Thank you very much that is exactly what I was going for 🤔 I have learnt from my E Type that the 4 speed box doesn't quite cut it 😉Cheers Dave

Great idea to have the rod in the middle ❤

Nice to see the progress. I like the new prop rod location. As you say it is in the way on either side anyway.

Hi Dave the XK150 is looking great. I’m sure you’ll solve the thread diameter problem for the speedo cable. But the steering column issue is a pain. I had a slightly similar problem with my E Type when I changed the wheel and boss assembly. Didn’t realise there was a problem until a speed bump left me with the steering wheel in my chest as it extended to its fullest length. My local blacksmith garage made a round shim washer and the adjusting nut closed down hard on it. Problem solved. Good luck!😉

Alan, Thanks, Amir made a shim but it wasn't thick enough but it concerns me that it only goes on half way 3/4 and I may have let it go 🤔one of my problems after rebuilding my 66 E type was the boot would unlock if I went over a bump or railway crossing at an angle but we got it in the end. Cheers Dave

I had that with my boot/tailgate and mine is FHC. Same garage adjusted the door hinge by getting their strongest mechanic to bend it 🥴 Fun of old cars eh?

Alan, The old classics can defiantly be a challenge at times for sure 🤔🤣😂 Cheers Dave

Watching you build this Beautiful Car from what was needed, the upgrades were Great and I wonder how many XK-150 owners are copying some of those "upgrades"? don't beat yourself up on a little old Lock Nut !!!

Thanks i really appreciate the support. I have always wanted this to be a car my wife & I can tour around Europe in but also be comfortable and mechanically
sound. To me the few upgrades that have been made don't take away from the cars aesthetics but hopefully enhance the experience. Cheers Dave

HiDave. These problems keep occuring. Sure you will get over them. Steering lock. Is it worth checking the threads with a thread guage to make sure they exactly match. Also measure across in different places with a vernier for any machining error. We have used thresd scrapers in the past to get out of trouble. Cables. There is a firm here called Johnsons Cables who will make any type of cable you want. Also Speedograph-Richfield have done instruments for me and made a good job. If the square end is too big can you carefully grind it down a bit. Regards, David.

David, I had the same conversation with a friend in NY tonight and he said try a thread gauge or use a veneer gauge. Thanks for the info it‘s great that I have viewers who totally understand what the issues are I‘m up against. Thanks again David you have brought up some great points which I will look at. Cheers Dave

Morning Dave. You're bound to have these little snags but , the bonnet stay . If it sits between the cam covers is there a chance it could arc out on the spark plugs ? Just a thought ..... lf you cranked the rod at the bonnet end it would rest well away from the spark plugs .Cheers.

John, The hinge that Amir made doesn't allow the rod to drop past the the rubber support clip which is an original part of the design. I wanted the rod to sit straight so it was in line with the cam covers and not noticeable that it was never fitted there in the first place if you know what I mean 🤔 Cheers Dave

those wire wheels are more original,

Michael, The new wheels i bought are 72 spoke wires from MWS which was fitted to the car in 58, There cheaper to buy new then have old wire wheels
reconditioned . Even the spinners are new as the ears get damaged with hammering but i have an alloy tool which doesn't need an hammer. Cheers Dave
