A nice little kit. (Though dealing with tracks and roadwheels is difficult here.) I've built several of these Airfix Matildas, but not the Hedgehog version. Your video is very well put together, by the way. Like the use of the turntable to give us a good look at the whole thing.
The Matilda has been re tooled then upgraded to the hedgehog ver. The pieces are from an old run but never removed from the runner. This is very common to finish a model according to the instructions as many similar models share parts. Keep all of these spear parts in a box for latter modifications or dioramas. If you never find a use and collect a lot of parts the box can be sold for quite a bit/ aka bits box.
A side from a nice looking tank I really like the new box design from Airfix. They really know how to get everyone attention with the red trim. Good paint guild feature with what paint to use. very nice little kit you made here. See if you can work on some modern armor when you get the chance.
i have got two pieces left on my runner but it doesnt show were it has to go they r number 45 and 46 it like a little barrel shaped thing can u help thanks
I got what appears to be an external fuel tank with two mounting brackets. I thought they fit underneath the Hedgehog (where there are two small indentations on the vertical plate above the exhaust/muffler) and it fit perfectly but impedes the traversing of the Hedgehog. Is it supposed to be attached there without the Hedgehog or does it belong somewhere else? It's not mentioned in the instructions, oddly enough.
They might be parts for a flame thrower model or a different version of the Matilda. Have a look at some photos of the real tank on google and its variants to make sure.
This is quite common, I normally keep the spare parts for future kitbash or scratch build projects. If you only do OOB over time if enough spare parts are collected you can sell the collection on ebay for quite a bit.
Manufactured in Merseyside, England at the Vulcan Foundry as well as other plants/ sites. It was how ever used by different British territories. The video depicts an Australian variant that was refitted here.
The normal matilda with english marking is now out too. Got one in the stash and happy to build it again.

Ah yes, it's placed where I thought it should be in the image for the flamethrower. Thanks

British tank not English tank, there’s more to the British Isles than just England
