Matthew I AND MY WIFE LIVE IN MINNESOTA IM TOLD WE AND WISC ONLY HAVE SUPPLEMENT RIDERS.!!!- I WILL BE CALLING YOU BUY OCT 15TH SIGN UP DATE. IM TOLD. I WISH YOUR VIDEOS WOULD COVER THESE RIDERS FOR MINNESOTA THANK YOU JOHN.
First of all, I found you presentation interesting and mostly informative. I wish you are clearer that you are paid a commission for every plan you place. and yes while it's the insurance company that pays it, its included in the monthly amount that the enrollee pays as well for medigap coverage or in Medicare advantage the amount the social security pays to the Medicare advantage program (over a $1000 per month). I lobbied for what became Medicare Advantage. Also I was a chief operating officer of an HMO...and I am not a doctor. There are some providers who won't take Medicare. Notably in NY, MSK doctors. (Memorial Sloan Kettering). There are some not for profit groups that will help guide Medicare eligibles who take no payment at all. Thank you for listening.
Hi Sid. I have a separate video on what agents / brokers are paid. Although the cost is built into the plans, the consumer cannot avoid those costs by going direct to the insurer. It simply increases the insurers profit margins. The real question is; do we add value? do we add enough value to justify our being paid for what we do? The vote is in the people who reach out to us for help and respond to my educational videos grateful for clarifying the mystery left by poor government communication. The Medicare Advantage Plan program is a sad mess. I am sure when you lobbied for it you didn't expect the massive fraud from insurance companies intentionally rating every participant as unhealthy just to get a higher cap rate from the government (that's you and me, our dollars by the way). and you didn't expect that insurance companies would deny and delay services to boost profit. But they have. Two IG Reports in the last four years prove that point beyond the stories i have heard. medigapseminars.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/Medicare-Advantage-Appeal-Outcomes-and-Audit-Findings-Raise-Concerns-About-Service-and-Payment-Denials-OEI-09-16-00410-09_18.pdf and medigapseminars.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/05/OIG-Report_Medicare_2022-OEI-09-18-00260.pdf and th-cam.com/video/xw7EiH-5iik/w-d-xo.html

First I watched Medicare Explained then I watched this video. Prior to watching these two videos my mind was clogged and confused. I’m beginning to see and understand clearly now how Medicare works. I honestly didn’t know these choices were available to me, less alone knowing how to make a choice. I believe what goes around comes around. I know without a doubt you will be blessed for making this stressful time so much better.
Thank you Joyce You will find the entire series for people new to Medicare on my site: medigapseminars.org/new-to-medicare/ for free. When you are ready to explore your options in detail, I hope you give us the opportunity to compete for your business.
Excellent information about Medicare options. Whew! You saved me from hours of internet searching! Rolling up sleeves for my work to evaluate options asking why and looking at my budget and risks for a longer fúture stability in my health care. Too bad I had to get old and poor to see the price over my lifetime vs the moments of my years of being disabled and fairly healthy. Never bet against hope! I may be a darn old lady in spite of myself. Thanks God bless Texas
Mat and his employees have been excellent answering any questions I have had. By phone or email. They have always called me back that day if their lines have been busy. I will be using them. Also watch his other videos well worth the information.

Thank you so much for the very informative videos! Now I have better understanding of Medicare and all the benefits and what risks to be aware of. Just found your link today

