Hey Micah just some advice, when fishing for flathead there will usually be only one or two a lay down, there territorial and don't like other fish so they are kinda loaners
So glad you’re highlighting this type of catfishing with drifting and live bait, rather than the catfishing most people think about where you throw some stinky bait on a heavy weight and let it sit for hours hoping for a couple bites. This becomes a so much more exciting and enjoyable fishing experience.
Big bait, heavier line, bigger hooks, and upgrade sinker size for your bait, I like 4-8 inch bluegill or sunfish and I prefer to run around 60-80 pound braid with 40 pound mono liters

I have only eaten catfish twice. It was channel and it was kinda muddy. I probably dont know how to cook it right. Like we get a lotta salmon and trout but also perch rockfish smallmouth some walleye and panfish… but we dont usually target catfish to eat.

I also agree that Tabasco is a better hot sauce I love Tabasco it's my favorite but second-to-none is a Frank's hot sauce and then there's one also called Louisiana hot sauce and it's just called that Louisiana hot sauce which is more vinegary almost like the franxx but a little better but Tabasco is my go-to hot sauce and I love watching your videos thank you so much can't wait to see more from you on both your channels.

That Ugly Stik striper rod you caught the first one on looks similar to the catfish series rod they make. I have not fished the striper series. Any noticeable differences between their catfish series and the striper? I feel like that stripper series makes a darn good cat rod. What reel were you using on that first cat ?
Flatheads are the king of cats. Hands down the best catfish and possibly the best freshwater fish second MAYBE only to walleye. In my humble flathead loving opinion!!
Another great vid... You commented the flathead tasted "cleaner". The reason is, flathead catfish are predominantly "live prey eaters" unlike other catfish varieties that are "scavenger eaters" & causes the stronger fishy taste & slightly darker meat found with channel or blue cats. Atleast his is how I've always been told.
maybe the next time you do that you can catch one brewcat a small one one channel cat also small and one front head also small and then bring all three of them back to the bank and do a kitchen cook and see which one is better but yeah I'd like to see you catch a giant fried head and a giant brew and a giant channel cat but that would be so awesome

At 28:35 he brings up the different hot sauces that people have recommended for him to try out. I just gave my opinion I liked one better than some of the other most common brands that he might of tried before.
You've gotta try Frank's Red Hot (their buffalo sauce is amazing) and Cholula. Cholula is the best sauce my family has found after trying like 30+ hot sauces over the years
My one piece of advice, use bigger equipment! With flippen in those log jams, it's best to just man handle the out of the snags. Using small equipment is funner with them small fish though!
More more more catfishing vids! Maybe think about dropping some jug lines or look up Zo Zo catfishing! Both really fun! Love your vids and might move close to Lake Murray in the next few years from Missouri!
Awesome Day,, Awesome High Adventure,, Words of wisdom for ya ,,IF ya gonna Do this type Fishin, 🎣 Go Up On The Line Weight big Time,, I Use a minimum of 40 lb braided line and a 15" inch leader 50lb mono, in That Wood a shorter Leader I usually reduce the length of the leader to 12 inch but still 50 lb Leader , A 30 Pound + Flathead in timber Is A Battle Royale, He goes where He wants to go Till he's got nothing left ,, it'll happen if you keep Fishin 🎣 This type structure , Use A small bluegill, I like a 2 to 3 inch bluegill, some folks Use Bigger, it's just my preference 3 inch bluegill is perfect for MONSTER Flatheads,, Texas Petes Hot Sauce ,, Great Adventure Today 💦🐟🎣🤠
While the cats are on the stringer the last 15 minutes of your fishing trip cut their gills it'll bleed them out and make the meat cleaner and tastier not muddy

You just need to catch a bigger flat head or blue and get the belly and jawl meat channel will not stand a chance. Best flavor on any is franks red hot sauce marinade the batter and fry. Best fish ever

I agree. The I prefer flatheads for eating as well. I mean blues and channels are good too but.. that bled out flathead huts different
