I’m so glad you had the best time Jess, you deserve it!
I would like to offer a perspective on hiring out portions of your work. Sometimes when things get too far away from the original source (ie you or Tyler) it becomes less fun to watch. For example, so much of your personality and humour comes out in your editing style (like the drywall drama mini series and watching the grass grow, your more ASMR moody experiment era type stuff). I totally love the videos done by your editor too, I just mean so much of why I watch is for the stuff that’s makes you you! We don’t want perfect, and I’m afraid we’ll lose that spunk if things are less in-house.
Of course you need to make the choices that are best for you and your family, I just wanted you to know that’s it’s all the bits of YOU that we really love to watch 😊
Oh, and as someone who is raising a kiddo without any family around: it's really freakin' hard but it's doable. Your village is different (and more expensive). But it is doable, and I feel really happy and grateful that we're able to!
Props to you ❤ being a parent is a different type of exhausting and I only have a one. Normally, I have my mom to help once a week, but she’s out of state helping my sister with her two little ones. Bless all moms and dads who are doing amazing jobs even when they feel like they aren’t.
Well said! Yes, we do find a village, but it’s one we have to pay for and that’s hard too. We got this! But I also need a year long nap 😂
We did it alone as well, didn’t have family to babysit. They turned out ok so we do the best with what we have 💖
I really appreciate how you worded this. Lately I've been struggling with my village and I keep thinking "why me? Why can't they help us?!" SO when I read your comment it really clicked for me! My village is still out there but it's more expensive. It helped a lot. Thank you! ❤
Make sure your candles are on a coaster when you burn them I learned the hard way those bath and body works candles can leave a ring on you wood furniture for life if they burn down and the hot wax sits on the furniture. I always use a coaster or one of the bath and body works candle holders now 😊❤.
Jess, I don’t use social media. I enjoy TH-cam and keep it simple. Avoiding FOMO all together makes me personally happier. Glad you had family support during trip. It does take a village. Love Blue Nana!

Fomo. Drama. Useless content and advertising. Haha. 🤣 leaves me so much more time for the things I need and want to do in life. I got rid of mine about 5 years ago and have never looked back. I do not ever regret it or miss it. ❤
I slowed down from social media in 2016. From 2016 - 2020 it just gave me anxiety every time I opened it. So I have stopped using it all together from 2020 - Current. Best decision i could have made for myself! I only use TH-cam for watching/listening. ❤

Same! I get on instagram a little but I only follow influencers on there. I dont follow anyone I know in real life. I never get on FB anymore at all. Actually, I barely even get on my phon anymore. If anyone wants to talk to me, they have to actually call me, as it was when I was a kid. I have been so much happier since I laid that phone down!

Me too! I gave it up back in 2016 and never gone back. It was weird at first, but that made me realize that I was basing my life & self worth on how good my social media looked and that pushed me to keep away. Best mental health decision I’ve ever made. ❤
I love hearing about when people had exchange students growing up! My family hosted over 70 foreign exchange students from the time I was 2 until the time I graduated high school. It was an amazing childhood! I have 3 siblings. Two are married to foreigners, and the other one and I work internationally. It definitely framed the rest of our lives, and we're all so thankful!
Speaking of working internationally, I traveled to Greece in March for work. It was amazing! I was on my own for 5 days. I wouldn't choose to travel alone, but it was such a good growing experience for me. I got to Agina Island while there. So gorgeous!!!
I loved how your eyes look with eyeliner! You’re so cute “ can you still recognize me?” I wear eyeliner everyday; black, brown, navy, plum it’s always one of those.
I got married at the courthouse…to my boyfriend of 12 years…been married 7. We didn’t have money at the time to pay for a wedding and didn’t want to go into debt. I’m jealous of those extravagant weddings but at the same time 50% of marriages end in divorce soooo….
My parents did something similar. They eloped; her best friend’s father married them. They’ve been married for 58 years. 🙂. Their only regret is no pictures. Their wedding was about them and that was all that mattered. Wishing you and your hubby many happy years.

