Mine is running +2.2 a day which is perfect in my eyes. I had subs but sold them because everyone has the same watch. I bought the blue planet ocean from an AD for a huge discount and you just can’t beat the value. I throw it on an omega nato from time to time and it’s just a nice watch overall. Looks really good yet most people have no clue what it is
Curious to see if you still have this? Something tells me no, even though you stated that it was a keeper. I have the same model, and I'm battling with myself over to keep it, as the heft and height of the watch bugs me at times. I have the same Submariner as you, and wondering if I even need both.
Hey Thomas - yes i still have it - its running great and still gaining around 2 seconds a day - I know what you mean , i always throw on the submariner over this watch for some reason - it is a bit thick lol - Not sure if id flip it though it has a great movement and is a good looking watch
@@WatchAddictionReviews Thanks for the reply. You're input is helpful on whether or not I'll keep it. Especially because we both have the same wrist size. Keep up the great videos!
I much prefer the look of the 8500 models with their mate grey bezels and mate dial to the newer ones which are much more glossy. However, I just can't get past the size and thickness of this 42. I have 6.75 inch wrists and it's just too thick. Of course everyone's opinion is different. I ended up going with the newer model in the 39.5mm size and it's absolutely perfect for daily wear. So very comfortable. Just wish it had the older look. The 8500s look more like a tool watch which I prefer. Can't have everything I suppose.
good thoughts , yeah it can be a bit chunky at first. I believe the besel is actually matte black but looks grey on mine. The glossy ceramic newer models are a bit more blingy
@@WatchAddictionReviews I'm still considering this one in 42 since I like the look so much. I actually found one new in box. Unfortunately, it's across the country so I'm unable to try it on since no boutiques have these in stock anymore. Hesitant to pull the trigger because it might turn out to be an expensive mistake.
@@gyozototh3910 the 39.5 is noticeably thinner than the 8500 42mm. I ended up buying the 8500 also but my 39.5 gets much more wrist time. The 8500 is just too thick on me. It might be fine on a large wrist but it just looks odd on my 6.75 in wrist.
Omega know how to make a great watch. Rolex know how to market them. I think the Omega is a better watch all round. My submariner (1996) is poor in comparison to the Seamaster of the era, both in readability and build quality, but the Rolex will beat inflation!
+1.5 everyday, can adjust by laying it down on it's back, or on it's side........ Jeremy 0121 Indeed , but to people that know nothing about watches at all the word Omega might not click , as rolex clicks with the whole world due to their insane popularity and marketing over the years , omega is close though
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews I would have to say the people who don't know omega are the ones who literally know nothing about watches. Like literally almost zero about the concept of a wristwatch. I would say growing up as a post 80s kid, I was exposed a long time ago to Omega. Sure Rolex holds heavier weight due to the higher prestige, but I can say I've at least heard of Omega since early high school as an excellent luxury watch brand. On the other hand I didn't really know about Patek until maybe college. Then much later for brands like IWC.

I got one with the orange lettering and black bezel. Stunning piece indeed. I have a Marathon TSAR and it's night-and-day difference.
I have wondering about buysing this watch for size
Well.. my wrist size is 16.5cm
Is it too big for my wrist or
Suitable?
think its fine, 1 year later haha
Good sise

very true.
How is the thickness of the 39.5 mm model? Is it thinner than this 42mm, 8500 model? I will check them at the ad after lockdown.

So, grey market new means it's a replica. Correct?
grey market are authentic watches from authorized dealers just not omega warrantied

No adjustments on clasp it's a total disgrace have one have to buy a micro adjustment clasp £230 pounds it's just a joke
you need to buy a extra half link , im lucky i got a great fit

yep
just replace a full link on each aide with a half link
