Sri Srinivasa Kalyanam, an auspicious event that conveys the joyful union of a jiva (self) with paramatma (God), was the prime celebration of the day. This Kalyanam (the divine wedding) lowers our burden of karma (unlike the wedding between two people, which increases the load of work)! His companionship with Amma (the embodiment of compassion) is a blessing for us. This union allows God to be soft on us despite the several mischiefs we may have done.
Every practice in the temple is aimed at educating truths of life, thereby inculcating humility in heart leading to a pleasant and purposeful life for all.
JET Perth Chapter is performing Srirasthu Subhamasthu (Divine Celestial weddings) at devotees homes to raise funds to build Sri Balaji Temple in Perth.
