Monster Hunter World Turf War: Frostfang Barioth Vs Raging Brachydios
In this fight, both monsters have modified HP, attack and other stats to make them as equal as possible. Let's find out if our new boy Frostfang Barioth can take down the Raging Brachydios.

I've seen regular Brachydios occasionally tangle with Teostra before it runs away. Raging Brachydios definitely has a strong chance of winning.
Teo's moveset suck ass to fight against other monsters.

@@arypramana6154 yes Brachydios is one of a few monster that,in a logical standpoint,were built to masscare equally large monsters.Anything with a large,powerful arms will always uave advantages,and the slime is even more deadly

Despite frostfang being a fun fight, he’s only alittle bit stronger than normal barioth, raging however is over the Top powerful. Maybe in the next game they could make frostfang a lot stronger

Frostfang moves is not being design to fight other monsters. Meanwhile raging brachy moves mostly are AoE attack. In my opinion all monsters that can use mass flinch attacks have bigger win percentage if you try to make them fight in-game like this. Also, what mods did you use to make this kind of stuff?

@@joeyflores9649 thank you, when I mean adjust of course brachy will still keep his advantages, but frostfang needs a bit more buff for a fairer fight how about arch-tempered frostfang.
@@MonsterSlayerSquad I dunno, I think it's better if you only adjust HP (and always make the same cut to all combatants equally) and not their attack values and what not. If a Monster can't win a fair fight on their own terms, then it's just not as good of a fighter no matter what. We don't want the fights to be rigged, do we? :P
@@MonsterSlayerSquad You dont have to increase the damage. Tempered frostfang has the same attack modifier as any tempered elder, at 13.1x. Raging brachy and furious have that same attack modifier. Tempered furious has a modifier of 16x, alatreon has a modifier of 16.15x, and at nami had a modifier of 19x. This information might be redundant if you already know it XD

Yeah, Frostfang Barioth is better suited at fighting Monsters in his class a.k.a. Apex-tier, especially with some of the strongest Elder-tier Monsters around like Raging Brachydios.

Safi'jiiva has many advantages but unfortunately not more HP, as Alatreon has over 50k hp where as safi has 40k hp.

Seeing Raging Brachy outside of the guiding lands makes me wonder, how does his phase progression work when he’s in a different map? Can he still go into his final phase mode without being in the correct map?

The answer is totally obvious, of course not. It's desinged to work only in the Guiding lands in the one zone. Duh
One time me & some randoms were fighting it & we flitch shot afew times & got it to stop in the second to last phase. It’s possible but very rare. Basically melted the floor as usual but u were able to move in & out the volcanic area.

Whit all this Explosions an environmental Damage, and his high physical Power there isnt a Monster capable of defeating him, except maybe Alatreon and Safi.

Agreed. Raging Brachy are the strongest brute wyverns and stronger than almost all elder dragons.
Its a fking beast.
While Frostfang Barioth had more agility and speed, his modest was made for hunters rather than monsters and mainly focused on the hunter, however Raging Brachydios had Raw explosive power which remained everywhere for both monsters and hunters, perhaps in his final stage Frostfang Barioth might have had a higher chance and a smoother moveset for both other monsters and hunters he could have won but alas he put up a fight.
@Diego Cantu frostfang really struggled to avoid those explosions, this is how the brachys always punish there victims. Though im curious how an elder dragon like alatreon would deal with them.

Despite having the elemental advantage, Raging Brachy's Slime mechanic does damage to anything whereas Frostfang's Floor Freeze only works on regular hunters.
@Wslasher True, thats the exact reason why Raging Brachy and normal brachy are so tough and can compete with top tier monsters.

I feel like Normal Brachydios is more broken than Raging in terms of monster fights. The reason why I think that is because Raging doesn’t stick slime onto other monsters like normal Brachy does. If Raging had that ability, this fight would have been much shorter.

