Hey, thanks for the heads up . Was gonna plonk down the money for a week at new years but you have definitely talked me out of that. That is not sarcasm, I do appreciate it. Now it is off to find another place. Hasta la vista baby!!!!
It's a nice resort for price sensitive people, which is why it's full of families. It's not our thing but we had a great time. We prefer Playa del Carmen on the east coast of Mexico. I uploaded reviews of Princess and Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda recently as well. Check them out if you have time. The footage isn't as good because I'm just getting started. Good luck on your quest for the best vacation.
Please leave a comment for me if you hit thumbs down. Otherwise you just look like Samba management. I have more video of the nasty bathroom in my room and the horrible guests and the horrible front desk person who refused to deal with the horrible guests. I was generous in my assessment...it's best to let this one go.
I"m sorry but I have to disagree. The room is not where you spend most of your time. We've been to Samba, along with many, many other folks, and have to say that while the people do make a ton of difference, for couples wanting a quiet place to relax, the beach at Samba is the perfect place. We've made so many friends, too many to list. The beds are comfortable, the balcony is a treat, the Italian restaurant, the Saturday night Mexican Taco night, the service on the beach, the massage, the beach itself, the patons of the RIU walking past and saying they wish they had chosen Samba with no lineups, the views, the sunsets, the washrooms on the beach, the bats at sunset, the staff, the small market that gets set up each evening and on and on and on. Unfortunatly, you didn't get the essence of what makes Samba, Samba!! The small sized, cozy semi private get away that we've been to 6 or 7 times now. Mike Smith missed the ball when deciding to make a decision based on someone elses referral. His loss.

Are you kidding me? Complaining about the wood stains?
