Actually, if Goetz had led the Peasant Army just a little longer, it would quite certainly have been enough of a case for chopping off his head… soooo… he was quite a choleric, and a notorious brawler - but he was definitely not stupid, only choosing opponents he not only deemed profitable to fight, but even more so: certain for him to defeat them in the long run.