@@MonsterSlayerSquad Really? I thought that monsters which do set damage numbers would be the ones absolutely crushing them. Savage Jho does the trip-chaining double 500 face-slam. Rajang has his 100 punches and 500 slam. Seethinggeese has his 200 bombs. All of these should do like, insane damage to Brachy, right?
@@LoncusZhao Correct, but brachy leaves slime all over the area and they can flinch monsters when they explode. Big monsters are more prone to being hit and potentially interrupted, especially monsters that have big wind-up to their attacks..
Argueably one of the strongest variants that's on par/stronger than alot of Elder dragons VS Tier 2 monster variant.. Yeahhhh... Not gonna look good for our frozen kitty I'm afraid

You're saying this with the assumption that a variant cant 'level up' the status compared to the original monster. Zinogre is threat level 2, yet stygian is threat level 3. I get what you're saying, but tempered frostfang has the same attack modifier as any tempered elder, being 13.10x
I wonder if, because of that, it's considered a threat level 3 monster
@@WisdomAkpan211 Probably. Frostfang Barioth is relatively easy to deal with, but he hits REALLY REALLY HARD, assuming he hits you with his strongest attacks dead-on. It's probably a bit to do with the endgame. Through Turf Wars and in-game behaviour, we can see that Stygian Zinogre and Frostfang Barioth are both Tempered Tier 3 despite being considered Apexes.
@@WisdomAkpan211 Of course a variant can "level up", Raging Brachydios is also an example of one as normal Brachy is also just tier 2.
I just wasn't quite sure whether FF Barioth is tier 2 or 3 as the armor and weapons are rarity 11. That was simply an easy way for me to say that FF Barioth is significantly weaker than Raging Brachy. Didn't even know Stygian Zinogre is tier 3 lol, doesn't quite feel like it.

i have a feeling the temporal mantle was a bit of a downside for frostfang. if i remember correctly, wont frostfang have a much higher chance of triggering his sabertooth slam if the hunter is actually staggered in the ice breath?

Wisdom Akpan Because he only can use that when all 3 parts(head, both arms) of his slimes are active. If you don’t see him using, you probably manage to hit him enough for the slimes to drop

I like that Frostfang is immune to getting slime stuck on him from Brachys attacks simply because it's impossible for him to fight Raging without mods so he dosent have slime hitboxes

I feel kinda bad for Frostfang. I don't think most of his ice moves can even affect other monsters so they're just wasting time and giving the opponent loads of free hits.
I reckon if you took a regular Barioth and buffed it to have the same health as Frostfang, it'd do better by comparison.

This reminds me of the quest "Mark of a Hero" from Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. The quest pit you against an Azure Rathalos and a Brachydios in the arena at the same time.
The easiest way to beat it was to just hide behind Azure Rathalos until the Brachydios killed it.

I knew that mah boi, Raging Brachydios would win becuz Ice is weak against Fire. Also, Raging Brachydios is super powerful but Frostfang Barioth also put up a good fight. As shown when it managed to knock the Raging Brachy down and stun it multiple times in this match. Now the Frostfang Barioth may have held the speed and agility on this one but not the raw, unmatched power of the Raging Brachydios. Also, note that the Brachydios and Raging Brachydios has obsidian skin so yeah attack power and defense is all in the Raging Brachy's favor. Raging Brachy was almost untouchable due to the extreme level of aggression, high attack power, and considerable defense it has and Frostfang Barioth was absolutely getting his ass beaten the hell up. (Pun not intended) Frostfang Barioth's ice breath won't work against Raging Brachydios because Ice Element is weak against Fire Element so yeah, we could all say that Raging Brachy was gonna kill it this match. But Frostfang Barioth put up quite a decent match against the Raging Brachydios with its high speed, agility, and attack power but its defense is way lower than Raging Brachy's as well as the fact that its ice breath won't work on Raging Brachy becuz the element of Brachydios and Raging Brachydios is Fire that is strong and effective against Ice while Ice just sucks against Fire. Also, the Raging Brachydios can really just bring you down to poundtown if it really wants to with the might and power of those clobberers.

It honestly does not surprise me at all that Brachy crushed Bari. He's got chanting in his theme. What more evidence could you need?
This is the outcome I'd hoped for. YES!!!
It's no surprise who won, here. Given how hard it is to make the monsters hit each other in any fight, it was bound to be a little hit-and-miss. That alone is where Brachydios comes out on top, as his slime is like setting landmines and Barioth was bound to keep stepping on them. Brachidios himself didn't hit Barioth much, but the explosions and AoE attacks are going to mess up a monster's day. I think it'd have helped if there was a way to get Barioth to actually target Brachydios, but I doubt it'd have changed the outcome. However, I did notice that Brachydios does have a little retaliation in his programming because there are times he's clearly changing targets from you to the Barioth.
I don’t think the health bars are accurate cuz Raging Brachydios health bar stood at 98% for a good majority at the beginning but I like how both monster are fighting their weakness and if someone doesn’t get what I mean by that Raging Brachy’s weakness is ice and frost fangs weakness is blast or fire
