Adam, as far as Dollywood, I grew up an hour away in Johnson City, Tennessee. We used to go down to Dollywood for at least once or twice a month to have fun it used to be named Silverdollar city and Dolly Parton came in remodeled it and turned it into Dollywood Dollywood is Dolly Parton theme park the country music singer and she’s had it for over 40 years. Yes it’s a theme park. It has roller coaster rides has a bunch of stuff in October. They have Oktoberfest Dolly Parton comes in in March when the park reopens and it closes down from January to March for everybody to do maintenance updates and things like that.
I live 5 minutes from DOLLYWOOD, it’s so beautiful here, people are so nice, I’m surprised they didn’t get the grilled corn on the cob , yummy, I know all the good places to eat , for barbecue you must go to Tony Gores oh hwy 66 it’s at the entrance past the interstate, you’ll take I40 your exit is 407 prepare to fall in love with these mountains and good people ❤
@@bethmccracken8192 when I was 1516 at 17 years old in high school I worked for a phone companies that put in the telephone systems to some of the hotels that when you come off the highway going into Sevierville about seven or eight of those hotels we put the phone system in the hotels
Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, which is in the Smoky Mountains. Dolly Parton is from there and half of the staff were related to her. My sister used to live in Sevierville (right next to Pigeon Forge) and took us there numerous times when we visited from Florida. It's like a giant county fair with roller coasters. And yes, Dolly donates books to every child in Sevier County and has for many many years.
Dolly's Imagination Library program has spread to nearly every state in the US and several overseas countries and has literally given away 100's of millions ot books to children, a book per month until they turn 5 years old. Her father could not read and she wanted to help others to learn to read.
Dolly has given the actual recipe for the Cinnamon Bread at Dollywood Dough: ½ cup warm water ¾ teaspoon active dry yeast 1 tablespoon plus a pinch white sugar, divided 1 ½ cups bread flour ½ teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled Cooking spray *** Topping: ¼ cup white sugar ¼ cup packed light brown sugar 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 2 tablespoons light corn syrup *** Glaze: 1 ¼ cups confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted 3 to 5 tablespoons milk Pinch salt *** Step 1 Combine warm water, yeast and a pinch of white sugar in a small bowl and whisk. Allow the mixture to sit until foamy, about 5 to 8 minutes. Step 2 Meanwhile, in a stand mixer, whisk bread flour, remaining 1 tablespoon white sugar, salt and melted butter. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add it to your stand mixer. Using the dough hook, knead on medium speed until the dough is smooth and stretchy, about 8 minutes. Step 3 Transfer the dough ball to a bowl lightly greased with cooking spray. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place (about 75 to 80 degrees F) until doubled in size, about 90 minutes. Punch it down, then transfer dough to a work surface and knead a few times. Cut it in half and gently shape into two 3x6-inch loaves-be careful not to overwork the dough. Step 4 Place the loaves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm environment until puffy, about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Step 5 Meanwhile, make the topping by whisking white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small baking dish. Whisk melted butter and corn syrup in a separate small baking dish. Step 6 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line two 9x5-inch loaf pans with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on both sides. Cut four deep slashes across the top of each loaf (the loaves will deflate). Step 7 Dip each loaf in the butter-corn syrup mixture, coating it completely, then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, making sure the mixtures get in all the crevices. Step 8 Place loaves in prepared loaf pans and drizzle with any remaining butter and cinnamon sugar. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Lift the bread out of the loaf pans and let cool, about 15 minutes. Step 9 While the bread cools, make the glaze by whisking confectioners' sugar, salt, melted butter and 3 tablespoons milk in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in up to 2 more tablespoons of milk if needed to thin out the glaze. Step 10 Drizzle the glaze on the warm loaves or serve on the side for dipping.
Not only does she give millions and millions of books to children to encourage reading, she gave over $1.000.000 to help researchers develop the Covid vaccine. She has a bald Eagle sanctuary for birds who have injuries and can’t live in the wild. She also pays for employees to go to college (all expenses). This includes their children. I’m sure there’s other things. She is an icon and inspiration.
