Good morning👋 Hope you enjoyed the Volvo FH 500, please don’t forget to give the video a thumbs up if you liked it. This will help to grow the channel🎬 Thanks for watching👍 Stavros969
Hi sir, i m Bilal, from Pakistan. I m your subscriber. I like very much your speaking style. Very nice and useful information about the trucks. I appreciate your efforts to make useful videos, I m a Trailer driver, I like you sir. God bless you and your family, thanks for nice videos. Sam is very cute 😍. Thanks once again.
I am from the usa and am trying to get a cabover because I see to many small yards but it's the opposite here we love the long nose trucks I do like the bigger cad myself but give and take least it will be a good start
And here I am, an American, driving trucks in America, excited that Scania is coming over to Canada, and hoping to see more FH's being brought to North America. The testing that Volvo and Groupe Robert did, went exceedingly well, with the drivers loving them, the mechanics loved them, and they were equally fuel efficient as the VN they were testing against, hauling the same weights.
I don't like the amount of wasted space on our conventionals, a longline sized bunk on a cabover is perfect, especially with the set back steer axle. I had a buddy that was testing the new Mack Anthems for Volvo, and he was trying to get the steering tag for his truck, as we both felt the reduction in scrub would extend tire life, and improve fuel economy.
I personally love that Volvo has placed the shifter to the side of the seat, i can use it without looking at it. In the Daf or Scania you have to look at were it is when manouvering back and forth. So please Volvo, keep it as it is.
Nice video stavros & Sam. I've just shown this video to my 83 year old neighbour who is a x driver and it's blown him away. The one thing that he really liked of all things was the electric blind. Looking forward to next week's video Cheers.
Hi Stavros. Great video as usual. This motor is specced nicely. Perhaps some alloy lead up ramps will fix the possibility of damage to the electronics there! US style conventional’s aren’t that good really. I have a Volvo VN 680 sleeper twin screw (6x4), I shift with a D13 @ 550 hp. I pull a 53 ft box van. Absolutely no need for a double drive axle. Max weight is 80:000 lb about 36 metric ton, 3 plus 2 configuration. The issue here is low axle weight, hence long wheelbase and 41ft kingpin to center of trailer tandem axle. California 40ft. There are a few day cab pusher/ lift axles on Volvo’s as its an option. Paccar have an option for a tag axle which doesn’t lift. A few trailer manufacturers are offering front tandem axle lift. North America is way behind the curve on the vehicles it uses. Give me that Volvo in the video any day of the week over what my daily drive is, and at just 2 yrs old it’s a top of the range motor for North America!
Nice truck and I totally agree with the constructive comments on potential improvements for the Volvo, especially with the relocation of the I-Shift control to the steering column.
Thanks for the video Stavros, always look forward to your vids on every Sunday. Thanks for posting. Volvo does have a big footprint in the North America market. A lot of the traditional and veteran trucks drivers like the Peterbilt 389 and the Kenworth W900L. If I was a truck driver, I would prefer the Volvo, because it's easier to get around. But Kenworth and Peterbilt are owned by PACCAR
Here in Australia we have quite a mix of cabovers & long nose trucks. Some have fairly long hoods where the SAR units are better for close proximity driving. We have a variety of Volvo's, Mercedes, Freightliner both cabover & long nosed as well as Mack & Kenworth cabovers & long nosed. Each have their place depending on their role. I have a video on my channel which shows a long nosed Kenworth backing into a very tight loading dock with no real pullup space that my wife filmed at our local shopping centre. Great video as always
Good video mate. You really know your trucks, cars and vans. When watching your video's on a Sunday morning I always have a cuppa tea and a few biscuits, bit of time to myself before getting on with the day
It would be nice if we could get those rear fenders in the usa they look like they would be handy instead of the one peace that's offered in the USA. That is a really sharp looking truck.
As an American I'd love to have a FH with the steerable tag axle. The size of a day can but yet still have a small bed for those who do shuttle driving. Wish they had these here in the states now
@@garethifan1034 😂this is the equivalent to a daycab in America. But the XXL has a bigger bed in it and it's coming soon. I'm sure it will have the steerable tag axles in it as well
