Very well said Bernardo! Im a purple belt and ive been focusing on over under passing and closed guard since blue belt and will continue to for years to come as I love both 😊 and your instructionals really help
I'm a 37 blue belt and I train 3 times a week doing some competitions now and then..After the first years trying a little bit of everything, the other year I focused on armbar and triangle and I saw that by trying the same things all the time I succeed much better..this year I'm trying guard passage and a favorite open guard but I haven't found a concrete solution yet..however I can say that it works much better this method as you said.
My white belt butt has been working things from half guard for the last year 😂 it has been helping a lot actually, as time goes on I’m noticing I’m getting better at the small things as well as learning and implementing different attacks from half/z guard.
I try to focus on moves for a bit of time (months) but not years. After all I am only a year and half into training. Occasionally throw in some fun stuff to keep it interesting.
For developing a youthful athlete, this is the opposite of what they should be doing. Learn how to move in as many ways a possible and expand your knowledge. Then you can become a one dimensional grappler once you’ve really giving everything a try.
You have so many great instructors on your channel and it is hard not to be inspired to try everything!

This is all your fault Bernardo!! I keep buying more videos off BJJFanatics and have spammed my own brain😂