She also wouldn’t get the vaccine until it was her turn because she didn’t want special treatment and get it ahead of people with immune deficiency and from line workers. She was offered it as soon as it was developed but didn’t want to jump the line. She is such an incredible human! She and Betty White have been my heroes
Dolly’s dad never learned how to read (pretty common for poor people in that region at that time), so she has set up “The Dolly Parton Imagination Library” to donate books to children who come from low income families. And not used books, but fresh off the presses new books (she felt that poor kids get enough hand-me-downs, and need to experience the pride in owning something new that is just for them and didn’t previously belong to someone else). I believe, though I could be wrong, that she has donated the most books of anyone in the US ever.
The Smokies are next to Dollywood. Fun fact: the Appalachian mountains are the same as the Scottish highlands, separated by geologic ages since Pangea. As an East Tennessean, I find it amazing that so many Scots wound up here, and it was kinda the same place. Also, Dollywood is amazing. It used to be a theme park called Silver Dollar City. Pigeon Forge where it's located might be the tackiest place on Earth, but it's fun.
They are called Bald because " ‘bald’ actually stems from an old English word ‘balde’, meaning white. The name is also closely related to another old English word, ‘piebald’, which means white-headed".
Dolly parton's father was illiterate, I believe. She grew up in severe poverty in TN. She started the imagination Library to donate one book a month to any underprivileged child from the time they're born until age 5. Eo none will have to be illiterate. Shes done SOOO much for the poor of Tennessee. Shes amazing
I live close to this park. It's in the Great Smokey Mountains. Yes, this is Dolly Parton's Amusement Park.. Great food & great rides. Dolly is considered a National Treasure. Here in Tennessee, she is our Queen..
My great grandma is from Tennessee and when we visited we would always find a roadside guy doing whole hog pulled pork outside his barn , I can still taste it 20 years later !!!
Just saw this video, it was great. I know you are going to Orlando in October, but I think Dollywood is a much better place. The rides are just as good, but the food is 10 times better at Dollywood. Add the fact that the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Oh, and it is much cheaper also. I'll also take the beautiful fall weather in Tennessee over the heat and humidity in Orlando. That is my opinion, but having visited theme parks in Germany, Sweden, Japan, and all over the USA, I find this to be my favorite.
Dolly Parton has a program called The Imagination Library. Any child from age 0-5 can be entered and will receive one age appropriate book a month until they age out of the program. My son has been receiving books for 2 years now. Dolly never forgot her humble beginnings. There's definitely a reason she's so widely loved not only nationally but globally as well.
The sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg TN, Cherokee NC corridor in the Great Smokies is a family adventure wonderland. All kinds of amusement/thrill rides, go cart tracks, dinner theaters, specialty museums, shopping and resorts. More adventurous will like the mountain coasters, bungee, zip line, horseback rides, 4 wheeler adventure’s and hiking. Tons of historical sites, both colonial and Native Cherokee. And of course, Dollywood. Truly a cool place to visit.
I went to Dollywood last year! I’m a coaster enthusiast, all I do is travel the world to ride those things lol. I’ve been to somewhere around 60 parks and gotta say Dollywood ranks very highly. It’s got some really fun, intense rides but also lots of other stuff to do, plus absolutely beautiful theming. Seriously, so good. Oh yeah, 7:29 fun fact about the train. It’s actually of historical significance. It is a coal powered locomotive that was used in WW2, I can’t remember where now but it was used in North America somewhere for transporting goods around. The park has kept it under the coal power, gotta be careful cause coal in your eye is not fun, trust me lol. Most theme park trains that were old locomotives get converted to run on diesel engines, so I love this authenticity. 8:39 Lightning Rod opened as the world’s first and only wood coaster with a launch. However it’s been plagued with technical issues and while the supports have remained wood, the track rails are now almost entirely steel. And this past year they converted the lift from a launch to a chain. Way less cool in my opinion. 12:52 I rode the drop tower in TORRENTIAL rain lol, when we dropped for a second there we were going the same speed as the rain drops and it looked like they were frozen in the air. Then we stopped falling and were met with the continuing barrage of rain 💀 19:34 Wild Eagle is classified s as a “wing” coaster, and this one is easily one of the most scenic with the mountains. Doesn’t have the same first drop a lot of these models have either, so it’s a unique specimen.