@@mrmete It's not the full packet for here either - got a stupid flat top cab to it so no standing room to change. I drove a high top Scania for a few years and that was plenty room and the bed was above the driving area not at the rear of cab. Awesome bit of kit with the V8
Volvo have bought a new I shift out for the Coach range. Its basically three buttons park neutral and drive , far better than the one fitted on this truck
There are a few testing in North America, and Volvo assembles them on a VNR chassis. Around 24 units are known to be testing in the USA and Canada, with Scania and MB testing about a dozen units, and Scania officially in the North American market for mine haul trucks in the 40ton range
there’s a couple of scania S series in the states too owned by Navstar who is owned by VW so fingers crossed there’s going to be more European makes in North America soon 😊
Again very nice video, detailed!! The tag axle with steer is a blessing in tight areas plus saves lots of tyre ware due to drag. Only downside to these Tag axles is the uncomfortable ride & poor handling if you go wrong with the load distribution esp.if hauling heavy 50 tonnes gross. Kenya is watching,East Africa in the house!!
Stavros, I like the part about us from America. with that being said, I would love to see you do a side by side of a euro cab over and an American conventional like the Frightliner classic. You know you guys have such classy looking trucks. I hope one day to come ride in a Scania S580 and mercedes Actros. Stavros, one other question. What is the emergence breaking feature like when your diving it? Dose it slam on the break and want to throw you through the window screen? Thanks for the great videos, it's always fun watching your videos every week.
Not sure why the grey connectors at 3:00, for 24V you should have the red connectors with the 24V keying if you follow the Anderson connector recommendation.
Hi mate, just a single question as i really enjoy your videos. Especially the Scania S580 (im proud owner of an S650) was very detailed presentation. So, Stavros are you greek or half greek? Bcs the name Stavros or Stauros coming from Greece 🇬🇷, it halpens for me to have a cousin in Hellas named Stavros 😁. Thanks again for your videos, they are very detailed, you can't get bored at all as every single minute you show something new and fresh with a lot of details. Take care and keep us more informed about trucks and other vehicles. 👍 🇳🇴
I have driven some Volvo with the gear selector on the dash. Just three buttons like a bus D N R and another for + - for manual. Prefer the sidestick like
The low roof is not like the low roofs of old, I bet this is nearly as high as the original Globetrotter! I think they do a lower one too though, very nice truck!👍 I wonder why Volvo didn't do a flat floor version like it's Renault equivalent?
Hi stavros happy new year man . Has this truck got the duel clutch on it . Silly place to have the micro but otherwise a nice lookin ovlov i used to have a flat roof tag and i got way more milage from my tag axle tires and i was offroad alot doin the timber haulage i had plenth standing up room in the flat roof . I saw no need for a globetrotter . Plus its cheaper and lighter without the globetrotter . Ur obsessed with front air suspension lol . Ive driven trucks with it and honestly i couldnt see the need for it . Again its cheaper and lighter without it . And every kilo counts on the most jobs . I totally agree with u about that box on the chassis . It does look vunerable . Plus it would probbs imobalise the truck if u hit it . Hope ur well . Look forward to the new fm test . I saw one in belguim a few weeks past . Its a lower narrower version of the fh . As far as that model was concerned . Cheeeers keeper lit
You have to meet certain conditions. Modern trucks will do it automatically while you drive here but I guess for better performance or during services you can do it manually more often. Makes the truck loud ass while you drive and it regens.
Stavros, i am looking to get one more truck. I am thinking 2016 Scania r450 or 2016 Volvo fh 500. I have reliability and fuel economy in mind. Best regards.
Not as nice on the road as Scania, but close enough. And the steering tag axle is nice until you stand in the middle of nowhere at 2 am and the hydraulic hose to the back has gone boom. We have no steering on our tag axles on our new trucks and get at least 150 000 km out of the tires, so no biggie. And we're usually between 58 to 64 tons gross doing 250 000 km per year and truck, so at least for our use there's really no need for the steering. If I had my choice I would go for the Scania R650.
Hi my friend, can you answer my question, who's the strongest truck, is it Scania or Man? Because you have experience in the world of trucks. Please don't be late for me to answer. thank you

