  • I have tried stamping gel polish before and it was an absolute nightmare. I ordered these polishes months ago, but had such a bad experience the first time I put it off. Now, I totally regret it! Come check this out!

UberChic's gel stamping polish seems like a hybrid polish with some sort of solvent. It does dry, in absence of using the lamp (which would be caused by solvents dissipating). It smells different and it's annoying. However, it does work well. You didn't give it a fair chance. First...you need to clean that plate prior to use. You should have washed the head with blue Dawn dishwashing liquid to degrease it. AND you should have been wiping that scraper before each use so that it's clean. I might have also shaken the bottle very well before use. I think that either grease is interfering with the finer lined designs or it's slightly separating, which impacts the finer lined designs.

      Hello Mitzygoose,
Let’s chat. I went back and watched this video again (because it was filmed over a year ago). At the 2 minute mark, I believe I start expressing how much I DID enjoy this product. So why you’re saying I didn’t give it a fair chance is beyond me. I also explained that I already used it in another mani and it was great.
I also directly mentioned in the video it doesn’t dry. You may be right that it does. Rather than sit around and wait, I did make an assumption that because the product is labeled as gel and in an opaque bottle it would not and used a lamp to cure it. If you want to be pedantic about it, any gel will dry if left out over an extended period or if exposed to any kind of UV light, including sunlight for an extended period of time. I’m aware of how the basic chemistry of nail and gel polishes work. And yeah, it smells like a flea collar. I stand by that. I also clearly said in the video, again around the 2 minute mark that I think it’s a hybrid polish.
I don’t know what in the world makes you think my plates weren’t clean. As you can see if you look at my channel with over 200 videos, including tips for beginners, I am well aware of how to clean my plates and scrapers. I EVEN SHOW I’m cleaning the plate in the video. When my scraper looks dirty in the video I had flipped it to the other clean side. This is a viable option to save time as you’re only using one edge of the scraper at a time. The polish was 100% also shaken before use. Come on now. REALLY?
I don’t buy into the Dawn dish soap rule for stamper heads. Nor do I soak them on paper overnight or use any of the other excuses for why an inability to stamp is blamed on the stamper. FYI- I use a lint roller on my heads if needed, but ALL of mine have come out of their original packages good to go. I find 99.9% of the time, inability to pick up an image is user error. As I mentioned in the video, the product is nice, but has a learning curve.
What I discovered after additional use, is to let it sit on the plate a few seconds longer to settle, then pick it up. That helps.
What I also learned since then, because anyone who stamps for years can still learn things, is this product isn’t really necessary for stamping at all. It’s just as easy to stamp with regular stamping polish on a gel base, stamp, make sure it’s dry, then topcoat with gel.
Last, while I always hope to come off as jovial and polite in my videos, do not mistake that as someone who doesn’t give their honest opinion. I’m not the kind of woman who sits back, smiles, and gives fake or false reviews. If I find a product difficult, I say it. If I don’t like something, I say it. If I love it, I say it. I don’t care who owns it, who sent it to me, or if I buy it on my own.
It’s up to you to listen to those things, absorb them, and take my opinions as you will. Feel free to love, hate, or ignore them.
What is not ok for you to do is to make an assumption or indicate that I am unclean, ignorant, or in need of a basic stamping lesson. The volume of condescending comments you made above is wholly unnecessary, rude, and unwelcome.

Ive had all the same issues as you have and also my stamper picks up the smear marks on the stamp plate and I have 7 different stampers. I was as frustrated as your first video too. The stamping gel just seams to be a big pain in the ass unless Im doing something wrong but I feel like Ive tried everything, lol. Just frustrating

It is a hassle. I honestly can't see a reason to use it. You cans tamp with regular polish, then gel topcoat. Same result, and less having to buy new products JUST for gel.

You are having trouble with it because you are supposed to buff the shine off your gel polished nails and wiping clean before stamping onto them.

I don't buff my gel polish base before stamping and never had any problems.. especially if you are reverse stamping and your image has dried that sticky layer picks that image right up.. that's why people use things like Orly bonder so I don't understand why you are saying you need to buff and wipe 🤷🏼‍♀️.. I'm not saying you are wrong but I am just curious as to why bc that tacky layer helps so much with picking up an image. It doesn't distort my image at all what do you use for reverse stamping if no tacky layer

    • @jenpierce2385
      @jenpierce2385 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@AidenisMaster2015I've never seen that you have to buff especially before stamping bc anyone who stamps knows if your image dries it's not going to transfer.. I've also never heard that in general unless you are doing an isolated chrome image but that's not what is being talked about here.. I personally leave the tacky layer bc it grabs the image when stamping.. and in general. The only time I wipe is if the gel topcoat isn't a no wipe ❤

I'm thinking it's how much they are using! I see most videos where people put just one swipe on the side, and swipe across fast a couple times to fill in the stamp. And I've seen where people cure in between the stamps.

Absolutely 100% no. That is an OLD technique which has no relevance on a clear stamper unless you want it to no no longer be clear. I'm not ruining a stamper, for something I can stamp with another polish, get a better result, and dry without a light.
