Yes. Thank you for your words about this MKAL drama. I CANNOT believe that there are people who find the time that they spent knitting more important to them than fighting for the "right" to finish their knitting and know that they are then going to wear something that some people will see a hate symbol on. I mean...
Hello! I’m so excited to see your updates! Thoroughly enjoyed this video and the colors you’ve selected are magnificent. Good luck! May you find yourself finishing this MKAL!
Oh my goodness, I'm obsessed with your color choices! (So nothing new here, ha!) I had a lovely time sitting and knitting with you, as I also wake up hours before I have to go anywhere mostly so I can start my day slowly with knitting and coffee. Excited to see your shawl progress. Enjoy your knitting!
Thanks for watching AND subscribing! Yay!! I normally wouldn't gravitate to that pale peach either because it's so close to my skin tone. It's fun to have it be a highlight rather than the main colour. Now we just have to see where clue 2 takes us!
So nice to see you back Suzen. The colours you picked for the MKAL look really good together. I wasn't aware of the controversy around the first clue, but I've been off the socials for ages and I don't normally join mkals as I'm such a slow knitter!! Will be fun to see your progress with it
Thanks for coming to hang out! I normally don't join any kind of KAL because the pressure to have something finished, or even update a group of people in a forum about my progress, is really overwhelming. Maybe it feels too much like a school assignment? 😅 I think the only way I can be successful is to just work at my own pace on the periphery, which is kind of opposite to what a KAL is supposed to encourage LOL Oh well!
I use tags on my yarns, too. I also include where and when I got it, so when I dig in deep stash, I know. Love your colors. It reminds me of a fall sunset. Your attitude towards the pivot is so refreshing. So many have had problems with the pivot, but you cannot possibly design as much as SW does and not eventually have a problem - whether it's a design element that doesn't look like you planned or an error in the pattern itself. The more I see of this pattern, the more I may have to buy it. Especially since it's on sale this weekend.
I am really loving how it is coming together. There's always such a risk when you join an MKAL because of well.. the whole mystery of it all 😅 But you're totally right! Folks make mistakes all the time and you can't be that big of a knitting celebrity without experiencing some kind of blunder. I think he's handled it really well. To be honest, isn't pivoting a part of the creative process anyway? Like we always encounter problems or mistakes or challenges in knitting or any kind of making and we just switch it up until we get it right. I dunno, those are just my thoughts anyway :)
I love your colours together, although when you were talking about making your choices, I was convinced there'd be a fluoro pink in there 🤣 My mornings also start with some crafting and journaling. Lately I've been switching that to a timed session of weaving in ends or mending. Then I can knit.
Hello from Ontario, glad to have found you. I'm working on my MKAL as I watch your episode. Also a January baby who needs 2hrs to ease into my day...and that's exactly the way I phrase it, just like you did 😊
Hi!!! Welcome, welcome! I keep wishing for shorter work days and longer weekends but the universe isn't listening. Gotta find that time where we can, right?
I use a 2nd Generation iPad Pro and it has been treating me great! I did go higher-end at the time because my intention was to use it like a laptop and wanted the ability to run more intensive apps like the video editing stuff I use. I've been using it since 2020 or so and it's been pretty good so far!
So lovely to see you again! Love the hair ❤ and your colors are going to be stunning. Thanks for clarity on going with the new version.
Your original is so beautiful

Your colors are beautiful! I appreciate how thoughtful and calm you are about the MKAL pivot. Enjoy your knitting.🌻

I am obsessed with them too lol! It's the purple that really gets me -- aaahhh!!! Thank you for hanging out with me!
You're colors are stunning. I never would have chosen the lightest color, but it looks amazing. Liked and subscribed 💚🧶💚

So happy to see you back creating content!
I love your colors!! Stephen West MKALs are so much fun!!
They really are a hoot! And I am hoping that this year will be the year I actually see one through from start to finish :D

@@notalazysuzen yep, I hear you with the overwhelm! Going at your own pace sounds like a good plan. No point getting stressed about it 😊

@@notalazysuzen so I went stash diving to see what I have that may go together. I'm going to look at it in sunlight to see if I still like it.
oh my goddd thats the perfect color combination
Hooray, you’re back! I love your colors too! It makes me want to pick my Vertices Unite back up.

Ha! There will always be some kind of neon pink SOMEWHERE. Maybe there will be an opportunity to throw in a neon pink splash in clue 4? We'll see!

I agree, a pleasant long weekend surprise! I look forward to how your mkal shawl progresses. 🍊
Here's hoping that a little vlogging can help me finish this project 😂
What a nice way to end my Sunday with a video from you‼
Surprise! :)
Love your MKAL colors so much! Very excited to see it progress.
