i have caught many large snapper of mornington pier , no balloons no casting aids, just the right gear, a synder glass rod high mount fast abu 7500, casting range 100-120 meters, squid or pilchard , set reel light drag, snapper run hooks its self, pull in and gaff, with the right gear and casting skill, you dont need balloons

i always fished from just before where the hand railing started, about 1/4 to halfway along the pier , never the end, i cast straight out using two rods, i only used half a pilchard the tail only or a whole blue bait or small squid pieces and only one hook per rod, a single small bait will cast much further than a big bait and allow you to get to the deep water, i even caught big snapper during the day with no one around using this method, fish just before where the hand railing starts, cast straight out, also make take a long gaff, good luck mate @@eddynottae8459

What this video has been up for three years or so and there are no eco terrorist trolls mentioning the damage the balloons will cause ? LOL Or did I miss those comments because they were removed by the channel owner. LOL There are usually so many trolls on youtube putting crap on any video they watch. Great vid thumbs up from me and I'll be using this balloon technique and for all the eco terrorists out there I'll make sure the balloons are biodegradable LOL
