Kaobal Gali
Kaobal Gali is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.167m (13,671ft) above the sea level, located in the Kargil District of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Located in the Himalayan range, the road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy. It is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). The area is restricted for civilians. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4wd vehicle required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. The pass connects Gurez in Kashmir to Drass in via Mushkoh Valley Kargil, Ladakh and hence you bypass the Zoji La. There are high chances of getting affected by AMS (Altitude Mountain Sickness).

According to Census 2011 information the location code or village code of Baduab village is 002724. Baduab village is located in Gurez Tehsil of Bandipore district in Jammu & Kashmir, India. It is situated 43km away from sub-district headquarter Gurez and 119km away from district headquarter Bandipora.
The total geographical area of village is 280.4 hectares. Baduab has a total population of 1,541 peoples. There are about 199 houses in Baduab village. Bandipora is nearest town to Baduab which is approximately 120km away.

This is something else...wow...never seen a vlog in these kind of pristine and prohibited locales. Such a beautiful place and such a difficult ride to get there. This is truly appreciated and you have shown us places I never knew existed and I could never have seen.
Great vlog and great hospitality by Indian Army. I think the giant mountains, lakes and small patches of pasture also motivates our army perhaps it tells tells them that it's worth defending and fighting for. Extreme climate doesn't become an obstacle for them and keeps them going.
I started watching your videos from yesterday and boy got hooked.. After watching all your videos...this is perhaps one of the best and daring...i would say. Absolutely loved your video on Kaobal Gali. Actually I got permission from army to go to Kaobal Gali but we got late and it was not safe to go 17kms from Chakwali to Kaobal Gali and be back in daylight... In fact when we turned back from Chakwali , midway we faced darkness. Since the taxi guy was completely familiar with the roads, he managed the roads very well. Tiday the regret and advice of army not to proceed to Kaobal gali in that late hour is well taken and accepted by me, thanks to your vlog ..... I loved it. This time will not miss Kaobal gali for anything... Wish I could travel with you guys☺️

M 1992 me in jagah par gaya tha, tab m BSF me tha, Gurej Niru, Badawap, Chakwali kiasganga ke sath h, LOC to is se 15-20km, upar h, 18000ft ki height h. Us samay road Gurej se aage nahi tha padal rasta tha, aur winter m trackball se padal chalna padta tha aur n hi koi telephone, mobile suvidha thi.
