Such a fantastic lesson! You made this look so easy and fun to paint! You have such a wonderful way of explaining how to paint something that looks so difficult to do. You and Jon are just the best. You had us laughing and just enjoying the both of you as much as we enjoyed the lesson! Thank you, thank you!
Ginger, you have taken an iconic work of art out of art's history book to teach painters how to paint their own versions of this masterpiece by Vincent van Gogh. What has always been seen as intimidating to even consider painting it, no longer does; you have dispelled any myth we cannot. Thank you for your gifted ability to teach with excellence and always making the process of acrylic painting a fun experience.
I don't know what I enjoy most...your stories of places you went to or the actual lessons here!! I joined your academy recently and am on a role of your Van Gogh video's. You should show up first on youtube for art lessons. I have joined several over the past year and at least with you, there is some growth available for people like me who want to learn. I personally need a challenge or I will get bored and loose interest. You guys are the best!!
Thanks so much, your support and kind comments mean a lot. Art hugs from Jon and me. Really appreciate your taking the time to share your experience with us.
I initially had no interest in doing portraits. Now I see it as a challenge and finally watched the tutorial. You had me cracking up the entire time. How you can ever get moving without coffee, I'll never know LOL. Hopefully after doing Mr. Van Gogh's portrait, I'll be brave enough to do mine. You explain everything so well, I will try my best.
Ginger Cook Thank you Ginger💖 I’m very glad I did Van Gogh 1st before starting my own. Hopefully mine will be done sometime this evening. I put in 3 hrs already earlier today before going to work. I’m pleased how it’s coming out.
So glad you are back safe and sound. I really miss the live shows... they're so much more than a painting lesson. You two are so entertaining and the stories are wonderful.
we have had over 150 fb friends in our acrylic painting club do them... and were amazed how well they came out... super well and I posted them in a special page on PInterest... see gingercooklive all one word and check out the portrait board of our club members. www.pinterest.com/gingercooklive/2019-selfie-challenge-ginger-cook-facebook-club-ye/
Welcome back!!! We missed you guys!! If you do a selfie painting can you do a live or fly on the wall? We would love to paint you too!! 💛 You are amazing and deserve 1 trillion subs! Don’t let the TH-cam computers get you down :)
Watched this at least 3 times now. Gee guys, love your humour! Lol. What an awesome video. Starting it tomorrow and hope to try the selfie as well. Love you both. ❤️😘👏🏻
Great fun - even tho I'm watching a few days later than the live recording, I really missed you two.loved your stories and your final commercial. It was a great lesson can't wait to try the selfie VVG style.
One of the few lives I was able to stay awake for....had my grandchildren so I had to stay up late! So much fun...you two make me laugh...such an enjoyable tutorial and I just happen to have an orange background all set to go!
I was at the Van gogh museum in Amsterdam the day before you Ginger, I was so shocked to see your photo with John the day after, we could've met in person!! I live in Italy, this is such a small world!! Gosh I was a bit disappointed with the museum too, I wanted to see Starry night! lol
Wow, we were just there that day as came on a ship and it was in port for just a few hours. would have been fun to meet up though. glad you thought what i did about that museum... was expecting more.
Great to have you back! Love this portrait of Van Gogh, it should be fun and educational to try to paint. I also enjoyed hearing about the museums that you visited.
Hey there Ginger and Jon, I’m sorry I missed the Live Show.. Happy to see you ☺️ I like Realism. Fun show, Ginger, you kept me laughing over tales from your tours.. Looks fun to paint. 👍☺️💖. Take care and God Bless, Chris-Raleigh NC
Hello Ginger and John, thank you for putting all that work into your videos. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love this tutorial! The portrait came out fabulous! I will paint this soon. By the way I enjoyed listening to the story about your vacation.
@@gingercooklive What an excellent idea I will but god Ginger I have been battling with myself for 4 days now each day ending with a repainted background haha first freehand then wrong griding now today I have a pic that is ok from afar and in b and w easier for me. I will colour it when done if ever that day comes. Who's idea was this bahaaaaaaaaa. Then Ziva and Fred that will be easier for me.
Also i found a good way to help is use a lot of those modes on the phone that let you do greyscale etc and each one helps you see different lights. You know how I am with light haha
Oh my goodness Ginger, this will be fantastic, as soon as I have time I'm going to love this one. I was waiting for a portrait. Ty for eveything you teach us, so excited :)
Love your tutorials, can you please consider to paint STARY NIGHT OVER THE RHONE By Van Gogh,(it's an amazing painting, but seems quite tough)? It's just a suggestion of course, thank you for considering it. Thanks again for sharing yr talent!
Really love this lesson guys. When it comes to video tutorials the quality of your production is fantastic. Great close ups and your descriptions of what you are doing is so much fun as well as educational. Loved your travel stories I was so on the same page as you Ginger regarding the crowded tours in Russia...been there done that too lol.
I know its no fun with 44k people all cramming in trying to see the same thing at the same time. but we are glad we went and just know now to book private tours. One of our friends did a Holland America ship to st perersberg and they got an evening tour of the Hermatage with just their group, as the museum was close and only open to them... How cool would that have been.
Love how your red undertones show through I'm going to use this tip for my next portrait? Will it work? So strange as soon as I wrote this you said we're to do a challenge with our own face lol, I'm watching the day after and loving that you're both back, so much to learn and so much fun ty!!!
Awesome painting and tutorial! And what a fun show!! I so enjoy when you tell your stories! You make me giggle! I prefer impressionism when it comes about portraits! Artsy hugs from a sunny Sweden ( my parts of the country at least lol )
