This was helpful. I just want to know if I have to enter a trade the exact moment when the stochastic and RSI crosses above 50 and MACD goes above signal, or will it still be a good time to enter a trade as long as the three indicators are above the the levels shown (rsi & stoch above 50 & macd above signal).

Thank you Markus!! This was a very useful and a quick set of instructions. And the way you presented this was also very easy to grasp. I have also seen a combination of ATR, MACD, and price action in comparison to the EMA lines also useful for the detection of breakouts.

Sir Two things to know
1-You have chosen RSI 7 period. Can we use 14 period RSI as used widely.
2- In Stochastic you have used 1 line only. Which is that slow or fast Stochastic 14 or 3.
We prefer a 7 period RSI because it is more responsive to recent moves and we plot slow stochastics.

Take a simple moving average of the past 7 days of the (daily high - daily low). Does this help?

Mahmoud Azar I trade most OTC stocks so the MACD do not works for stocks so I use the Bollinger Bands , SAR , news , maybe money flow and still able to find one good trade . I 58 ducks into a trade now it's 90 , and break out mon or Tue .

Looks like this scan does a good job of filtering out the noise while having you in good situations for the big move.

Hi. I thought RSI has to be below 30 which is an indication of oversold and once it reverses from 30 it s time to buy. Am I missing something?

Price action is key.
below 30 is oversold, above 70 is overbought. when the line is coasting near 50 and moving upward, you can "SAFELY" place a buy order. But remember to rely on other strategies to confirm the RSI indicator. RSI just another magnifying tool to help with confirming entry, you still need to search for other confirmation indicators or strategies to place that entry order.

I like this new indicators I’ve used macd and rsi together but not the stochastic, it didn’t show me how to find the stock itself but only to find when it goes up or down . Do you have a video of how to screen for stock breakouts or how to find the best stocks to trade getting ready for this pattern up?
Great question. I use the software "PowerX Optimizer" to scan for these stocks since it also shows me how much money I would have made or lost if I had traded this stock according to the rules of the strategy for the past 2 years. I like to make my decisions based on data. "Trade what you see not what you think", right? 😀

It really does not matter if it is in the business for over a Century. The Markets do not really care about that. I always look at the charts before entering a trade and often times I do not trade mainstream stocks. :) Always trade what you see not what people/you think.
Which Stochastic do I use for this on TOS?
Markus, which Stochastic Study are you using in this video? It looks to be the Slow Stochastics because I can see that there are 3 periods inside the parantheses. However, there is only ONE line indicator on the actual study when it's plotted, whereas when I add the study to my chart TWO lines appear. How did you manage to get only one line to appear? It actually makes it easier to read your way.
Oh, I just figured it out... except are you hiding the %D line or the %K? Which do you use?

Great that you keep things simple ! However it does not predict an entry point before a breakout but rather confirms a larger trend and shows an entry point. Could have explained the macd a little more in detail. Otherwise good video!

Markus, Good strategy to enter, but when you exit a trending stock according to this strategy, the price may dip down just a little from the point at which you sold and then continue upward. So, do you have any techniques on how to figure out if a stock is indeed on a downtrend after you sell or if it is just a small dip

All indicators are lagging as they use price action in the past for their measurements. Not sure what your point is here.

Hi Markus, thank you for a great and informative video. One question, my MACD lines have diffrent colors than yours, did you customize your settings? On yours, which color is the signal line, and which the histogram?
The purple line is the MACD and the orange line is the "Signal Line". Does this help?

Hi there, on Yahoo Finance, you can customize the colors. If you don't want to see one of the values, you can just set the color to WHITE. This way it "disappears". Does this help?

Hi Markus, after years of 'wandering in the wilderness', I'm finally applying this common-sense approach. In a couple of those free seminars they would tell us about the macd but not how to use it in combination with the other indicators. So, thank you for this reminder. Although my portfolio size is well below $500.00, I'm not by any means discouraged. My progress maybe slower but that would be a good thing. I think it might be possible for me to make as much as 5% on one stock in a trading day. Eventually, I think that I can accumulate between 10 and 20% on my portfolio if I maintain the discipline. So, thank you for showing this methodology. I know it can work. Thank you.

Will there be an instance where RSI is going above 50% but stochastic is not going above 50%? What to do then?
That would be a "black bar" and means INDECISION. Wait until all 3 indicators are either pointing to BUY or SELL. Does this help?
Hi Markus, I liked your presentation. I've only been trading stocks for maybe 3 years. Averaging 3-5 stocks at a time. Very small, trying to build. I have been lucky sometimes, but I don't want to rely on luck. I'd like a more educated guess, if you will. I've tried online letters, but it seems my luck was better. I'm intrigued by your software.
