!! My partner is from Oregon, and I have been really enjoying the fiber culture in Portland when we go to visit family! Last time he patiently waited while I gooshed yarns for two hours at starlight 😅 So glad you got to go there!
Hi Rachel, love your channel. I am new to spinning and am having a lot of trouble getting the hang of it. I’ve tried spinning with embroidery thread for a while to get the feel of that being drawn into wheel but when I try with actual fiber, I just can’t get the right twist. Help!
Great question, Shannon. Go back to basics. It sounds like there isn't enough twist entering the fibre so it just falls apart and can't wind onto the bobbin. Release the brake tension slightly so that draw-in isn't particularly strong and then begin drafting. Start slow. Let that twist build up a wee bit and then allow the yarn to wind onto the bobbin. Sounds like the singles isn't spending enough time in front of the wheel, getting enough twist into it, before it's getting yanked onto the bobbin. I had this same problem when I started! Slow down and just play with the twist, let off the brake. You'll get it!!

Thank you Jill! I will -- it's on my list!! Thank you for your support in watching!
As I’m rewatching this again and looking at your Attune bobbin I thought that would look lovely woven.💕
Oooh absolutely, Dionne. I am so tempted to pivot with this one **wink wink** Sometimes it's hard to stick with the plan!!
I learn so much from your videos! Thank you.
I'm so glad! Thank you for letting me know - that means a lot!

Awww that's awesome! There are some fun places to visit for sure and you're absolutely right, there's a great fibre arts community in OR!
