When I listened this song while playing piano tiles it felt like the most painfully beautiful thing ever. Then I researched about this song and found it was written by a homeless man. RIP Ryan. May u finally find the peace u never found in this world :"(

Ryan Arcand played music right beside my work and inside one of the buildings I worked at. I would pass by during lunch hour and he would make my day and I cried every single time listening to him play. This composition is something he channeled beyond the physical realm and I am so delighted that so many people have seen it and felt it in their hearts and souls. I think of him every single week for all these years and despite his passing, this melody keeps being part of my life. He is one of a kind and he left behind himself one of the best gifts he possibly could have. Maybe one day I meet him again and hear him play.

It probably means his life begining is like his end...so much sadness as his life swiftly fades away..his abused childhood n him being alcoholic..seeing other peoples life with full meaning but yet he is still on streets cold n trying to understand life...

Ryan Arcand sadly died in March 2018. He was still living in the homeless facility where he was provided comfort...and a piano. There is a an article online, that spoke to his cousin Charles (?) Yellowbird, who told more details of Ryan Arcand's life. Very sad story. I'm glad he was able to realize, before he died, how his music, this song, touched millions of people around the world!!