I once worked in a little town near where Dolly Parton had a house, and one day I saw her crossing the street across the way. I couldn't see her face, but she has a _very_ distinct body profile. I loved how she walked with such confidence, and just a bit of sass!💙
Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge Tennessee In the Great Smokey Mountains. It was conceived and opened by the iconic country singer Dolly Parton. It is rated as a better theme park than Disney you need to check out the video of the park.
@jackwalker9492 if that's what you think then you don't actually know anything about Dolly. She's been one of the most outspoken allies of the LGBTQ community for decades. Dollywood is consistently one of the most welcoming places in the country, because it combines southern hospitality with what you can "woke" and Dolly calls "loving her neighbors".
However, Dolly didn't open it. It was several things before it became Silver Dollar City. In 1986, Dolly bought into it with a contract that stipulated a lot of growth on the park. Which it has, grown that is. It's larger than Disneyland, and it has recently received an award for best theme park in the world, i think. At any rate, the corporation that runs it and several other theme type parks is a great company to work for.
You might want to check out Dollys music too. 9 to5, Jolene, Coat of many colors, Island in the stream and She wrote I will Always Love You that Whitney Houston sang. She is definitely a National Treasure. I think you might like her. Enjoy❤
dolly partons imagination library is a free program that gifts books to children between the ages new born to 5 years old for free. it is in most states and a few other countries!!!
This. Really makes you realize that the people from history named things like “Charles the Bald” weren’t actually necessarily bald, they were white-haired or something.
Yeah its like applesauce with cinnamon and sugar and cooked until its not too watery, more pasty and easy to spread on sone toast. Its amazing to eat in the fall and winter
My mother&father-in-law live about 50 miles from Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We have been married for 33 years. Now Gatlinburg is right on the side of a mountain and Pigeon Forge is located right next to Gatlinburg. My wife and I have been going to DollyWood and Gatlinburg area for all of those 33 years. It is the most amazing area to visit. Gatlinburg, during the winter, even has a ski resort known as Ober Gatlinburg. If you go there, plan on a couple of weeks. There is so much to do in the area. The Smoky Mountains, Cherokee, North Carolina is really close too. There is a place known as Cade's Cove, just outside of Gatlinburg. It is a National (I think it is National) Park that you can drive through. My wife have seen elk, deer, turkey, black bear and many other animals driving through there. Go and have the time of your life. One other thing, the guy is playing the banjo, not guitar.
Dollywood is awesome. Its theme is "Down Home", the way people used to live in rural America, especially the mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina but with lots of modern amenities and entertainment. The food in Dollywood is first class and the portions are huge, be prepared to share. Apple Butter is beyond delicious, especially pared with that amazing Cinnamon Bread. I've been there several times at different times of the year. My favorite times are Autumn, when the trees change colors and the air smells of fallen leaves and pine but, my absolute favorite time is Christmas, Dollywood out does itself at Christmas, it's like being in a movie.
Several years ago we drove from New Mexico to Tennessee for vacation. Dollywood was my favorite part of the trip. I don't think we ate anything there but the rides were awesome.
We used to go to Disney and the rest in Orlando but the first time we discovered Dollywood, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mountains we left Orlando behind. Sorry Florida, we are in love with Dolly. So much so we want to buy a house in the Smoky Mountains. And don’t get me started on Dolly Splash World. Give me an inner tube and let me spent my day floating down the lazy river ride.
Country music is not big outside of the US so it doesn’t surprise me that people outside of the US know who she is. I’m actually surprised that Adam does know who she is.
Im 47 and I've been going to Pigeon Forge every year since I was 17 for a family vacation. It's an amazing area. It's done up like old country western theme. Tons of outdoor amzingness for families. This is where you rent a cabin in the mountains for vacay that you see on the internet. I went to Dolly wood the 1st year it opened its tripled in size since I went. Now that my siblings and I's kids have gotten old enough we are planning on going next year. Food is amazing southern country style food. Stuff my granny made on the farm. My son is 9 and says if we win the lottery mom we are moving to that area haha.
