1800 carat Matrix Opal - Bigger is Better!

  • In this video, I take an 1860 ct chunk of Andamooka matrix opal and cut it, grind it and polish it. I also took a 36 carat chunk of Mintabie seam opal and made a lovely cabochon out of it. The technique of treating Andamooka matrix opal is mentioned, but not discussed. Beautiful opal arrowheads are in the house and you may be amazed at their stunning, but unexpected appearance. Is is right for somebody to tell you that matrix opal will treat and then does not? I don't think so.

    Matrix opal today let us down but you still made something out of it. You don’t know how much I love your opal arrowheads, I made some arrowhead I made with my tribe as a kid out of Obsidian but there is something really Special about Opal. love all your videos Post more haha

    You don’t know how much I love your opal arrowheads, color or not. Red is the name of my dog and Taylor is the name of one of my daughters. How ironic you’ve named one of your arrowheads and your cabochon after them😉 I have some arrowheads that I’ve found that Vanessa and Chloe could put to shame.     It must be frustrating to spend a large amount of money on an opal to treat only to discover that the process did not work. Good thing Shela is there to console you. I bet you had someone in mind while creating those arrowheads. The seam opal was transformed into something spectacular, You are always very entertaining and full of valuable information.
