LA CANCIÓN DEL OLVIDO (zarzuela) / Banda Simfònica d'Algemesí

La canción del olvido, a zarzuela in one act divided into four scenes, premiered at the Teatro Lírico in Valencia in 1916. With a libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández-Shaw, in which there is no lack of sparks of humor and twists typical of genre, it is a delicious romantic comedy developed very coherently by the music of the Valencian José Serrano.
The action takes place in Sorrentino (imaginary place between Naples and the Albufera) in the last year of the 18th century and goes through funny situations and famous musical numbers such as the romances "Marinela", "Next to the bridge of the rock" or the catchy "Soldado of Naples”.
The Algemesí Symphonic Band interprets the zarzuela "La Canción del Olvido", by José Serrano, at the Partner Concert held on February 4, 2023 at the Algemesí Municipal Theater.