Dolly has her own program for books. Any child in the US from birth to 5 years can sign up for free. They will get a new book every month. She mails more than 1 million books PER MONTH. Most recent stat I can find is as of Nov. 2023, Dolly has donated 224,000,000 books. When a wildfire burned most of the little town she is from, she gave every single resident that needed it money every month to get them back on their feet. She is all around amazing. Dollywood has a special enclosure for bald eagles who can no longer fly. Our national symbol can live out their lives being provided for.
I've been there many times. It's a great place to take the family. Great shows, food and rides. Not the biggest of parks, but it's great for a very full day.
If you’re in Orlando Dollywood is actually a reasonable last minute addition to your trip cuz it’s only a couple hours away. Y’all could make it a weekend side quest. I can’t wait till they discover Turkey Neck, sooo good🤤🤤🤤
😂Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. I went here as a purposeful 2 day side trip while driving back from Memphis. It is beautiful and peaceful. Great for kids. Occasionally, if you're lucky, Dolly Parton makes appearances around the theme park. The adjoining resort is a great place to stay. I have no interest in seeing Disney from the inside, but a few days in the Smoky Mountains is always a good trip.
I used to work at Dollywood as an actor on the train back when they still did shows halfway through the ride...we would stage train robberys I believe now it is just a beautiful ride through and around the park...I am 56 now and it was still one of my favorite jobs...
The Big Dipper roller coaster is the oldest wooden roller coaster in America. It’s in Santa Cruz, CA and it will snap your neck it’s so dang violent lol.
I live 2 hours from Dollywood. The theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee attracts around 3 million guests every year. In 2024, Dollywood was named the No. 1 theme park in the country by the National Amusement Park Historical Association and Tripadvisor.
beautiful hunk of meat. Naw... the Minnesota Renaissance Festival Turkey legs are the best you can find. pfft, afraid of a wooden coaster. The first roller coaster I ever road was the High Roller at Valleyfair, it's wood. So is Excalibur at the same park. I mean I haven't been there since 2004, so not sure if either one still exists. But there ya go. Also that tower ride. No thanks. That is legit my worst nightmare. Plummeting from heights. As to food prices yeah, can't relate. My mother worked at a company that gave employees massively discounted tickets for a specific day each year to go to Valleyfair. But around noon, we'd get our hands stamped, go to the car, grab our cooler and eat in one of the many picnic areas they had. I had no complaints, I was a kid, what did I know?
My family went up there for vacation this year. We stayed in a huge log cabin and had a mama black bear and her 3 cubs wander our back porch every night. It’s such a fun place and the mountains around there are stunning. The park has rides and entertainment. The food is great and the staff super friendly. Dollywood was created by Dolly Parton the famous country singer and actress blessed with a large bust and curves. She also has a reading program that gives children’s books to kids.
I lived in Knoxville, TN for almost 20 years, which is about 35-45 minutes from Dollywood. Once my kids were old enough to really enjoy it we always had season passes and went several times a year. It's so much fun and the food is always delicious. I live 500 miles away now and I really want some cinnamon bread now.
I haven't been to Dollywood in at least 20 years, but I still have amazing memories from it. It didn't have nearly as many rides as it does now, but the food was always great, the live shows were entertaining, and the atmosphere just has a certain type of aura while you're there. People always seem to be in their friendliest mood and you can make a day out of doing anything there. I had a blast feeding all of the koi they had in the pond. You'd put a quarter in and get a handful of fish food to throw out and they'd all go crazy like piranhas. And there were about a million turtles as well. It was just a ton of fun, but the absolute gold standard there was the train ride. You get to take a tour and see the cabin and go all around. It may not be at the same level as some of the other amusement parks out there, but it's one that just feels...comfortable. The atmosphere makes it even better.
Adam Couser, YOU WOULD LOVE DOLLYWOOD! You must come if you are traveling near Nashville Tennessee, Pidgeon Forge is the name of the area. Dollywood is Dolly Parton's own amusement park dedicated to the Smokey Mountain Appalachian culture! Yes, Dollywood has a very Southern easy going feeling to it unlike the rush of bigger amusement parks like Six Flags, Disney World or Universal Studios. Yes, the food is DELICIOUS! The Imagination Library that is shown in the Dolly Parton Museum is Dolly Parton's charity where children who are signed up with the program aged baby though i think 6 can get free books sent to them. Dolly Parton's father could not read or write although he was very smart so she was inspired by her father to set up that Imagination Library where you see the big numbers of books that have been distributed on that number tally inside the Dolly Parton Museum.
