The production values have improved so much in recent videos, great job! I love to see the difference in gear and experience between the bedroom/attic studios against purpose-built venues like Gorbals.
A stunning studio complex and glad my in- head question was answered. Seems a re-surgence into big studios is happening. As much as I work from a room at home, I love the experience of working in a studio with others. It is important they keep going, as one day proper artists will knock the shallow pop world of it's vocal enhanced podium, like analogue synths have.
There's a real emergence of proper studios in Scotland. I just came back from touring the Highlands and I discovered a recording studio, Black Isle Recordings --AMAZING-- you should check it out! Blew my mind!! 7 rooms in a converted church...they are still building/finishing it but are doing albums next year., plus there's a mastering suite in a separate outbuilding. Incredible vintage gear. Do a video there please..i might not get back up that way for a couple of years.
Oh that tales me back, festival FOH trying to get good level from Seckou Keitas's kora (before the days he had pickups installed) Would love to have had the opportunity to record him in a studio. Afro-Celtic always threw up new challenges getting it all heard.
I've been looking at this studio for a while recorded at sarm in London this looks a great place. Hope I can get 30 singers in the one room .
