I like it , However , when it comes to medical care and indoor water and plumbing , shower and toilet , electricity and AC and indoor heat … I prefer some modern benefits as well , .
Did everyone notice how beautifully clean the home is along with all cooking utensils.they might not have as much as some in the West well as much crap as we think we need but boy do they have pride in the home.
I have a lot of respect for them, here in the US, we are spoiled,,have too much,,,and are ungrateful, eat mostly frozen prepared food,, give our parents to nursing homes when they get old,,,, Bless this family.
i think it's easy to judge westerners for sending their elders to nursing homes. my grandma had alzheimer's and needed special care. the house she lived in wasn't well equipped and it became very difficult for all of us. she died in her nursing home peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Daughters have great work ethics. Mom you taught your daughters to be independent and be a team player. The daughters have great survival skills living off grid and the food looked delicious. As muddy as it was outside the inside is pristine and comfortable to be barefoot. Mom is amazing the way she is sitting on the floor and proudly observing her daughters as they prepare the food. it is indeed awesome to see, but you have to keep in mind: not everybody has the luxury to live like that. as a Native American, i had to leave my reservation just to find a better life in the city, & i lived just like this family. some people have lived that lifestyle their whole lives, & all it's been is a living hell for them. appreciate what you have, because some people don't got nothing.

Most of these patreon accounts are preying on Western naitivity. There's a whole crew behind the scenes that set shots up, hire actors and take the a majority of the donations. I'm not saying there aren't folks out there who are truly family-oriented and live like this, but the chance those people understand camera angles, editing, lighting, internet, etc. is very low.

Plus that area it's been conditioned to prepare their type of bread, there are several clean pieces of cloth on the floor to keep the bread dough from the soil, there's a hard wooden type of pillow to give bread its shape and a clay pit (Tanoor) that's it. The fabrics may look old but that's just the effect of the white flour everywhere, and yes, they do everything on the floor but that doesn't mean it's dirty. Actually what you see around the pit is just clay and soil, far from the concept of dirt. You sound like you're never left the premises of your city life.

The lavash bread is made this way all over Iran. The clay vessel is called a tanoor. I remember it well visiting my grandma’s inherited village/farmlands in the outskirts of southern Iran, on holidays and summer vacations. It was the golden years and golden memories of my childhood!

The closest I have seen bread cooked like this was in Egypt...but that was more like a tortilla in a flat hearth oven (though the end product looked similar to the video here). In the US, we do not get to see a fraction of Iranian culture! I remember being in Eastern Europe and seeing an Iranian dining set I fell in love with, but could not buy it because of sanctions. This is Sisterhood with a capital 'S'. These women are marvellous. Tough, resilient, multi-skilled ... they put so many of us in the West to shame with the matter-of-fact way they carry out a series of tasks that would daunt most of us, in a harsh environment. Hats off to all of them.
as a Native American, i can't really live like this on my reservation. why? inflation, gas prices, & food prices. & these issues were a problem long before people started complaining about them today. i think that's why many Natives move off their reservations into the cities because everything is right around the corner in the city; compared to having to travel over 50 miles just to make it to the nearest store. i would love to live like this, but i can't. people are very fortunate to be able to live like this without worrying about starving.
I wish I had a choice of living that way, look how stress-free they are. Nobody to bother them, no phones, it's all nature, their animals, and them. May they forever be blessed!!!

This was interesting. Just goes to show how spoilt for choice we have it in our western parts !!! I watched in awe at how simplistic their housing is and how they meet their every day needs. The food looked amazing !!! And here we are all fretting over the littlest thing.

This is Sisterhood with a capital 'S'. These women are marvellous. Tough, resilient, multi-skilled ... they put so many of us in the West to shame with the matter-of-fact way they carry out a series of tasks that would daunt most of us, in a harsh environment. Hats off to all of them.
as a Native American, i can't really live like this on my reservation. why?
inflation, gas prices, & food prices.
& these issues were a problem long before people started complaining about them today.
i think that's why many Natives move off their reservations into the cities because everything is right around the corner in the city; compared to having to travel over 50 miles just to make it to the nearest store.
i would love to live like this, but i can't.
people are very fortunate to be able to live like this without worrying about starving.

Their lifestyle might look simple and without problems but believe me when I say that we lived a life similar to theirs and it is an SOB to live like that. Damned cold winters in northern Colorado. No regrets about living in Texas today.