Dolly does so much for the people of Tennessee. Queen of Tennessee country. Elvis would only ride a wooden roller-coaster. When Sevierville was burning Dolly opened loads of places for people to stay. Then helped rebuild the place. Love her!!
Just went there in July it’s in a major tourist area called pigeon forge it’s one of the entrances to the great smoky mountain national parks with great views of the Appalachian mountains and great nature area the pigeon forge area is entirely touristy with dinner shows where they do a play as pirates while you eat or a dinner show with horsemanship they also have a lot of old colonial era cabins along with other attractions. One of the most visited tourist areas in the country
Bald Eagle name: The Latin name “Haliaeetus leucocephalus” means “white-headed sea eagle”, referencing its genus classification. The word “bald” refers to an old English use of the word meaning “white” since the head is distinctly feathered.
Bald Eagles are called 'bald' because when they named the bird way back in the early days of America, bald mean white-haired/white-headed, not hairless.
Dollywood is in the great Smokey mountains of Tennessee. Great place to visit. I always enjoy visiting the great Smokey mountains. I’ve went one time in middle school on a beta club trip to Dollywood. It was fun! Love Dolly Parton!
1:50 When sugar melts, it sticks to exposed skin like napalm, and when you try to remove it, it WILL take the skin, with it. Dude manning the kettle is dressed EXACTLY how he ought to be.
It’s funny that they said “WWDD what would dolly do?” Because I have some earrings that say that! She is an incredibly inspiring person and has done so much good in the world it’s unreal. When they wanted to induct her into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because of how many songs she has written that have been covered by rock artists she didn’t feel like she deserved it unless she had a rock song so she wrote one and performed it. She donated tons of money to develop the Covid vaccine but when they offered it to her in the first round of them she said she wouldn’t jump the line just because she donated and waited until the immuno suppressed and front line workers got there’s because she said it was more important for them to get it. She donates money to all kinds of causes. She has been a hero of mine for a long time!
Dollywood is just outside of Seveirville, which is just outside of Pigeon Forge, TN. My family used to go down to Pigeon Forge and stay in a cabin in the mountains. Pigeon Forge is literally PACKED with things to do. Mini Golf, museums, laser tag, you name it, it’s all packed onto one street in Pigeon Forge. My favorite was the Titanic museum, which is an exact replica of the ship. When we went a few years ago, they had the actual violin used by the musicians on board. Apparently it had been in an air tight case and so it was in perfect condition.
Hello from Knoxville TN! I lived about 30 minutes from Dollywood for years. Had a season pass to the park and water park (yes, there is a massive water park as well) for years. Pass would let you get into the park before the general public. I would drive to the park early in the morning almost every Sunday just to grab 6-10 loaves of the cinnamon bread for family and friends. It's that good... especially warm right out of the oven. ✌️
Great reaction... haven't been to Dollywood ... Im on the west Coast...but, yeah Dolly Parton is a legend here.... she's a fantastic human being...glad you saw this and I'm drooling over the food, too! 😊
My favorite part about Dollywood is the artist shops from the glasswork, leather, the candlemaking. Its a place that you can get american made items and see it being crafted in front of you. And the glassblowing-not sure if they still have it, havent been to TN in 8 years- but watching glass vases being made is so beautiful and awestruck. Dixie Stampede is also another Dolly attraction i love. Splash Country’s okay but i havent gone to it as much as Dixie. Oh fun fact behind Dollywood on the mountain is a place called Parrot Mountain which is as its name says a place with parrots, other birds like finches, toucans, some hawaiian birds-last I recall.
they are called "bald" because of the white plumage on their head There's a movie reactor on youtube called Awkward Ashleigh. She went there and one of the things on site is you can stay in Dolly's tour bus/RV when she's not on tour, and she did.
