The only saving grace of that defense was they were 1st in Defensive Touchdowns, 30th in tackles for loss, and pretty decent on first down. They were not a good defense. We gave up 30+ points 8 of 12 games and 40+ 4 times. And that scoring defense is extremely skewed by that horrendous 7-3 loss vs Miss State. @@frank1908 you have to take into account, to some degree, how bad the offense was and the fact that we had so many 3 and out drives. The defense wasn’t great, but I think a tad better than the numbers say.