You've mentioned several times about having good health today, but planning on coverage for when you become ill. But what about someone that's way younger than retirement age and becomes disabled? How do you find good coverage then?
If a person under 65 is on Disability income, they become Medicare eligible on their 25th month. There is no Federal Mandate that individual states offer Medicare supplement plans to people on Medicare and under 65. Federal Medicare laws are for 65 and older. Unless a state has a specific law requiring that insurance companies offering Medicare supplement plans also offer plans to people under 65, there will be unavailable. Some states do mandate that insurance companies offer plans but say nothing of price. In those states, there are Medigap plans available, but at a price that no reasonable person will pay. Very few states offer Medigap plans at a fair price to people under 65. You do, however, have several other options. Just keep your Original Medicare Part A & Part B and add a Part D Plan. This is not a bad choice at all if you can’t find a Medicare Advantage Plan with all your doctors in a network. Get a Medicare Advantage Plan, but just until the month you turn 65. You can then switch to a Medicare supplement Plan without health questions. Some Medicare Advantage Plans have great out-of-network coverage. Opt-out of Medicare Part B until you turn 65 and get Short-term coverage. (Not available in all states) This may offer you better coverage if you have trouble getting all your doctors in one network.
I have a question about insurance companies that sell supplemental policies. I am about to turn 65, and I have purchased my medical insurance on the open market for the last 5 years as we no longer were receiving insurance through an employer. I have had the experience of my large insurance company (Blue Cross) deciding to stop selling policies in my county. (I live in California). I had to search for another policy sold by another company... and hope that my current doctors accepted the new plan sold by that new insurance company. Can this ever happen to people who have purchased a Medicare supplemental plan...where an insurance company stops selling the supplemental plan you purchased? Or the company pulls out of your state completely? For some reason I feel vulnerable here in crazy California!
Hi Susann. I understand how you feel. A medicare supplement policy is Guaranteed Renewable. That means the insurance company is required by law to renew your plan without changing the benefits each and every year. You will have the plan as long as you continue to pay the premium. You also have a special rule in California that prevents you from getting stuck in a plan with runaway prices. Lastly, a Medicare supplement plan has Original Medicare as its primary insurance. You can see any doctor or go to any medical facility in the U.S. as long as they accept Medicare. The problems you illustrate in your comment are specific to Medicare Advantage plans and marketplace plans. They do not exist with Original Medicare and a supplement. medigapseminars.org/medicare-supplement-specialist-independent-medicare-insurance-broker/m-quote-request/

Very good seminar and I wish I were aware of it. I got wrong information from my company HR. You mentioned a place to click in your video to send my question. I could not find it.
I have been watching Matthew's video's and they have been very helpful to me as he is very good at explaining everything. I had talked to so other agent who was recommended to me through a friend and without any information he recommended an AARP Advantage supplement and when I asked him a question his reply was "Just get it! You can always change!" After I watch all the video's I will call Matthew's agency to help me sign up, as I want to be able to understand all the all the terms used.
I turn 65 next March and have been watching videos on TH-cam educating myself about what to expect. I find your videos clear and very helpful in understanding the ins and outs of Medicare. The topics I have not seen covered are plans that cover vision, dental and hearing (other that advantage plans and I'm not as keen on those after listening to your videos.) What can you tell me about coverage for vision, dental and hearing? BTW, I am located in the Chicago suburbs. Thanks.
Thank you for your very informative video. I am turning 65 soon and thinking about supplemental Plan G. Is my understanding correct that the moop and the deductible are the same amount?
Really great information/explanations, thanks Matthew, I need to get on this. Turning 65 in April, but want to Keep Working and have great Full Medical Coverage.
Your videos are so informative and I like many others thank you for breaking it down. I’m faced with trying to get help paying fir dental work. I suffer from loose, decaying and infectious teeth. I need full mouth teeth extraction and dentures that I can’t get with a supplement plan. I don’t want a advantage plan but don’t see another way. I can’t even afford a payment plan.🦷
Matthew: Someone mentioned a household discount on Plan N if I was married or live with someone over 60 yrs of age. I am NOT married now (divorced) but do live with someone who is 66 yrs old. She gets her health insurance from Medicare. Have you ever heard of this household discount?
Much of that will depend on 1. Your state and 2. the insurance company. In some states you can get a household discount with some companies if you rent to a person 60 or older. In some states, and some companies you can get a discount just for being married or living with another adult. However, a rule of thumb is that if a company gives you a discount for someone who is not required to also be enrolling in an insurance plan with that company, you should expect higher than average price increases that make the discount a moot point over your lifetime.

Thank you Christina. We look forward to helping you.
So, What did you end up getting?
Thank you for posting these videos, very helpful
Excellent job. Thank you.
Great video everyone should know .
Thank you so much! Very informative!
Thanks.
Hi Gary - that is a discussion for a good video and way too much for a TH-cam reply.
Buy those separately from your Medicare.
Thank you for your very informative video. I am turning 65 soon and thinking about supplemental Plan G. Is my understanding correct that the moop and the deductible are the same amount?
Correct, the Plan G creates an annual MOOP equal to the Medicare Part B deductible.
I am getting close & this video was very informative.
Really great information/explanations, thanks Matthew, I need to get on this. Turning 65 in April, but want to Keep Working and have great Full Medical Coverage.
Thank you, this was very easy to follow and extremely informative!!!
You're welcome.
Yes it was.
Found very helpful. Saved it and will watch again. Thank you
Great presentation!