No kid weddings are stressful to plan for domestically, couldn’t even imagine internationally! So glad your niece was able to go and y’all had a great time. 🎉
My husband & I unplug when we go on vaca. It's nice not to worry about bills, laundry, etc, let alone social media!
The eye look is pretty and stood out nicely. Its a complete look, a yes to that.
If social media makes you feel overwhelmed or inadequate then you are following the wrong accounts. Being present with your family on vacation is a wonderful thing g but social media can be a relaxing and positive experience. If it's not then you are using it wrong.
I chuckled at the description of the girls' personalities being so different. My 4 yr old grandson and 2 yr old granddaughter are like that too. They're so different. Blows my mind.

16:50 , I always TWIST my lipliners & eyeliners that are shrink wrapped. Like twist the cap the opposite direction you twist the pencil. I find it to be the easiest way to get that wrapper off😊

Jessica, I totally agree with you. I was away traveling in Japan and South Korea for 2 months and was totally zoned out. Didn’t know anything that was going on back here and didn’t care. Now that I’m back, I’m already making travel plans 😂😂❤❤

We went to Rome on a long trip when my brother was in seminary there. It really changes everything to have a local there with you to help navigate things!

Yes!!!!!!! The experts aren’t kidding, social media and our phone is beyond toxic, horrific, I got a week without it and my mental health was 100%, then back on the phone all the anxiety and pain came back

I love that you have a good relationship with your parents, even though you might think about or look at things differently.
I feel like yours is a generation of kids that are canceling their parents because they don’t have some of the same views.
BTW- I have friends, family, and people that I watch that have vastly different views than my own. And I embrace it all and feel grateful we live in a place where we can think according to our own conscience.

I always sleep with my hair up. It’s not even super long just shoulder length. But if I sleep with it down at flattens it if I sleep with it up, all I have to do is take it out and touch it up the next day.

Omg, just gonna share, we have 2 girls, the older one (turning 5 in a couple months) is gentle, quite prim and proper and quite sensitive. She has stick- straight hair. Our second daughter ( 2 and a half), is our wild card, always on the go, and she has curly hair 😅😅😅, it made me giggle.

Re: less "how is work going?" questions- it could also be because you're an entrepreneur/self-employed!! My husband and I have noticed it after my husband started his business 4 years ago - not complaining, just observing. It's interesting!

Love the unplugged vacation. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks have no internet in the parks. It is fantastic. We didn't get internet on our Alaskan cruise either. Undivided attention was so good for us.

It is always interesting to hear what each of of thought was wealthy as a kid.
Mine is being able to go to the mall and find a cute dress and be able to buy it. Not have to wait for a sale, or save for months or have my mom make it. My husbands is being able to go to the store and buy food without having to look at the prices and filling up the fridge.
I also have long hair and sleep with it up in a very loose (so it doesn't pull on my hair) messy bun, using a soft fabric scrunchie, on top of my head most of the year. Sometimes in winter I sleep with it down, because I'm warmer that way.
I started sleeping in a bonnet and it has been truly life changing.
I am the same as you, I sleep with my hair down but put it above my head. Can't sleep on it!

I love unplugging! Our houseboat has no service and a week there is priceless! I want to go back pre smartphones. I can’t imagine trying to raise kids with one. Thankful mine are in their 20’s. I just feel like you miss so much when you aren’t interacting!❤
I make it a point when I am out with my family to not look at my phone. I don’t even bring it to take photos but maybe like 10% of the time. I used to bring it all the time to take photos but I realized I thought it was more of a hassle and would rather just enjoy my time.

26:59 thanks for sharing this! I have a hard time with how much my sister and I disagree. To the point where it has cost us our relationship. It’s just easier not having a relationship honestly. Which is sad but we just can’t seem to get past, I guess you would say the past.
It was the same with my Mother, but thankfully we have been able to keep a relationship. Even though it is challenging. ❤
Limoncello spritz...my favorite. That is what I ordered last year on our trip to Italy.
My cousin got married in Montana last year so we decided to take two weeks and drive there and make a big road trip out of it. Our kids were 3 years and 5 months old at the time. I was so nervous about it (and at times it was rough) but that was such a fun trip and I’m so glad we decided to go even though we were nervous about taking the kids.