I lived for a few years just across the Smoky Mountain National Park from Pidgeon Forge, TN (where Dollywood is) in Townsend, TN ("the quiet side of the Smokies"). We got family passes to Dollywood. Aside from the regular stuff all summer they have special weeks (one for kids, one for gospel music, one for bluegrass, one with performers from all over the world, etc.). And the regular music shows in the park as as good as you will find anywhere. Plus there is a waterpark that is owned by the same people if you want a lot of wet rides that are just across the road from DW called Splash Country. And for the Christmas season they put up something like 6 million Christmas lights! It really is a cool place.
Dollywood is in the neighboring state from where I grew up, but it opened after I moved away. The first time I watched Jolly's video I looked online and found the recipe for the Cinnomon Bread, so you can try it at home if you want. I have done a wooden roller coaster at King's Island park called The Beast which was a lot of fun.
LOVE Dollywood! It's in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee which is a very short drive from Gatlinburg, TN (a fantastic touristy vacation destination). Dolly Parton is a National Treasure -- very successful, very talented and very generous.
Dollywood is in the Great Smokey Mountains. My family has been going there for 30+ years. Dollywood is AWESOME! We go every year! I LOVE ROLLER COASTERS! It's the only place you can scream and not cause panic.
I live a couple hours away from Dollywood and absolutely love vacationing there! Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg has so many amazing things to do and see, the view is beyond breathtaking! They are called the Smokey Mountains, you HAVE to go during fall for when the leaves change there's nothing like it😊
Despite with Josh said, kettle corn is not caramelized corn. Kettle corn is only lightly sweetened. Caramelized corn has a lot more sugar and it is cooked until the sugar turns brown or caramelized. They have two different looks and two different tastes. I think the sugar is cooked until it’s caramelized first and then tossed in with the popped corn to make caramelized corn.
I am a Tennessee native from Knoxville and Dolly Parton is a Tennessee Treasure as well as a National Treasure. Her Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is one of the best theme parks in America.
I LOVE the Jolly gents! But even more, I absolutely look forward to your reaction to their videos. Your asides, drools, and remarks make me literally LOL every time! Yes, I did get to go to Dollywood. It was right after I had foot surgery so I rented one of the little motorized Dolly carts with a sun topper and tooled around to every live show in the park. It was an amazing experience!
i was VERY recently in dollywood, beginning of september, and it's EVEN BETTER than they make it out to be. there is so much more they did not show and a lot more INCREDIBLE food that they missed out on. the whole atmosphere of the place in incredible. it's like a lot more mellow, relaxed version of disneyland nestled in at the foot of the smoky mountains. it's so charming, everything is clean, the staff is incredibly friendly, the food is delicious and the hotels are an experience unto themselves. i highly recommend it to anyone.
We went on a family vacation to Dollywood. It was great! Very family friendly. The absolute best amusement park in America is Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio! Take care!
You may be surprised, wood is still a very good building material and we use it for many things people wouldn’t think of in the south! You will never see anything other than wood shoring up coal mines, wood will bow and begin popping and cracking before failure, steel just goes without warning taking everyone inside with it!
Dollywood is in East Tennesee, adjoiningthe 'Great Smokey Mountains National Park' the most visited national park in the country. Near Dolly Partin's home town.
Heck I'm in the states and probably wont have a chance to go there... but I really want to. Food looks divine! Valley Fair here is probably equivalent to what is in the UK.. pricey parks with over priced mediocre food.
Bald eagles got the name because of their head being covered in all white feathers. Remember they can fly very high and in the distance the white feathers makes it look like they are "bald". The imagination library are books that Dolly Parton has given away to promote literacy. "As of November 2023, Dolly's childhood literacy program has gifted over 224 million books to children across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and the Republic of Ireland."
Finally i see one of your videos on the actual day it posted! I only recently started getting recommendations for your channel but its all 2 weeks old. My husband and i went to Tennessee recently for our summer vacation. We saw the 4th if July parade in Gatlinburg, which was awesome, but we didnt go to Dollywood. It was a little pricey and we didnt have time as we had plans to visit family and go river rafting. I watched this Jolly video and now Im kinda sad we didnt visit Dollywood lol.
