    I find that the factory carburetor (a Mikini 32 mm, if Im not mistaken) is pretty good. I just need to swap out or clean out the pilot jet every few years. It starts right up after sitting for a few weeks with just a little bit of choke. Also, I like how it is so easy to adjust the idle. Just reach down while I am stopped at a light.

    Thanks for the video, I ordered the same and installed to my 2010. It seems to bog out half way into the throttle could you do a video how to adjust it? Thanks!

      @cybertrk I mean unfortunately man when it comes to tuning I can't make a video for you to help you understand what's going on with your personal ride. If I do a video and show how I would tune it for my bike it's only going to work for my bike and maybe a few other people but chances are my tuning job will not be the same as your tuning job that will be necessary. You're either getting too much air or not enough fuel or you're getting to much fuel and you're getting not much air. The only way to truly find out what's going on is to look at the color of your spark plug and put it against the spark plug color chart to see what's going on with your carburetor and then make a decision from there do I put bigger Jets on it does it need more air this can only be answered by the color of the spark plug

    This maybe a stupid question but would this carb work for a 2009?

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's pretty much the same bike through all the years of manufacture however I'm not going to say it's an easy installation it takes a muscle because this is a bigger carb so you have to open the intake boot further to fit the carb on there make sure you have a strong helper

    • @caseynoll7009
      @caseynoll7009 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you use anything to lube up the boot?

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caseynoll7009 of course I used my finger with a little bit of oil around the boot

    10:23 yeah i was wondering about the extra electric cord on the carb.
    No throttle position sensor on this bike.
    Its just going to hang....lol

    did you adjust the fuel/air mix before you installed the new carb? I did the 50cc upgrade on mine over the winter, and I had to take the Mikuni full rich to get it to run better, but still not great. This carb upgrade may definitely help mine. what make of card is the upgrade? Niche?

    This might seem like a dumb question, but would an upgraded carburetor give more power and in turn a higher top speed?

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So from Factory these are tuned lean which makes them really run pretty crappy when introduced to more fuel and more air because of a larger carb they normally will run better and produce more power as well as smooth out the ride

    Did that remedy the high idle issue a lot of these Gz's suffer?

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean of course it does cuz now you can control the throttle very easily with the twist knob. This solved basically every problem it had the stock carb that comes on these bikes is just garbage.

    whered ya get that colored fuel line? Wouldnt mind seeing if i could find a color to match my bike. Also how did you know the carb was larger when you ordered it? I dont see a size on that ebay listing. Also, ive heard these bikes run lean from the factory. Not sure why. Probably an effort to keep the horsepower down in my opinion. Excited to see how a rebuilt, upjetted carb, pod filter, custom exhaust, and custom sprockets make my bike feel. Good video man! will have to keep this carb in mind

    • @IFixShet
      @IFixShet  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The fuel line was purchased on Temu, Having gone from the OEM carb to this it is clear to me that they were definitely doing a lot of restricting to the engine. However with that being said All bikes released from factory are set to run lean It's government forced For emissions reasons.

    11:30 yes appreciated you on camera measured the intake.
    Im considering buying a new carb. one if my original one keeps giving me issues and it just $60 new.
    Ive spent $40 on 2 rebuild kits over the years.
    The stock air box doesnt bother me and in good condition so I can measure my stock air box and make sure it fits.
    Do you know if it would fit a stock air box?
    Add and edit. 4-7-24
    Measured stock gz250 carb. 38mm engine side and 52mm stock filter clamp side.
