I'm an 870 rated MA3 scrub and i love golds. Shot +9 once. Round of my life. Beautiful course, think there is one or two stroke adjustments out there. Hole 6 is a pretty egregious par 3. If you ever make it back out, do the Parmageddon layout. 9 golds holes, 9 blues holes. Heavy woods, heavy distance. Its amazing.
I think the pro tour has to pay the venues more, cause its all voluntary work, and like a 10buck per player payout for the venue. The economy does not compute 😅
It's not stupid to establish a history by playing courses for many years. However I do agree that they need to keep trying out some new courses out there, 2 or 3 a year. I'm sure the guys who run the tour would agree. It's not only about a good course though, there's many logistical and behind the scenes things that have to fall into line.
Love this course for what it is, an absolute bomber paradise. I also like the par = 1000 idea because it's a great way to know how well you're playing. In saying that, the walking is insane. When you were running on hole 1 I was like oh lord he is gonna regret that later haha. Nice round and great shots. We will have to get together and play reds next time you're up!
I used to play ball golf out at Kayak back in the day. It was and still is beautiful PNW scenery. I played there for father's day a couple years ago, the blue tees course absolutely destroyed me, hardest wooded course I've ever played, (there were only 13 holes finished at the time I believe, it was being worked on). I did pretty well on the red tees course. I chatted with the guy who I believe bought the course in the restaurant there? Anyway super cool guy.
i like this course because it gives you a different mindset coming into the round. as an AM, you're not expecting to shoot under par when you play here, and that gives you a very refreshing feeling in my opinion. it doesn't feel like you're letting yourself down as much, because you really cant birdie 75% of the holes anyways. in the tournament literally the weekend before you were there, the winning MA2 score was +12 through 2 rounds out on golds.
This disc golf resort was A-Maze-Zing to play. My advise, start with the red course (warm-up) & then move onto the golds...golf cart highly recommended. This is an all day thing for anyone who decides to try and tackle this monster of a facility. So get there early & you will not be disappointed!!!
I use the bag boy xl also it's a great cart. Pro tip get a 64 oz water bottle and put it on the rail under your bag fits perfectly for those hot rounds.
I'm a 824 rated golfer. I played Kayak Golds at a tournament, shot +19. I think it is a fantastic course as long as you ignore what it says par is. You kind of just need to play your game and ignore "par" and I think just about everyone can have a blast out there. Maybe play the Red course first though...
Add a alphard golf ewheels to that cart. I have a rv1s with ewheels and alphard side kick (makes cart follow you) added. It’s like having a kinda dumb r2d2 caddie for you. It hangs out a couple feet behind you wherever you go.
Hey man. Hope you’re doing great. How’s that mana going? Have you considered going back to the origin or some other mold? Also, do you think you could eventually have a chariot that is beat in to that slot? Thanks for the great content.
Definitely try the red course next time you're out in WA. Same incredible scenery, much less insane course. I think the red course is really enjoyable and well designed.
3:01 ewwww that's a Pennsylvania Flyers PA-3 NHL licensed disc! i hope you spat on it off camera... If you see a Detroit Red Wings one laying around, make sure you salute that, son!
NOPE!!!! KANSAS,SALINA LAKEWOOD NORTH AND SOUTH SIDE .IT WILL MAKE THAT Look like a lil boys course. 😂😂😂 They are all par 3's. And the south side is crazy.
I dont care one bit to play a hole as a different par if what its labeled as very obviously doesnt make sense. Like im not playing a 500ft uphill hole as a par 3, i refuse
He's literally just explaining what the public perception of the courses are and commenting about it, ur so weird for trying to make it toxic. @@freggiemilla1988 This is one of my local courses and I cannot agree more that people love the reds generally and have gripes with the golds, but that's because the golds are far too difficult for 97% of players.
Being someone who has played this course multiple times, don't feel like you're a wuss for playing the red course. it is so much fun! That being said I am a believer that disc golf par 3s need to be harder, this course clearly also thinks that lol but to the extreme!
I love your content Bodanza!! But complaining so much about what this course calls a par, about made me go crazy Par doesn’t matter… the course layout, the scenery, the amenities, the baskets, the tee pads, the signage. All of that actually matters. What they call a “par” doesn’t matter. How many throws it takes you to get from the first tee pad, to hole out on the last basket, is all that matters. Call them all par 5s if ya want. Then a -18 is still losing to someone who calls them all par 3s and shoots even… why? Because the player who calls them all par 3s and shot even, took less total throws to complete the round
I think the whole “par is relative” talk is a bit overdone sometimes, because par sets expectations, and typically there is reasoning behind why a par is the way it is. Here it seems the only reason to keep the pars as they are on the 3 holes is to keep 1000 rated at even par, when they could make 3 better holes and accomplish the same thing with pars that are more suited to realistic golf distances and lines
@@BodanzaDiscGolf- fair point, sir!! I’ve been a believer in “par is relative” since the early 2000s. That doesn’t mean it’s the “right” way to think… maybe it just keeps me from spinning out of control when I step onto the tee of a par 3 that I can’t reach for a birdie opportunity. Who knows… I do understand the sentiment you were expressing. I just think you over-emphasized it. But the back 9 was much better. Either way. I appreciate your reply! Congrats on the new baby, and here’s to hoping your channel continues to grow!! 🍻

Lol, I was playing the video in 1.25x speed and didnt realize it until the first putt, cause its Bodanza😂. Just assumed he was extra juiced today😅
Thank you for doing those hills justice they are just as big in person as on camera.
So glad to see content about this place. My absolute favorite disc golf property.
It’s stupid that the pro tour plays so many of the same courses every year when this absolute gem is sitting in wait.
The pro tour has logical issues…. No chance they could live stream at this course
@@hagenschwark8908 DGN sucks anyway, a lot of people just want post event jomez coverage

thought this was a new London video, been wanting a bodanza video at kayak point and really wanna play this course 😅

I found this company called Kestrel for your silly Saturdays series of reviewing smaller companies

I can agree with most of what you say about golds. Its a course i play often and its rough everytime

Shout out to BoDadza Disc Golf and best wishes to baby Bogey!
Some of those 600+ feet par 3’s are criminal
ah this was great! Come back and play blues soon!

If you loosen the shoulder straps of your bag, the bottom of your bag will probably rest on the frame of the cart.
Unfortunately this place is so hard for the average player that it stops people from wanting to go there to play.
Have a daughter and name her “Anne Hyzer Bodanza”
Could not disagree more

3rd channel Banana Breathing coming soon.
Still in the Seattle area? Gotta hit some other courses here too
This was recorded a long time ago. He's not recording much new stuff right now since the kid was just born.
Reds are fun too!
Looks like a nice place but I and my weak arse arm wept a little at some of those distances/pars.

Watched Gannon birdie that 666ft par 3 it was silly
Think hole 2 you should of thrown forehand instead of a turn over
I want AB squared to play here😂
Cell service is not the same as gps service… ;)
It’s the same course designer as SeaTac so you got your work cut out for ya. Par 3s on holes that people average 1-1.7 over Par. 😂
everyone loves Reds, everyone complains about Golds lol
3 holes change and it’s easily a top top course

Wanted to say “too late you are already crazy”. But that would be mean
