I first heard this magnificent melody twenty-three years into the alcove of antiquity, and the reservoirs of reveries, in one of my favorite films, Xanadu. In my high school’s chorus, I was a first soprano, but, over time, my voice has lowered, and I find it difficult to reach the D above middle C in the original.
