Tropical storm Debby sparks MORE tornadoes: At least 1 dies as National Guard activated in N.C.

  • North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper was in the eastern part of the state Thursday afternoon, and he spoke with members of swift water rescue teams as Tropical Storm Debby moved up the east coast Thursday.
    He gave a briefing in Kinston at the North Carolina National Guard Armory. During the briefing he said, "this is not over,"and said the biggest concerns were "unrelenting rain and destruction."
    News 13 has kept in contact with local swift water crews deployed to the eastern part of the state.
