That Mammoth game is my favorite game by Konami. I've gotten good wins on low bets on that game. It's low volatility as long as you play the 30 or 40 line version. There are 10 line versions that are high volatility but pay enormous if you can hit.
Maybe I’m wrong but if the RNG is independent for each machine then the algorithm for payment would be respective to the one machine. So if it’s set to an 98% payout if someone just hit that means the majority of the return was just paid out. Which means to get back to the homeostasis of 98% it would have to reduce the payout making it less likely to win.
