@@StarstruckByLondon always like lining up new and interesting pubs to check out on my business trips from San Diego. Last interesting one was Coach & Horses Barlow place in W1
The Blind Beggar is supposed to allude to the legend of Henry de Montfort who escaped the Battle of Evesham in 1265 after being blinded. He begged on the crossroads, where the inn stood for centuries before being built as a pub in Victorian times. It’s almost certainly not true but London is full of myths and legends like this
Didn't know a good 6 or 7 of those. Have to make a day of it and visit them all. On the theme of macabre pubs - Have you visited The Magdala pub in Hampstead? The last woman to be sentenced to death in the UK shot her lover outside it in the 50s.
It’s a true pity that the Thomas a Becket has been knocked down (old Kent road) that was a great pub complete with boxing ring upstairs I believe Henry cooper used to train there amongst other of our wonderful boxers.
Thats the wrong Prince of Wales for Adam ant it was the Prince of Wales originally on Prince of Wales Road near kentish town west ,it was actually in the paper ..
The Ten Bells, there is much more history to that pub. I am sure it has the upper hand on The Grenadier ;)
Too much history for one video! Thanks for watching. Keep an eye out for part 2
Great vid. However, the Prince of Wales pub you mentioned re Adam Ant was actually on Prince of Wales Rd NW5. It's now been redeveloped.
Yes, that’s been pointed out. My first lesson in double sourcing. But still a great story, don’t you agree?
@@StarstruckByLondon yes it was very interesting. Keep them coming.
very nice selection....I'll pay a visit for sure
Yes! There are so many pub stories, I’m sure I’ll do a part 2 eventually.
Great 👍👍👍
Many thanks!
Nice list! Some new ones on there to try. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏼

Been to the swan many times - I’ll take you up on a couple of the others
All very interesting pubs. I think I’ll do a part 2 soon. Thanks for watching!

No, that’s a good one. I’ll consider a Haunted Pub video.
Ohh...yes love to see that..Ruth Ellis .

Nice memory. Thanks for sharing.
At 8:25 the picture of the soldier who was cheating at cards is actually a portrait of the Duke of Wellington !
Hopefully that was not implied to be the dead guy. It was just the footage I had to go behind the narration! Thanks for watching 👍🏼
The Churchill is in Notting hill reallly. The Windsor castle round the corner is much better
I’ll give the Windsor a try 👍🏼
