    Hello Chico, glad that Guz is up and running now!! You've been working so hard on him. All that you've done is so impressive. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about my Rc and to do little jobs myself, emphasis on "little." Anyway, enjoy Guz! Peaceful journey!

    What you could do to insulate more the doghouse is find the material at a scrap yard. Many large cars have a black fireproof thick felt attached to the inside of the hood. You could use this material to insulate the engine. It is fireproof and sound deadening too. I guess you could buy that for a few bucks, try a large car with a big hood like a Taurus or Cadillac or something. Then just stick it there with spay on high temp adhesive? I don't know about the way your engine is setup, but a transmission cooler would be a nice addition and good large fans to suck the air from the radiator and push it on the engine, but maybe you already have those. Also, a high flow air filter will make a BIG difference in cooling the engine, it stays cooler when it breathes well. Just my two cents. Say hi to Rufus for me. Take care.

    Make sure you carry an extra belt with you. They always break at the worst times.
    My old 97 Southwind was a Chevy chassis and they were known for cracking headers. So I ran two dryer vents from the front to the sides of the engine to help move air in the dog house. Cooled it down a lot. Just some possible hints.

  • @cruyeda
    @cruyeda 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You could get "Dyna Mat". It has a sticky side and you can trim it to fit. You could also spray on "Lizard Skin". Both fight heat and noise. The glue on your tape will melt and the heat shield will fall again.

    Hey Chico ... if you find replacement materials for doghouse, please post it .. our Triton V10 is loud and anything to deaden the noise would be helpful .. replacing the rubber edging around the doghouse also helps reduce heat from engine.

    Looks good Chico! I'm kinda concerned about the plug for you scanner. Is there a chance of moisture or road spray getting into those connections? And if it did would it cause problems unless it's already covered? But anyway your AWESOME Chico! I LOVE your video's! :-)

    • @RufusNDufus
      @RufusNDufus 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Craig Sawyer The plug is a very tight fit and te end of the extension cable has a cap on it. You are correct about the concern, if it were not protected it would be a bad idea. Thanks for pointing it out. Have a great day and thank you Craig!

      Wtf are you talking about dude?

    • @bbcooter388
      @bbcooter388 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I think what Eric Sweet is talking about is the recall for several RV refrigerators. They had a tendency to catch fire and burn up the RV.
      There is no danger if the refrigerator is not being used (Eric you can now sleep).
      If Chico's fridge is on the recall list then he can take Guz to an RV shop and they can order and install a "kit" which adds extra shielding and thermal sensors to the refrigerator. The retro-fit kit takes about an hour to install. My RV fridge was on the recall list and I arranged for Camping World to order and install the kit at no charge to me. To check to see if an RV fridge is on the recall list, search for "RV refrigerator recall" and follow the links.