Hello from Knoxville TN. I live about a hour's drive away from Dollywood. I'm new to your channel but loving it. Saw your reaction, and commented on Top 5 Guns... and now binge-watching your other videos. Keep up the great work! (My family are immigrants from Chapelhall Scotland)
The beast was my first big coaster as soon as got tall enough. Of course those we the days of Hanna Barbera Land being at the park...lol. I ❤️ Vortex too
Ive been to Dollywood, it was genuinely my favorite theme park ive been to by FAR. It has such a unique charm to it. I just wish Dolly Parton herself came for a visit since I heard she makes visits to the park occasionally
Ireland has an amusement park. It was originally called Tayto Park when it opened, it changed names and is now Emerald Park…they built two new roller coasters this year.
"Accolades continue to pour in for Dollywood this year, besting Disney parks, once again, in the theme park game. The Pigeon Forge attraction was named the No. 1 theme park in the United States in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards."
Went there in the early 90’s and I was probably 5.. it was very calming with all the nature along side the attractions and food. Lots of good food, fun rides for kids, and I remember lots of stalls with wood carvings going on.
LIVE right NOW (pls come say hello) www.twitch.tv/adamcouser

As an American, I sure hope you visit us Adam. You will be most welcome

Not only TN but other states too.

Dolly has given the actual recipe for the Cinnamon Bread at Dollywood
Dough:
½ cup warm water
¾ teaspoon active dry yeast
1 tablespoon plus a pinch white sugar, divided
1 ½ cups bread flour
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
Cooking spray
***
Topping:
¼ cup white sugar
¼ cup packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
***
Glaze:
1 ¼ cups confectioners' sugar
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 to 5 tablespoons milk
Pinch salt
***
Step 1
Combine warm water, yeast and a pinch of white sugar in a small bowl and whisk. Allow the mixture to sit until foamy, about 5 to 8 minutes.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a stand mixer, whisk bread flour, remaining 1 tablespoon white sugar, salt and melted butter. Once the yeast mixture is foamy, add it to your stand mixer. Using the dough hook, knead on medium speed until the dough is smooth and stretchy, about 8 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer the dough ball to a bowl lightly greased with cooking spray.
Step 4
Place the loaves on a parchment-lined baking sheet and cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in a warm environment until puffy, about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Step 5
Meanwhile, make the topping by whisking white sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon in a small baking dish. Whisk melted butter and corn syrup in a separate small baking dish.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and line two 9x5-inch loaf pans with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on both sides. Cut four deep slashes across the top of each loaf (the loaves will deflate).
Step 7
Dip each loaf in the butter-corn syrup mixture, coating it completely, then coat with the cinnamon-sugar mixture, making sure the mixtures get in all the crevices.
Step 8
Place loaves in prepared loaf pans and drizzle with any remaining butter and cinnamon sugar. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Lift the bread out of the loaf pans and let cool, about 15 minutes.
Step 9
While the bread cools, make the glaze by whisking confectioners' sugar, salt, melted butter and 3 tablespoons milk in a bowl until smooth. Whisk in up to 2 more tablespoons of milk if needed to thin out the glaze.
Step 10
Drizzle the glaze on the warm loaves or serve on the side for dipping.
Thank you so much for sharing this recipe😃. You rock.❤️✌️🌼
Ohhh, my goodness! ❤
Thank you for this! ❤❤❤
I made some last week for the first time. It's SO good.
Thank you so much!!
She also helped out the town when we had a wildfire.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library mails out nearly 1 million free books each month to children in the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Dollywood is a lade back Southern experience. Not a profit driven park like Disney or Universal.
PREACH!!
We love Dollywood, we go every September and stay in a Dollywood cabin. It's the best place to be. The cinnamon bread is so good!!
They are suffering from eating Nashville hot chicken the day before. God Bless them.🤣🤣🤣🤣
The sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg TN, Cherokee NC corridor in the Great Smokies is a family adventure wonderland.
I doubt its "Woke" either!
I’m headed there in October! Can’t flippin wait!!!! ❤️ Dolly!!!!
Me too!!
Have Fun!!