BIG DEAL VOLVO IS REAL ONE OF MY FAVOURITE TRUCKS

Flat roof getting more popular mate still love the Volvo n a nice colour. Look forward to next video nice start to my Sunday morning, 👍
I will always choose Globetrotter roof.... And I hope that they will make an design-update of the old F12, F16 Globetrotter in the 80-90s trucks
Oh ,I do love a good Sunday morning truck review, with a coffee of course. Top job as usual. 👍

Hi SAM.... Upcoming King of the Road!!!! Hope to see you on the road one day. Remeber it's not driving. It's trucking!!

back steering axle is my favourite part of the truck haha love the volvos

The quality of the Euro Volvo’s are far more superior than the North American Volvo’s . Great video Stavros!👍

Great video mate.. Loved the way young Sam pushed all the cup holders and other cubby holes ... he didnt yank the open Stavros ... LOL
Very nice. Thanks for this. Keep posting ☺
I don't know why i watch truck videos !

Anyone want to import ex UK truck to Kenya or Tanzania Whatapp me 447405150360
Good video as always
My dream truck.......nice information...thanks....
What a beauty!
I think the new Volvo was high and they've done a really good job
Poor little Sam you could of lifted him down from the truck Stavros969 😅 A beautiful machine it was ❤️
The power lead is called an Anderson lead, it’s typically a (fused) direct connection to the battery.

Please Show an old FH from 1993 If you can.
Volvo 💕👍🏻
I need this motor for my feed deliveries on farms, the Merc Actros we use are well out their depth.
I have driven some Volvo with the gear selector on the dash. Just three buttons like a bus D N R and another for + - for manual. Prefer the sidestick like
We run an FH 540 with a steering mid-lift... Apparently there's only a handful in the UK
Steering midlifts are common, but 540s with dual clutch gearboxes are indeed pretty rare. Baffling as it’s a great combination.
A little annoying to have your microwave on the outside, especially with our weather, but great way to optimise the space!
The low roof is not like the low roofs of old, I bet this is nearly as high as the original Globetrotter! I think they do a lower one too though, very nice truck!👍 I wonder why Volvo didn't do a flat floor version like it's Renault equivalent?
I’d take a tag over a mid lift any day of the week, just something about the look of them is so much nicer
Stupid question - does the tag axle still steer when lifted?

Where do I get the Stavros969 merch mr Stavros?
Are you going to the connocht truck run for Claremoris Mayo to Tuam Galway on the 31st of May?
Hi mate would you please talk about the price as you describe everything about these vehicles please. God bless buddy
He did.
I’m not sure if it is the camera angle but it looks really tall for a flat cab
It looks cooler than the obnoxious taller cabs with globtrotter decal thing
Nice storage in under the bed
You are best
Hi,
I am from USA. Can you please explain more how does regen button works. Can you do regeneration whenever you want ?
You have to meet certain conditions. Modern trucks will do it automatically while you drive here but I guess for better performance or during services you can do it manually more often.
Makes the truck loud ass while you drive and it regens.

Zetros test drive please
Starvross have to come to Argentina and pull 45 ton in old scania 113 with 360 hp. Here 500 hp is too much.
The driver didnt feel that he needed air on front axle !!!! Can i meet the boss ?!!!
Nice sir I am Indian

Huh. I thought they got rid of the I-Shift already.
I'll be damned Volvo. Didn't think you'd be that conservative.
its a brilliant transmission. drove a fh 500 i-shift with about 39 tons and it handled it like a champ!
Double gear box.
