Do you think I should apply next year ( currently in year 12)? For GCSEs I got 4,5,5,6-5,6,6,7,7 and my uni admissions teacher told me I shouldn’t bother even if I do get good enough predicted grades next year. I really want to do ppe at Oxford but I’ve always been a middle set student. I currently do Economics, Geography and Computer science

Thanks for the question! For PPE and most other subjects, they do look at your GCSE grades, but they are only one part of the application, so if the rest of your application is strong, you still have a good chance. It's much more important to have the necessary predicted grades for A-Level.
It's probably still worth trying, even if your teachers don't think it's likely! There's nothing to lose from just trying, so why not give it a go? Good luck with your A-Levels and beyond :)