They are called Bald eagles because back in the day when they were named bald just meant that they were white headed
This. Really makes you realize that the people from history named things like “Charles the Bald” weren’t actually necessarily bald, they were white-haired or something.
@@spacetiger5076 Exactly.
Apple butter is peeled apples and sugar cooked for a long time over low heat. You can add lemon juice too.
Yeah its like applesauce with cinnamon and sugar and cooked until its not too watery, more pasty and easy to spread on sone toast. Its amazing to eat in the fall and winter
Good too
😂😂 he takes a bite then slides down the stick
My grandkids all get the books free from her library. They are really nice and the kids look forward to them.
I'm really surprised how many people don't know who Dolly Parton is...She's as big as Elvis ever was, but she's still alive.
I'd be on the same boat if I wasn't living in the same house as a person who doesn't know who Dolly Parton is.
I wouldn’t say that she is that she’s probably a distant second or third. I can think of a couple other people to throw in there.
Country music is not big outside of the US so it doesn’t surprise me that people outside of the US know who she is. I’m actually surprised that Adam does know who she is.
I’m American and idk who that is. I might have heard the name before but idk who that is. I’m 27 so before my time I guess
@@-KingBeast- Not before your time at all. This video wasn't made decades ago. It was made this season. lol
Lived in east TN all my life and Dollywood, especially the food, puts Disney world to shame!!❤
17:27 Back when Bald Eagles were named bald meant white headed not bald as we know it today.
I've been there many times. It's a great place to take the family. Great shows, food and rides. Not the biggest of parks, but it's great for a very full day.
Bald eagle is also known as piebald eagle, which describes the "white head" of the bird.
If you’re in Orlando Dollywood is actually a reasonable last minute addition to your trip cuz it’s only a couple hours away. Y’all could make it a weekend side quest. I can’t wait till they discover Turkey Neck, sooo good🤤🤤🤤
It's way more than a couple hours from Orlando.
Hollywood is kicking azz and really fun in winter. They go all out for Christmas
Dolly Parton owns 50% of the park, and the park is currently valued at $136 Million
The white feathers on their heads makes them look "bald" from a distance or whilst flying
My son was in portrush this summer with our church. Did the cliff diving. He loved it.
The wood coasters are the best. The sounds make it so much more terrifying, but they are perfectly safe
Love Dollywood, I live about 3 hours away in Chattanooga Tennessee
Dolly is the most adored person in the US. Universally. ❤❤❤
Adam, Dolly Parton is the nicest person on the planet. She never brags about what she's doing but she's doing the most.
They are called Baled Eagles because around the time of America becoming a country the word bald meant white headed or simply white hair.
Oh fun fact behind Dollywood on the mountain is a place called Parrot Mountain which is as its name says a place with parrots, other birds like finches, toucans, some hawaiian birds-last I recall.
they are called "bald" because of the white plumage on their head
There's a movie reactor on youtube called Awkward Ashleigh.
Dolly gives books to all the kids, mine got dozens of great books over the years. Love her!
Dolly Parton owns Dollywood. Shes an amazing person and humanitarian. She gives back to many many ppl.
Love Adam! Best commentaries, always makes me laugh! ".....close that sandwich up and just eat it." 😂
I am a Tennessee native from Knoxville and Dolly Parton is a Tennessee Treasure as well as a National Treasure. Her Dollywood Theme Park in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is one of the best theme parks in America.
i love dollywood!! i just went 2 weeks ago!! so much freaking fun i loved it!!!!
Take care!
I was just there last week! One of the best theme parks in America!
I never got a chance to visit Dollywood, even though it is just north to the state I'm from. My cousins went though and they loved it.
We have a Wooden Roller Coaster here
in Ohio at King's Island called The Beast .
Open in 1979.. 110 Feet High.. 65MPH
My family used to go every year, place is great!
I absolutely love your energy and enthusiasm! Great channel!!!!
Great place you got to check out the area. It’s grown so much over the years. The cabin rentals in that area are the best also.
In times past, all rollercoasters structures were made of wood. There are only a few left and they are considered a treasure and antiques.
Dollywood is just an incredible theme park. It’s got anything you could ever want and a theme park and more.
